There were some firecrackers going off last night - Lucy didn't make anything of them, but they were in the distance. Gracie was scared sh**less of them & storms. She wasn't afraid of them until she was around 2 yo. Hopefully Lucy won't be afraid like Gracie was, but we still have her thunder shirt just incase!!! This is also Lucy's 1st 4th of July! I hope Rocky is not afraid of them & I hope Nittany does well with the thunder vest!
Those storms that blew through here yesterday morning in central Connecticut was intense. I was on the road driving in them and the lightening was wicked at times.
My wife said that our kitties were all freaked out!
Shiloh, she's afraid of any loud noise in the first place, and also, if she hears a strangers voice, swoosh, she's off to find a hiding spot under something. Ariel, usually she's pretty good with everything, but those storms were pretty intense and the lightening was close and sharp and thunder was ear splitting. Jill told me that Ariel just froze, and was looking around and would not move. She walked over to her and picked her up and took her into her walk-in closet and held and played with her. Shiloh, she took off and hid and did not come out for the rest of the day.
My poor girls, Shiloh is very attached to me and when I got home from work, she came out from under the bed, crying and whining and rubbing all against my legs. So I reached down and picked her up, held and comforted her for awhile. She was purring and nuzzling into my whiskers, all curled up in my arms. Breaks my heart to see them so upset.
