I watched the SpaceX Falcon Heavy test flight a moment ago. It was pretty cool!
Elon Musk put his favorite car in the rocket, I guess to show his faith in it. There were cameras all around the rocket showing live video feed from inside and outside, and one of the cameras is inside the car looking at the dash and windshield.
The dash radio screen says "Don't Panic"...LOL! If you've ever read the book or seen the movie "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy", you'll love it!

Thank to all of you for your thoughts and prayers. Sorry I haven’t been on since my wife’s surgery. As you might guess, I’ve been pretty busy!
My wife’s operation was completely successful. However, the aftermath has been difficult. The first 36 hours had her in unbearable pain. She was maxed on pain meds and there was nothing going on, so the doctor told her she would just have to soldier through. Fortunately, she found some relief by packing her ankle in ice. By Sunday, she was starting to feel better. She’s getting around on crutches pretty well now but will be unable to put weight on it for about 2 months. As you might guess, I’m learning new lessons in being a good servant. “Good” may not be the right word. But I’m trying! I keep reminding myself that I’m privileged to have two good legs, so the least I can do is to bless her in every way that I can!
Also, Oliver is doing well with his heart worm treatment so far. He’s not normally a dog who bounces off the walls so that’s a plus. But I’m nervous every time he gets a bit active or barks. It gets really old taking him out on a leash to potty in this cold weather, too. Last night I took him and my Shepherd, Cody, out to potty before bedtime. They surprised a rabbit in the front yard and almost caught him. Yikes, Oliver was so excited that I thought for sure he was going to run into trouble!
Anyway, I think I’m back now. Missed everyone here!
Anxiety is such a problem, no matter who suffers from it. If the medication brings Rollins relief, all the while renaining his sweet, crazy self, then it's totally worth it.Morning MMC. Back to work for me but got a lot done on my day off including my eye exam, ordered new contacts, Rollins vet appointment and went out to eat. It was a good day but with Rollins I had to bring him home due to biting the nurses. He is very over anxious and always has been. And our vet who we have had forever since Nitro was little and is very well regarded in our area advised us to try giving him Anti-Anxiety pill. It worked. Our vet said lots of dogs are on it just like people are and it helps them live their lives a lot more normal and happier that they don't have to be anxious all the time. Energetic is one thing but Rollins does take it to a whole new level. He said he's had some of his own dogs on it for years now and there's no side effects that come with it. We're kind of trying it out for now and see how he reacts to it short-term. Anyway sorry to ramble a little. Have a great day everyone!
Ever since David saw the preview for The Cloverfield Paradox, he's been dying to see it. Now that I've told him it's out on Netflix, I know what we'll be watching tonight.Good Tuesday morning, Christmas friends!
It was an uneventful evening last night. I watched "The Cloverfield Paradox" on Netflix, which was awesome (especially if you've already seen the original movie, "Cloverfield"). Then I had a gordita from Taco Bell LOL.
I hope y'all have a great day!![]()

Thanks Crown! Have a good Winter Wednesday!Good Morning.
Here we are again at the start of another day.
Of course, for Carl and Company it isn't just another day at the Shispering Pines. It's mid-week and that can mean only one thing.
(But we will get to that at the end.)
First up (as always) is the newest count release:
Days to the Season: 279
Days to Christmas Day: 321
And the next marker?
Well Folks, it's the 1/4 Season Milestone and it has now crept so close that it is only FIVE days ahead, now.
(And that's pretty darned close!)
Our weather yesterday was merciful and bestowed on us an afternoon high of 61 degrees. And as an added bonus, we had plenty of sun and no precipitation.
Today? Even warmer, with a predicted high of 66. But this installment is predicted to come with a 90 percent chance of rain, and it is rather cloudy as I type this.
Our current temperature reading is 49 degrees.
Carl? He's ready for the 6th Pines Day of the new year and the first one of the new month.
Since it is still winter, that season remains the theme at our inn of choice. Spring is coming, though. I can just sense it.
But for now, nothing takes the chill off a wintery day quite like a piping hot fired twinkie.
Come join us at the 'Pines and enjoy one this evening.
And while you are planning that, be certain to also have a Wonderful Wednesday, Everyone!
Bless here heart! There's nothing worse than pain you can't escape. I'm glad it's eased off. I'm not a very good servant, either, but I'm sure she appreciates your efforts.
We had a terrier that had to be treated for heartworms one time. It was a worrisome experience, but he pulled through like a champ. I'm sure Oliver will be fine, too!
What a good care giver you are being! I'm glad your wife is feeling better. I'm sure that has to be frustrating!! Continued prayers for Oliver & your wife. (and you too!)
So glad your wife's surgery was successful and that the pain has lessened for her and that Oliver's heartworm treatment is going well. Continued prayers for all of you!
That is great news about your wife's operation being a success and that she is over the worst of the pain now. And happy to hear about Oliver doing well after his treatment as well.
Glad to hear she is mending. Have you looked into a knee scooter for her? My FIL had one after he had surgery on his foot. It made things easier for him when he need to get around.
