Continued prayers heading your way! I'm sure Jim feels torn about where he should be. Nice that he was able to get away for a bit.
So your nose is brown this week, huh?
Have a good day Brad!

Thanks---You bet I will, if it's in my power! Please be careful in that bad weather!
Enjoy the weekend with your Mom...have a great day!
Have a safe trip & nice time back home!! Enjoy!!
Oh yeah sometimes unplanned time off is good for a change since I always plan my days far in advance. I've still got plenty of days off planned from Memorial Day till Labor Day. Right about now I'm all wintered out...and yet I heard there's another storm after this Sunday into Monday. I think we are due to miss that one...Wow! Sounds like a pretty good work week. LOL! Enjoy a shorter week if you get one!!!
I always say if it's not going to be 70º + - let it snow!!!Oh yeah sometimes unplanned time off is good for a change since I always plan my days far in advance. I heard about the storm on Sunday....seems like it may be a miss for us too. Maybe just some snow showers. Seems like March is a lot more active than February!Oh yeah sometimes unplanned time off is good for a change since I always plan my days far in advance. Good evening.
Today was certainly a Monday. Not a bad day, just exhausting at school. An assignment I have my American history students complete is a short research paper. Well, every year I both look forward to the paper and dread it. It take a lot of time when I could cover more material, but they need the practice in writing. The issue is trying to teach them how to develop a thesis statement. One would think that they would have that down since they work on the same stuff in English classes... but no, they struggle.... A LOT! It is tiring going from student to student and trying to fix thesis statements and outlines. In the end it is worth it. By the end the vast majority get it and I know they understand it, because when I have them again the next year, they are able to complete papers with little guidance on thesis statements. Oh well, sorry for the venting about such a random topic.
This is also just a busy week. Wednesday is a scholarship fundraising dinner that I have to work, followed by a band and choir concert my oldest son is performing in. Then on Thursday, the High School girl's basketball team is playing in the regional championship game, so I plan on going to that. Saturday is the high school band's district contest. Oh, and Wednesday we are getting new carpet in our house. Oh yeah, and I started my last Master's class today and have about 300 pages of reading to get done and write a forum post about. Yeah... busy! Just keep swimming, just keep swimming.![]()
Morning everyone, I've got some time before I have to go to my lectures today so thought I'd come say hi as I think It's been a couple days since I last posted. Feeling really positive today, the suns shining which always makes me feel great. Looking forward to when it starts to warm up. As much as I love christmas sometimes I think nothing can beat the feeling I get during summer. Going home this weekend for mothers day. I can tell my mum is missing me a lot more than usual so will be good to see her. Going to throw her a nice lunch with lots of treats and prosecco lol, going to invite my nan over as well which should be fun. Hope you all have a wonderful day.
Good Tuesday morning, Christmas friends!
As of late last night, I wasn't notified of any change in my SIL's condition, so I'll take that as a good sign. Jim came home long enough to give his employees some direction, pay some bills, take a shower, and see his daughter at mom's house, then he went back to Savannah. I hope he's getting some rest.
Our director is here at our plant, interviewing more candidates for the general manager's position. It's so strange that any one of the 11 people coming through this week might wind up being my boss. I have to be super nice to all of them LOL!
I hope y'all have a great day!![]()
I hope everyone has a great day!!!
What a lovely time you have planned for your weekend at home ~ safe travels to you! Hope you have a merry week and that the sun will shine on you, too.![]()
Thanks Crown! Glad to have like-minded people like you who appreciate the holiday season all year as well!Good Morning, Fellow Travelers!
And what a joy it is to travel with such fine and like-minded folks such as you guys.
People who truly understand the Christmas Season and its value as an inspiration year-round, not just during the holidays.
It's also a joy to present the daily count and its daily declining balance.
So, here we go:
Days to the Season: 251
Days to Christmas Day: 293
Likewise, it always gives me pleasure to present the identity of our next Milestone and marvel at its rapid approach!
In this case, the marker in question is the 1/3 point to Christmas Season 2018 and it will be arriving right on schedule, which just happens to be March 15, only EIGHT days from today and ONE WEEK from tomorrow.
(Well, if this has spread a little happiness your way, I'm grateful and pleased!)
Yesterday? Not much of a day.
It was chilly and rainy most all day long.
Today should be drier and a bit warmer, topping out in the mid 50's.
Our current reading is 43 degrees here in central NC and it's still rather overcast.
The indomitable Carl? Well, as always, he will be at his post at the Shispering Pines' front door, greeting all guests with that ever-dependable first complimentary fired twinkie and glass of sweet southern iced tea.
This being the first open house evening of March is bound to mean something special in the entertainment department. Something about the close pending approach of spring, I'll bet.
Carl really does work hard and tirelessly every week to bring us a unique experience at our inn of choice. Be sure and give him a sincere word of thanks when you see him. I know he would appreciate it. (And perhaps you might even get a second fired twinkie!)
Anyway, I hope to see as many of you there as possible, and in the meantime.......have a Wonderful Wednesday, Everyone!
I can take care of it Crown if you need someone.** TRAVEL ALERT **
The Crowns are off to attend a cousin's wedding in Alabama over this weekend, so a countdown volunteer will be needed for Friday through Sunday mornings.
Anyone feel up to taking the helm?
Thanks, Crown!! Hard to believe only a week to another milestone!Good Morning, Fellow Travelers!
