Christmas Countdown - 2018

Good Morning, Fellow Travelers.

And our travels have brought us once again to Weekend Eve, the threshhold of our 2-day end-of-the-week respite.

It has also brought us to a brand new set of Countdown numbers.
Here they are:
Days to the Season: 172
Days to Christmas Day: 214

And naturally, a day closer to the Season and Christmas Day is also a day closer to our next Milestone marker.
The 200-day Christmas Day Window. It's now only 14 days away.
TWO WEEKS from today!
Then, a double-100's level count.
(We're getting there, Folks. Step by step and day by day.)

No rain yesterday and the temperature/humidity was manageable.
Starting to pick up a bit of a mosquito problem, however. Par for the course this time of the year.
Today shows a slight shot at rain, with temps in the mid 80's.
Currently? We are at 71 degrees here in central NC.

I just saw there were shots fired at yet another school ~ this time in Indiana. Noblesville. Praying all are ok!
 
Good Friday morning everyone! This is yet another gorgeous sunny day here and it will get very warm and humid this afternoon, a preview of the Summer to come. I'm working the afternoon/evening shift so right now I'm doing this and that, relaxing. Another member of management has had to take a sick leave, this time because of his back and knees and physical exhaustion. I was talking with a colleague from a different store last night and it was freaky how her own situation AND her old store's situation resembled mine at this same time last year. She got transferred to a new store that she didn't want, her old store manager went on sick leave suffering from a burn out, and that old store was left short-handed for other reasons as well. Exactly like what my current store is going through. I had chills when she talked about it all. Anyway, I do have some chores to do and need to stop procrastinating so much this morning. Hope everyone will enjoy a great day!

What a scary time we live in, I sincerely hope everyone will be ok. We are in the midst of training all of our employees on what to do if an active shooter comes into the store. I never thought in my life that I would train people on such a thing. It just makes me sad.
 
Happy Friday / Memorial Day Weekend Eve!

Looking forward to the holiday weekend, even though the weather is going to be freakish ... sunny and near 90F today; near 90F again tomorrow, but clouding up and rapidly dropping temps; Sunday it isn't supposed to get out of the 50s; Monday cloudy, showers, and 60s. Ugh.

And our fridge/freezer is failing, so we'll be going shopping. It's been on borrowed time for a while. Fingers crossed that it'll hold out until we can get a new one purchased and installed.

Praying everything works out for you!! I can't imagine taking time off for "burn out" ~ I would be off every day. Ha ha!! But seriously, I do hope things turn out better than expected! I hope you have a wonderful & relaxing weekend!

I got that backward ... highs in the 50s on Sunday, near 70 on Monday. With lots of clouds. Not what I wanted for a Memorial Day weekend!

Thanks for the good-luck wishes! No, no "smart" fridge for us, thank you! The fanciest thing I want is an ice-maker and/or ice water dispenser. Outside of that, if it keeps food cold and fits in our kitchen, I'll take it!

At least 2 in critical condition. One teenage girl and one teacher. Reports are saying the teacher tackled the shooter and was shot.

That is chilly!! I do remember sitting at memorial weekend softball tournaments wearing gloves though!
Good luck with your fridge purchase! I do love the water/ice dispenser!
