Good Thursday morning! I've been cooking a ham in maple syrup/apple cider/broth all morning for a brunch-type meal organized by the social committee at work tomorrow. I'll be happy when tomorrow's work day is done, as David and I will have a three-day weekend. Have a great day everyone!

It'll be a workday for me.

That's a bummer. You know, having off on a Good Friday is a rarity of sorts for me I must add. I am typically used to seeing companies giving the day after Thanksgiving as a holiday, instead of Good Friday.

This is ok with me, I'll take this holiday and the day after Thanksgiving, I'll just take a personal day to stay at home and have seconds and thirds to the Turkey dinner!

For about a 3kg smoked ham, it's one can of maple syrup (540ml), 2 cups of apple cider and 2 cups of chicken broth. Here's the recipe:

Same here. They predicted a wash out today, well they were right! Good day for napping!! This is the kind of weather we have for many Good Fridays...maybe it will be out of it's system & my day off tomorrow will be nicer!!! xx

I too have many memories of listening to the Reds on the radio or watching them on tv with Dad. He would (almost) never miss a game if they played when he was home. ♥ Many fond memories of my Grandma & Reds baseball too!

Oh no...sorry to hear this!! Hope she is better soon! I just saw on the news last night that the CDC said there is a 2nd wave of the flu going around...ugh! Definitely get to the Dr if you don't feel well!

Morning MMC! It's Good Friday. I hope you all enjoy this Easter Weekend no matter what your plans are. We are keeping it low-key like we normally do for Easter. I have to work today though as we don't get off for Easter. And then on to Easter Weekend. Next thing we know we'll be talking about Memorial Day Weekend. It was great to see baseball back on t.v. yesterday. Rollins got up with me as usual at 5:30 AM today but instead of just going about our early morning business he brings his toy to me like it's play time. Have a great day!

Good Friday morning, literally! This will be one of the busiest days of the year at work, but I will leave two hours early since I prepared documents from work yesterday and I'm claiming that time (usually I don't but this time I am). The ham from yesterday is sliced up and ready to go for our brunch today at work. David said it was delicious. It's funny, I'm a vegetarian and often get stuck cooking meat for these events but I can't even taste my own cooking, so David is my tester. Hope everyone enjoys a wonderful day!
