There were some firecrackers going off last night - Lucy didn't make anything of them, but they were in the distance. Gracie was scared sh**less of them & storms. She wasn't afraid of them until she was around 2 yo. Hopefully Lucy won't be afraid like Gracie was, but we still have her thunder shirt just incase!!! This is also Lucy's 1st 4th of July! I hope Rocky is not afraid of them & I hope Nittany does well with the thunder vest!

Those storms that blew through here yesterday morning in central Connecticut was intense. I was on the road driving in them and the lightening was wicked at times.

My wife said that our kitties were all freaked out!
Shiloh, she's afraid of any loud noise in the first place, and also, if she hears a strangers voice, swoosh, she's off to find a hiding spot under something. Ariel, usually she's pretty good with everything, but those storms were pretty intense and the lightening was close and sharp and thunder was ear splitting. Jill told me that Ariel just froze, and was looking around and would not move. She walked over to her and picked her up and took her into her walk-in closet and held and played with her. Shiloh, she took off and hid and did not come out for the rest of the day.
My poor girls, Shiloh is very attached to me and when I got home from work, she came out from under the bed, crying and whining and rubbing all against my legs. So I reached down and picked her up, held and comforted her for awhile. She was purring and nuzzling into my whiskers, all curled up in my arms. Breaks my heart to see them so upset.

Too sleepy this morning. I hope my morning cuppa tea fixes that quick.

There's a heat wave on the way this weekend, and it looks like the weather will be extra-hot right through July Fourth

I felt the very same way this morning too. I had 2 alarm clocks set, and I still could not get up out of the bed this morning. It felt so good and comfortable and I was in such a nice sleep; that I just did not want to get up. I glad it's Friday!

Morning MMC. The Heat Wave is beginning on this TGIF! I am ready for the weekend. I moved my vacation days to a Thu/Fri in July (26-27) and August (23-24) so I'll have a "4 day" Thanksgiving-like break/mini vacation both in late July and late August. Not bad. I'll need it cause without my co-worker things have been pretty overwhelming in terms of work load. But some OT hours and pay isn't bad as they look for another person. Have a great Friday!
I hope things settle down soon at work & they find a GOOD replacement! Have a great Friday Edge!

Hobby Lobby looked like it was Santa's Workshop!! There were 4 employees hanging ornaments and another one hanging up Christmas wreaths!! Then the cashiers were taking ornaments out of boxes and separating them in between customers. It was great!!! A few more weeks and they’ll really be in full swing.

That's awesome news Made! The Mrs and I are going to have to make a road trip to the nearest Hobby Lobby, very soon!

Good Morning, Weekend Eve Enthusiasts.

And as enthusiastic as we are over the pending weekend, we are even more pumped concerning our count and the proximity of our next marker.

First, the basics:
Days to the Season: 137
Days to Christmas Day: 179

Then, our next Milestone.
It's the TWO-THIRDS point to the Season and it's only 15 days ahead.
TWO WEEKS from tomorrow, Folks.
(The rolling year is rolling away from us!)

The heat and humidity are making a comeback day by day and the weather service now says we are in for 90 degree plus highs for at least the next two weeks.
Whew!
At this time, we show 77.7 degrees on our digital back door thermometer.

Have a Fabulous Friday, Friends.
And enjoy your Weekend Eve in MMC style!
Thanks crown!! We got a "peak alert" from electric coop this morning. Going to be a hot one! Stay cool!

TGIF!! Our heat and humidity have definitely set in..not too many plans for the weekend except watching some Christmas movies. We may go to the beach and I am sure we will grill out. Hope you all have a great day!
I'll be watching with you!!! :D Have a great weekend!

Happy Friday!

Too sleepy this morning. I hope my morning cuppa tea fixes that quick.

Hope the tea is helping to give you a "pick me up!" Have a good day Merry!

I never had a thunder shirt for Molly & Maggie. Maybe I’ll pick one up for Rocky if needed.

Oh my gosh that made me giggle about how Lucy turned the limping on and off lol. Hope she’s back to 100% very soon!
I hope Rocky doesn't need a thunder shirt!
I hope Lucy's 100% very soon too! Thanks! She'll be with all her friends this weekend, so we'll see how she acts. I keep re-applying Benadryl gel & that seems to help!

Merry Friday MMC!
It’s going to be sunny and warm today with a high of 87 degrees. Not too much going on. I’m going to make a quick Target run. I need to stop at the butcher afterward. Other than that I’ll be working on the laundry. I already straightened up the house and vacuumed. I’m just having a quick cup of coffee before I head out. My oldest is coming over to visit after work. She’s going to stay for dinner, I’m going grill steaks. That’s about it for me. I hope everyone has a nice day and a great weekend ahead!!!
Enjoy the steaks & the visit with your oldest! Have a great day!

It's Friday folks, Thank you God! When I walked out of the house this morning, it was like walking into a heat and humidity wall. Looks like they were right, it's going to be a hot one this weekend. Oh well, it's summertime, no surprises with that; the mosquitos will be very happy!

I have plenty to do this weekend inside the house and outside the house. I gotta get the snowthrower and chains from off my tractor, and get the mower deck put on it, so I can cut the grass. I bet ya, it's 18 inches tall in places. I put the tractor in storage, and it was all ready for winter at the time, late last Fall. So with me just got it out and fired up for the first time, I have to get it ready for summertime use. It's an ordeal to remove all that winter equipment and then get the summer equipment put on, because it all weighs hundreds of pounds each.

The place is so overgrown, that even with the 52 inch mower deck, it's going to get a workout!

Awe!! Poor babies!! Give them (((HUGS))) from me! I hope you don't have anymore storms like that!

Good luck!!!

Good morning all!

Well the heat is turning up... and I don't like it.
The weatherman said there is a 75%+ chance of the heat index being above 95 for the next few days. I looked at my wife and said, "and there is a 100% chance that I will not walk outside for the next few days." :D

I really need to live in a cooler/colder climate. Ohio is great in the late fall through early Spring, but after that just yuck! Once the temperature gets over 75 I think it is too hot.
Oh well, enough complaining. :p

Lots of writing to do this weekend. I am going to try and get a solid chapter done. We are going on a big family cabin stay from July 2-6. It is not just us but my wife's family and extended family and my dad and his wife. I will have some time to write then too, but I will not have internet access at the cabin so I want to spend that time editing.

Everyone have a great day! Try to stay cool.
