Good morning!
It’s going to be a beautiful day, sunny with a high of 76 degrees. Not too much going on here. I’m going to straighten up the house as soon as I finish my cup of coffee. I’ll be heading out afterward to do some food shopping. We’ll just be hanging out by the pool this afternoon and we’re going to grill chicken & ribs for dinner. That’s about it for me. I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day!
xx

It's the weekend. Time to get to making bread and other chores around the house. When we got back from holiday we saw that the squirrels had chewed off all the little plastic perches on the bird feeder. Now the little birds can't sit and have some seed. I'll have to think of another way to feed them. The challenges to having a garden which is open to all.

I was thinking of getting a soda stream. I'm an addict of Diet Coke (been drinking it since the '80s) and thought it would be a good substitute. Anyone have one? Has it helped cut down on other soda consumption?

Have a good weekend everyone.

Good Morning, Folks.

It seems another weekend is upon us. They come and go like ghosts.
And our Christmas Days seem to come and go like ghosts of Christmas present.

But there's nothing ghostly about the count numbers.
They are real, tangible and in our faces.
Behold:
Days to the Season: 129
Days to Christmas Day: 171

But what's really scary is the closeness of our next Milestone.
As we know by now, it's the TWO-THIRDS marker to the Season and it's precisely ONE WEEK away.
Yep. Seven days, indeed.
Just check the chart!

It was noticeably cooler yesterday, but the more comfortable temps were accompanied by rain. OK really, as we needed the moisture.
There is a tropical system off our coast which the NHC says has a very low chance of coming ashore. Also a hurricane in the east Atlantic that bears watching.
Here for today, we may stay below the 80 degree mark, as it is cloudy and raining as I type this.
At this hour we stand just over 71 degrees.

Have a Sensational Saturday, Everybodyl
Enjoy your weekend.

Have a good weekend everyone.

I have a soda stream and like it quite a bit. The syrups are pretty good and there are a lot of choices, especially if you want to order them online from soda stream. I recommend getting a couple of extra bottles because the 1 liter bottles are small if you drink a lot. So I have have three bottles and always make all three at once. That is also nice because you can make multiple flavors. I have never had a problem with the soda going flat, the bottles seal pretty good.
I have had mine now for about 3 years and I still enjoy it a lot.

As for cutting down on other pop, yes, as long as you keep it made and do not pick up a coke every time you go somewhere. But I rarely buy 12packs at all and I used to go through them a lot. Now the only time we buy is if we are having a lot of company over for a party or cookout.

Hope that helps.

Hello all!

We got back yesterday from the cabin. It was a great time and lovely place. Everyone brought A LOT of food, so I am pretty sure I put on about 50 pounds or so. o_O

The weather is a little cooler today, very sunny. Our little garden is growing well and it looks like I should have several pie pumpkins ready for this fall!

Everyone have a great day!

Howdy everyone. We finally got a cooler couple days in here in TN, so hoping to get some real yard work done. While checking the comments over at Mt. Washington and looking forward to the stories of wind an snow. Saw a cute picture of the first snowman of the season.

this little guy was made in june from the June snowfall at Mt. Washington New Hampshire.

Happy Saturday MMC! The weather is beautiful outside. We are not using to much today just hanging out and we are going to grill out later. I am going to catch up on laundry and watch a couple HMM movies. Hope you all have a great day!

Happy Saturday!

The heat wave broke yesterday amid thunderstorms and downpours, and it was blessedly cool all night. Today is about as perfect as a summer day can get: mid-70s (F), low humidity, sunshine, blue skies, and nice breezes. Wish I could bottle it for when I need a day like this! We're airing the heat out of the house and thoroughly enjoying the better weather.

Good morning .... AC off and Windows open! I wish this weather would last the rest of summer ... loving it. Going to take advantage of it and get some yard work later and maybe straighten up the garage. Hope you have a great day.

The weather is so nice today. Upper 70s with a nice breeze. Very comfortable in the shade. My wife and I sat outside for over an hour and not a drop of sweat. I wish all summer weather could be like this.
I totally agree that Summer should be like this all the time. I love Summer, love the sun and warmer temperatures, but it’s much more enjoyable when you can keep the windows open and can actually enjoy being outdoors.

my van died...it was 20 years old and the parts needed are no longer available. So I will drive my eldests bug for awhile until I can find something else.

I’m sorry to here that Star!! I hope you can find a new one soon but in the mean time, tell your oldest you need some eyelashes for the bug!!!!

that is going to be my day today, catching up on stuff now that it has cooled down. My van is at mechanics and will not get it back until this evening so having to stay home helps too !

Love these cooler days!
I hope the mechanic gets your van sorted out.
Have a merry day!

That’s how I spent my day yesterday, catching up on chores with all thw windows open and a strong cool wind coming in, finally cooling off the appartment.

It's good to get caught up before the next round of heat & humidity! I hope that your office at work wasn't too bad and that they get air conditioning in there for you soon! Have a merry day!

Oh, I'm so sorry, CS. I hope you are able to find something soon!
