Christmas Countdown - 2018

Good morning MMC! A late check in from me! I was with mom this morning until the Amish came & I can't deny I had to go home & take a little siesta before coming to work. I didn't sleep great at her house last night! I couldn't keep my peepers open!! Then I got a call from Mandy (Amish) that mom was still sleeping at 10:30 this morning!! She didn't want to wake up! So I went over & helped to get her out of bed. She was really sleeping good ~ felt bad waking her! But Hospice was coming around 11 so we wanted her to eat something, etc. She's been a piece of work! Dementia is real!!

We had a family party on my hubby's side yesterday. They made homemade elephant ears & ribbon fries! Everybody brought a dish. It was so nice out - at Jims Aunts campground/woods. It wasn't a great turnout but it was nice chatting with the peeps that were there.

Not much up for today besides work. The weather is beautiful. I've got the windows open! Hallmark on tv! It's all good for a Monday!!

My daughter is pretty sure she wants the bridesmaids in black, possibly burgundy. She needs to make a decision! They tried on some beautiful dresses today but they have another appointment on Wednesday. Hopefully they’ll find the perfect dress soon!

How fun!! I remember dress shopping for our wedding. My heart was set on red. My friend had red & the pictures were just so pretty! We ended up with navy. Totally wasn't on the radar but when my SIL tried on the dress I was like... THAT'S THE ONE!!! Hope you have some good luck on Wed!

Good evening all.

Well, Nathan found out yesterday that he is not leaving for the Army for another week. His ship out date was moved so instead of leaving this Monday it will be next Monday. The same thing happened to me back in 2002 except I did not find out until I was at in-processing (MEPS) and suppose to leave just hours later. So I had to head back home and return the next week. Nathan at least found out a few days ahead of time.

In other news... the weather has been VERY rainy, but coolish. We had some storms yesterday, but mostly rain today.

Does anyone know if Kringle Radio is replaying Tracking Santa as usual? I hope so, I always enjoy listening to as much as I can. I miss bits and pieces on December 23 and 24 so I really like hearing it again and getting to listen to the parts I missed.

It just really poured this weekend, when the heavens decided to open up!! We had 2 1/2" in our gauge at home! Crazy!
I hope Nathan wasn't too bummed about the delay!! *Prayers*

Merry Sunday!

As CS mentioned, we got some much needed rain, too, and there is more on the way! Yay!!!! Right now it is much cooler than yesterday with a nice breeze. If it clears up enough, I'll start unpacking the truck. My brother and I went all over the thumb of Michigan yesterday looking for garage/estate sales. There weren't many, but we did find a few nice things. This past week has been Christmas in July at all the Goodwills and I have picked up several vintage Hallmark ornaments as well as a few other decorations so I need to finds a spot for them, too.

Good morning. The countdown is sure looking mighty good Crown, with the 100 days to the start of the season coming; yes, so exciting. It's a raining day and it appears that this could be like this for the rest of the day. I'm just relaxing here, working on my second cup of coffee, thinking about what I'm going to do today. The first thing I'm going to do is repair an homemade electrical malfunction that the previous homeowner did. Sheesh, I had a GFI that wouldn't work, so I started to slowly investigate the problem and I discovered it this morning. the electric wiring was installed wrong. I'll fix it and it will be as good as new.

I had an episode last night that scared my wife, I never told her that in the past, I have had a couple of times to where I have flat out, passed out; like boom, hitting the floor full force passing out. I just didn't think about it because it's been a long while (years) since that has happened to me. We went out shopping all afternoon and into the evening, and I had hardly ate or drank anything all day, except for a bowl of cereal first thing in the morning. It got to be around 6pm and we were at Bed, Bath and Beyond and all of a sudden I started to not feel good (feeling light headed, weak, sweaty, my legs got shaky and I had an overall sick feeling. I recognized the symptoms right away and as we were checking out, I grabbed 2 of the largest candy bars and sat down on a nearby bench and inhaled them. Jill was getting concerned because, that is not something I usually do. after about 10-20 minutes later, I stated to feel better. Oh, trust me, it was getting right at that point to where I was going to collapse, because I was getting soaked with sweat.

I have had episodes in the past of low blood sugar, to the point to where I've passed out, big time.

I told her and she was very concerned that I had never told her this before, because it is medically serious. I just explained to her from the bottom of my heart, that since its been a long while since that has happened to me, I totally forgot all about it. So, for now on, she is going to keep some hard candies in her purse, as a just in case thing and I need to better regulate my eating habits. It's my own fault, I should of had ate something during the course of the day and that would of never had happen. Live and Learn....

[Holiday]

Well, it's finally cooled down considerably with the rain. It's supposed to last throughout the day, so it's a day for inside. Grocery shopping is done for the week. There's a pot roast in the slow cooker for tonight, and possibly leftovers for tomorrow. I've taken some bananas out of the freezer to make banana bread this afternoon. A quick bit of lunch and I think it's the best type of day for a Christmas movie. The hardest part is figuring out which one.

Only two weeks to go until the 100 day mark. Time is flying by. Have a good Sunday all.

Elizabeth was starting to get sad this morning, because the show is ending today. Bu there's still plenty to do. In fact, yesterday she auditioned for the next musical, The Addams Family. That should be a lot of fun, too!

Hope everyone is having a great Sunday! Yesterday we went to Hobby Lobby. Just seeing an entire WALL of pumpkins all lined up made me so happy! And the rows and rows of Christmas stuff? I was in Heaven. They had 4th of July merchandise and some summer merchandise 80% off. I got two nice red white and blue garlands for $1.20 a piece. And then 9 summer plates...4 of which were heavy glass. My total for 9 plates and two garlands was $16.00!!! What a deal!

Morning MMC! It's the last week of July already! I am working these next 3 days then off for a little 4 day vacation. I've never felt that I needed a break as much as I do this time. Just looks like we have a humid and showery week for the most part. Should clear up though by the end of the week and into the weekend. Have a good Monday!

Good morning. It’s a great morning for a fresh cup a Java. The big thunderstorm that was a coming for us, just skirted past us and the next town over got thumped instead. We got some thunder, but a lot of rain. It’s raining still this morning.

Sigh, another Monday and a start of the work week. It’s amazing to me, just how quickly the month of July will be over next week and we will then be into August.

I think today I’m going to leave the office a little early, I have a truck bed full of garbage and it’s starting to get to that lovely attractant, that flies within 100 miles away, just cannot get enough of! I got so tied up and busy Saturday, that by the time I remembered to go, it was already too late.

I’m going to head to Lowe’s today after work too and then that’s it for me for today.

Merry Monday!
It’s going to be warm and humid with chance of showers and thunderstorms. Very tropical out there, not a good hair day! Just a typical day of errands and chores for me. My middle one is off so she’ll be tagging along. We’re going to grab pizza for lunch. I’m going to grill marinated chicken later tonight for dinner. I think we’ll slice it up and have it over a big tossed salad. I’m also going to make a warm roasted potato salad with bacon. That’s about it for me. Merry Monday...last full week of July how did that happen?
Looks like we are going to have showers and humidity for the week.
My daughter's foot got stepped on in the middle of her soccer game last night. It is so swollen and I think she is definitely going to be bruised. When we got home we iced it and some advil. We'll see how it is today.
I am just having a cup of coffee and going through emails. Hope you all have great day!

As for our next Milestone marker, well that's now UNDER two weeks up the road.
Of course, we speak of the 100-Day Season Window, and the beginning of a DOUBLE-DIGIT Season count!

Well, a heat rut has now transitioned into a rain rut, with precipitation in the forecast for quite some time to come. In fact, a light rain has just finished falling.
We are currently at 72 degrees, here under overcast skies.
