Christmas Countdown - 2018

Merry Monday MMC!
It’s going to be cloudy today with a high of 52 degrees. I’m dying to take Rocky for a walk but I didn’t get the okay from his veterinarian yet. He goes back March 8th, hopefully I’ll be able to take him out after that next round of shots. Not too much going on here today, just errands and chores. Dinner will be fried chicken and homemade macaroni & cheese. Oh and a tossed salad to be healthy lol. That’s about it for me. Hope everyone is well. Have a great day!!!

-10 here, but you wouldn't think it, the hot sun blazing through my office window, effectively burning my arm. Knowing we have "endure" summer before that holiest of seasons begins anew, is depressing, but only a little bit. By the time its over, the inner kid will be champing at the bit!

Our last warm day is now behind us. We should be about 15 degrees cooler today for our high.
At this time, we are at 59 degrees here in Raleigh and we have a light rain falling..

Our next-to-the-last day of warm weather was yesterday. After today, more seasonal conditions should return, although it should still be very nice.
Currently, we perceive 70 beautiful, sunny degrees here in beautiful North Carolina!

Good Monday morning, Christmas friends!

I have the worst sore throat I've had in a while, it woke me up at 3am, and I can't speak. I don't think Nancy minds that part. The streets are yellow with pollen this morning, and you could see it blowing in the breeze yesterday, so I'm pretty sure where the sore throat came from.

We're supposed to have rain today, and I'm praying it will come and wash away all this yellow Devil-dust!

Good morning MMC! I'm SO happy to have this Merry place to come too on a Monday morning!! (and every other morning!)

I didn't get to watch anything Christmas over the Rudolph weekend. It was an eventful weekend at Moms. My SIL & great nephew came over Friday afternoon (He's SO darn cute!!!!), as well as the nurse & my sis came over Friday evening. Saturday my brother stopped in, another sister came over, moms neighbor joined us for a delicious chicken pot pie meal (@HomemakinGirl ) & I started her on her afghan- Yesterday Moms neighbor came over again for more crochet lessons, my sis stopped in again, my hubby brought us a Chicken Fajita pizza for supper & POOF, the weekend was gone! I did get a lot done on my afghan but I still have a few rows to go! Maybe tonight!! xx

Mom had such a good weekend. She's having a good day today too - it's a little scary...how long until she is going the other direction again?? She is a mystery!!

Today is a gorgeous Sunshiny day!!!

FYI - The Holiday is on Lifetime tonight!!! You know what I'll be watching!!! 7 pm EST!!


I'm looking forward to catching up on everything that went on in the forums over the weekend!

It was really good. Mom's neighbor lady (My Mom #2) said it was the best meal she has ever had!! (and she said she wasn't kidding!) LOL!! I kind of combined your recipe w/ the Pioneer Woman's recipe - the only difference was adding corn & celery. I used a refrigerated pie crust & topped with mashed potatoes. YUM!!!

I’ve had a thought in my head for a very long time about also getting a tall, but yet not that big around at the bottom Christmas tree for the bedroom also. Not a whole lot of lights on it to where the room is ablaze in lights, but more like a beautiful, warm, yet festive lighting on it.

LOVE that idea! I love my skinny tree next to the fireplace for year round accent lights!

I was up way too early this morning but Andre does not like to sway from his weekly routine and of course he only wakes up his Mom!
Not too much going on today..I am going to get a workout in and then go to the grocery store.

Good Saturday morning! They predict some sun and a return to milder temperatures today. Only 2 days left on my staycation, wish I had another week off to be honest. I hope to get most everything done today (groceries, laundry, chores etc) so that tomorrow we can just relax on our last day off. Have a wonderful day everyone!

I don't know if your staycation went fast for you, but it sure did for me!! Seems like you were just telling us about starting your days off! Crazy!! Hope you enjoyed your time off & "back to reality" goes well!!!

Well my sister got the flu and I had my nieces from Wednesday until just a few minutes ago. It’s pretty bad that the teachers working the drop off and pick up lanes at the schools have started to recognize me. So I spent most of my week driving them around and trying to relearn 7th and 4th grade math. Thank god for google. Lol!! I hope everyone had a good week and that you at e enjoying your weekend!!

Oh mercy!! You deserve the Uncle Of The Year award!!!! Are they doing common core math??? That's crazy to me!!

Happy Saturday evening you all. It’s raining here and it’s cold. Stayed in today, and got a lot of housework done. Not a day to be out running errands in the rain.

We bought some Christmas crafts that were on clearance in this little craft store some weeks ago, beautiful things, but they had minor things wrong with them, like needing to be hot glued, or fixed in some minor way. I think I’m going to work on them tonight. Two of the items were grape vine angels, about 20 inches tall, just beautiful. Each one had a wing that was loose and it just needed to be hot glued. We got them for just a couple of dollars and other than that, they are perfect.

They were some great finds.

Have a nice dry, warm and safe evening tonight everyone.
