Have a good weekend MMC friends. The weather people are predicting a heat wave for the Maritimes, just in time for the Canada Day weekend. Canada Day, July first, is on Sunday and most communities in Nova Scotia have fairs, parades, food and fireworks ready.

Have a great day & enjoy Canada Day weekend! Stay cool!

We were on the other side of the Big Island! But several people we were with went over to Hilo! Sorry to hear Gloria is slipping. That's hard! Prayers for her! I'm sure she was so happy to have you there! We took the day after off work too - what a long & exhausting trip!! Whew! So much travel time! I bet your hubby was struggling to get through?
I hope your 1st day back to work goes well! xx
Gloria was SO happy to see us, even though we wore her out a couple of days. The last sight we had of her was a big, sunny smile!

Even though she's 92, she gets around on an iPad pretty good! That's a plus for us to keep in touch with her. Phone calls can be difficult because of the 6-hour time difference. Couldn't stop thinking about her when I was lying awake last night, God bless her.

View attachment 45394 Good morning! Taking the kids shortly here to paint pottery and out to lunch with a girlfriend and her daughter. I work tonight at 7, but then I’m off for four days.

The rain held off just long enough last night to get the game in and most of the fireworks. Nittany hasn’t been dealing well with rain, thunder or fireworks. We got her a thunder vest and with the storm that came through here last night, she did great! Here’s a pic of her.

Hope you all have a great day!
Aww...sweet Nittany! My Andre was never scared of storms but we had some this morning and he was really nervous. He is 9.5 so maybe as he gets older it bothers him more?

Have fun at the pottery place!

Good Morning, Second Half Travelers.

Yes, Folks. In case you missed it, we passed the half-way point to Christmas a couple of days ago and are now on the downhill slope in BOTH or our counts!

What's next? You'll find out.
(Boy, will you find out!)

First, though:
Days to the Season: 138
Days to Christmas Day: 180

Now hold on, because there's hard-to-believe news coming.
I just 16 days - two weeks from the day after tomorrow -- we will be 2/3 OF THE WAY TO CHRISTMAS SEASON 2018.
You read that correctly, TWO thirds!
(This is just starting to get really frightening, Guys!)

It was again pleasant yesterday with reasonable temps, lower humidity and no rain.
Today will see us return to the mid-90's however, and we will then be in a "heat rut" for quite some time to come.
Our day here has commenced at 75 degrees.

Have a Thrilling Thursday Everyone, while you dream of Weekend Eve tomorrow!
Thanks Crown! 2/3 sounds awesome!

You are watching some good ones!! What a great day!!! And of course snacks are a must! ;) Christmas on.... :D

Good afternoon, friends. Just popping in to catch up before leaving to take Bambina to speech. No work for me until Monday and only two days next week, so I'm looking forward to slowing down a bit....

See y'all tonight!

Enjoy your slow down time!! :)

Thanks, everyone! It's great to be back, both at home and on MMC.

We had a wonderful time. Although Hilo and Gloria are on the rainy side of the Big Island, we had more sunshine than usual, and every evening a beautiful "light show" at twilight from the sun and clouds. The morning of the day we left, there was a beautiful rainbow in the morning.

Our time with Gloria was also wonderful, but bittersweet. She is beginning to fail physically. It was so difficult to get her into and out of a car, so two of the days that we visited she didn't want to go out. The other days we took her out for lunch and dessert, and one day for a little shopping. Although she's failing physically, mentally she's still sharp and sunny, although she occasionally loses her concentration for a few moments and asks us to repeat a question or comment. In spite of the physical difficulties, she really enjoyed her lunch trips with us.

I was still off today (although Mr. went to work---brave soul!) and I slept SO late after our l-o-n-g, nearly sleepless trip home. After I finally got up, today was one long whirl of laundry, bookkeeping, folding laundry, putting away laundry, catching up with the held mail ... visiting MMC is the first thing I've done for pleasure all day! It's back to work tomorrow, and I'm starting to get pumped up about July Fourth. We've been anticipating our vacation so long that the Fourth has kind of sneaked up on me!

Oh, I'm so sorry Gloria is beginning to fail ~ I'll keep her in my prayers. {{{HUGS}}}

Good morning MMC! Merry Friday Eve! Not much up for me today besides work...and laundry! Good day for hanging clothes on the line! Git 'r done! ;) It kind of snuck up on me this week - especially since we are on vaca next week. I want to make sure we're prepared!!

I read a story this morning from "Chicken Soup For The Soul, Christmas Treasury For Kids & their families" It's a book you're supposed to read a story every day from Dec. 1 to Dec. 25...well, I'm reading it for Christmas in July - starting early cuz I'm sure I'll miss a day here & there! ;)

I liked the 1st saying in the book:

What is Christmas?
It is a tenderness for the past,
courage for the present,
hope for the future.
It is a fervent wish that every cup
may overflow with blessings
rich & eternal,
And that every path may lead to peace.
Agnes M. Pharo

Have a great day MMC!

Happy Canda Day to you and yours! Stay cool!

Hello Meceka...Good to see you posting my friend....Hope your having a merry day so far:)

Hello, prancer ~ it's good to see you, too! My day is on the merry side, but yours sounds much more festive what with all the Christmas shows you are getting to watch ~ I'm jealous! :) Take care, my friend!

Merry Thursday!

The dew point is in the 60s and the humidity is in the upper 80s, so I am staying inside as much as possible. If I keep the curtains closed and the windows shut, it doesn't usually get above 80 in the house and that is on the hottest and most humid of days, so hopefully the next three days will not be sweltering.

Stay cool, hydrated, and merry!
