Film night! We screened “That’s Entertainment” and a couple reels of random musical numbers. The projector was just overhauled and it runs like a top.

Good morning!

The rain has finally stopped as of this morning. Southern Ohio is flooded and the governor called a state of emergency for 17 counties along the southern portion of the state. We had a lot of rain, but no major flooding. The Miami River is way up and some areas around it are flooded, but it is mostly fields and not houses or roads.

My wife is finally feeling better after being sick for a week. I think it started as a cold and then developed into a sinus infection.

Luckily we do not have much planned for the day... laundry, grocery shopping, lesson planning.

Good Sunday morning and Happy Rudolph Day, Christmas friends!

It was 85° and sunny yesterday, so I spent the day running the chainsaw on broken limbs, and then I rode the lawn mower till dark...in February! That's crazy-talk!

I'm sitting here drinking coffee, watching Close Encounters of the Third Kind, and waiting for the girls to get ready for church.

We're taking Bernie out to a Chinese buffet for his birthday tonight.

It's a wet and cloudy day here, but that's okay ... I'll take care of some laundry, and crochet in front of the TV. Still feeling run-down from this doggone cold. The cough hasn't quite gone away yet.

It was a good weekend for crocheting!!! Hope you are feeling better!!!

I bought the bigger version that has side cabinets for my living room last year and love the warmth that it adds.

Love it! I would like a small fireplace for the lake... even though the majority of time we are there is in the summer.

Morning MMC. A new week begins and a big one as we transition from February to March this week. So fast isn't it? And we had a good time at my Uncle's last night. Other than that just starting to take Rollins to the park every day again. It's time...just light enough to bring him when I get home from work. I hope you all enjoy your Monday!

Merry Monday MMC!
It’s going to be cloudy today with a high of 52 degrees. I’m dying to take Rocky for a walk but I didn’t get the okay from his veterinarian yet. He goes back March 8th, hopefully I’ll be able to take him out after that next round of shots. Not too much going on here today, just errands and chores. Dinner will be fried chicken and homemade macaroni & cheese. Oh and a tossed salad to be healthy lol. That’s about it for me. Hope everyone is well. Have a great day!!!

-10 here, but you wouldn't think it, the hot sun blazing through my office window, effectively burning my arm. Knowing we have "endure" summer before that holiest of seasons begins anew, is depressing, but only a little bit. By the time its over, the inner kid will be champing at the bit!

As far as our next marker is concerned, be advised it is the 300-Day Christmas Day Milestone and it arrives THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW, succeeded immediately by a double-200's count!
(Who says February can't be exciting!)

Our last warm day is now behind us. We should be about 15 degrees cooler today for our high.
At this time, we are at 59 degrees here in Raleigh and we have a light rain falling..

Since I was at moms all weekend I had to reduce my countdown chalk board by several numbers this morning. I changed it to 302 & thought... "I can't wait until I can write 299 & then send a pic of it to my friend!!!"

Good Monday morning, Christmas friends!

I have the worst sore throat I've had in a while, it woke me up at 3am, and I can't speak. I don't think Nancy minds that part. The streets are yellow with pollen this morning, and you could see it blowing in the breeze yesterday, so I'm pretty sure where the sore throat came from.

We're supposed to have rain today, and I'm praying it will come and wash away all this yellow Devil-dust!

Sounds like you had a fine evening. However, the thought of a projector spinning around the floor, bumping into table legs, and falling over dead is not a pretty picture.

Good morning MMC! I'm SO happy to have this Merry place to come too on a Monday morning!! (and every other morning!)

I didn't get to watch anything Christmas over the Rudolph weekend. It was an eventful weekend at Moms. My SIL & great nephew came over Friday afternoon (He's SO darn cute!!!!), as well as the nurse & my sis came over Friday evening. Saturday my brother stopped in, another sister came over, moms neighbor joined us for a delicious chicken pot pie meal (@HomemakinGirl ) & I started her on her afghan- Yesterday Moms neighbor came over again for more crochet lessons, my sis stopped in again, my hubby brought us a Chicken Fajita pizza for supper & POOF, the weekend was gone! I did get a lot done on my afghan but I still have a few rows to go! Maybe tonight!! xx

Mom had such a good weekend. She's having a good day today too - it's a little scary...how long until she is going the other direction again?? She is a mystery!!

Today is a gorgeous Sunshiny day!!!

FYI - The Holiday is on Lifetime tonight!!! You know what I'll be watching!!! 7 pm EST!!

I love The Holiday too. I'm looking forward to it!! As much as I am enjoying the sunshine today I'm so exited for comfy clothes, a soft blankey, my snowmen/lights & a movie tonight. I tell you what - an 89 & 85 year old over a weekend will kick your hiney!!! Ha ha!!

It really was, with the rain and all. Since it was a "Rudolph weekend" (24th and 25th), I worked on winter hats for charity. The cough is almost gone, and I think the energy level is creeping back up.

Goodness ... you must have been home sick when the teacher discussed metaphors ...

Really, though, a projector in top shape is such a joy---the motor and shutter quietly purring away as the film passes through, the audio strong and steady, the image staying in sharp focus without drifting ... I guess it's hard to describe to anyone who doesn't know a film collector. Film evenings are a special treat.

Well my sister made it to work today but Katie only made it about 15 minutes before she got sent home with a fever. So of course, Uncle mark to the rescue again. I think I’m going to start charging my sister child support because I have her kids more than she does. Lol!! I hope everyone is having a great day!!!
