TGIF! This week has been tiring. DD's daily schedule has been shifted to including tutoring (which she is enjoying), and I had to travel for a seminar this week. So glad it's Friday. No plans for tomorrow, so maybe we'll have a lazy day at home.

Elizabeth comes home from the Beta Club Convention today. I'm ready to see her! She didn't place in the talent competition, and she was relieved LOL. She didn't want to have to dance in front of such a big crowd again.
Mama called me yesterday afternoon in a panic. She had spilled a pot of boiling water on herself and needed to come help. I flew to her house, but by the time I got there, she had calmed a bit. Luckily, she was wearing jeans which deflected most of the water, and her legs weren't really even red. She had jumped in a cold shower as soon as it happened, so she was ok. I took her to the pharmacy and got some lidocaine spray, which helped. Whew, scary!

Happy Friday, everyone!
Looking forward to a special film show this weekend at the Boston MFA---two Laurel & Hardy comedies recently restored by UCLA. In 35mm, NOT digital projection! Otherwise, just the usual weekend routine, hopefully including some crochet time. I just bought a mess of yarn so I could start a new project when I finish the lap robe I'm working on.

I wanted to get all caught up before posting, but......that may take me a while.
I shared in the Chit Chat section that our holidays were a little different this year. My step-son died at age 37 on 2/19/17 & my husband died at age 59 on 11/15/17.
I don't even know if I had custody of my grandson yet the last time I posted here. Thankfully, I had signed up for e-mails & while they didn't bring me back here right away, they eventually did.
Hope everyone is well. I will continue to read & hopefully will get current with the posts on the countdown.
Well, the ornies are off my tree. I’ll have to get help getting the lights off, pulling the tree apart and storing it away. Is it crazy that I’m already thinking of summer ending and the “bers” beginning? I’m not good with the heat. Lol.

Well my nieces dad picked them up yesterday so I can finally take off the respirator and put down the Lysol. Everything will be getting washed today though. I also have some errands to run while it’s sunny and warm out. I hope everyone is having a great day!!!

Another afghan, probably---either a pattern I got online of a ripple with some texture added, or an Aran-type textured design of a single color. I also bought yarn to have standing by when I feel like taking a break to make hats.

We had time, but I couldn't get into crocheting in the summer...so it was my own fault!

I am normally right with you on thinking about the bers and skipping summer as I don't like the heat/humidity but I am actually looking forward to the summer this year. We are joining a local Sportsmans club and they have a lake for swimming that the family is excited to use this year. We applied to be members a couple years ago and just got our approval to join.
