The big family reunion has come and gone. The highlight of the event was a visit to the train museum in Union, IL. It was a stop for the "Day with Thomas the Train" tour. Yes, we rode a museum train with Thomas as the engine. Whenever Thomas pulled back into the station, all of the kids/families turned and migrated in his direction.
The grandvarmints had a terrific time. They spotted a blow - up Thomas on the property, while we waited to drive onto the site, and blew their parents ears out with their shouts and squeals.

My CIJ presents for our exchange (From LTD) showed up today. I ♥ them. Will be hard to give them away!! :p

I picked up Piper at lunch & brought her to our house. She is absolutely terrified of Lucy!!! She (Piper) kept snapping at her! I brought her back home. Thankfully my niece & her hubby just moved into an apartment in my neighborhood (they sold their house & wanted to get back to this area - they are eventually buying Moms house) so it wasn't far to bring her back home. I didn't trust leaving those 2 together all afternoon alone. She was clinging to me like a cat does!! Could be a very interesting weekend!! I hope they get use to each other!!

25 Disney Christmas stories!! Looks really cute!! I might have to order several more. Lately at our family baby showers instead of giving a card, we're supposed to bring a kids book! I've been bringing "The Pokey Little Puppies 1st Christmas" which is really cute too ~ I'll have to check this one out! (Oh darn)

Stay cool and dry out there.
We are very humid, but had a big cool down. Just had some rain come through, and we remain in the upper 60's.
I like the way you think! Before we know it, Walmart will have their Autumn/Halloween/Christmas out!! I noticed that today over lunch, when I had to run in. School supplies section was hopping.

Me, too. Love Menard's! And their spooky town Halloween village!
I feel like a kid again walking through the Enchanted Forest when their Christmas trees are on display. Love it.

Poor Piper. She must be very nervous.
Fingers crossed that with a little time, they will be buddies. Please give both Lucy and Piper hugs for us.

Was walking at Crabtree Valley Mall this afternoon and look at what I saw!

I talked with the staff lady at the information booth and she said the mall is going to celebrate "Christmas in July" and that Santa himself will be out there this weekend!
(Naturally, I'll be there with camera in hand.)
Crabtree has never done this before in it's 46 years!
 
That's super!

I heard on the radio this morning that Santa, Mrs. Claus and some of the elves paid a surprise visit to the local Shriners children's hospital yesterday, to distribute gifts to the kids for Christmas in July. Nice!
