Holy Moly!
Was walking at Crabtree Valley Mall this afternoon and look at what I saw!
IMG_3944.jpg

I talked with the staff lady at the information booth and she said the mall is going to celebrate "Christmas in July" and that Santa himself will be out there this weekend!
(Naturally, I'll be there with camera in hand.)
Crabtree has never done this before in it's 46 years!
What awesome fun!! And a great surprise! ♥

That's super!

I heard on the radio this morning that Santa, Mrs. Claus and some of the elves paid a surprise visit to the local Shriners children's hospital yesterday, to distribute gifts to the kids for Christmas in July. Nice!
How awesome!!

Good morning, y'all...

Kinda of going through some bittersweet times. We are getting ready to demolish our old high school and my Mom is moving out of the house I grew up in....life is changing...and even as an adult, that can be pretty tough.

We spent last night taking down Mom's Department 56 Dicken's Village and her North Pole Collection. We put them in a box...and she gave them all to me. The hours I spent looking at those over the years around Christmas is amazing. I knew she was going to let me have the North Pole, but not Dicken's Village. My favorite is a piece where Scrooge is standing outside of the place where he danced with his girlfriend...there are moving pieces inside of it. We plugged it up and Bambina just sit and looked....amazed.

More of the same today. Right now, I'm sitting on the deck in 70 degree weather drinking coffee and have my fan on...it sure is pleasant. Y'all have a good day!

Good Morning, Voyagers.
It's a long trip, but our "Milestone Ports of Call" certainly make the journey more enjoyable!

Let's see the latest:
Days to the Season: 109
Days to Christmas Day: 151

And....can it be?.... Yes!
We are down to SINGLE DIGITS to the 100-Day Season Window!
(Wow, Guys. Just Wow!)

Well, we had a dry day at last yesterday, with sun but also with increased temperature and humidity. ("Sticky" is the word the meteorologists like to use.)
Today shows our rain chance increasing again, with a high in the low 90's.
The present reading here in the capital city is 76 degrees.

Have a Fabulous Friday, Friends.
And a great Weekend Eve as well!
Thanks Crown! Can't wait to see those pics from your mall!

Hello all.

Tonight at football practice we had a guest visit practice. A.J. Oulette, which I doubt anyone on near knows, but in Covington, OH is a BIG deal. A.J. is currently at Ohio University (Bobcats) and plays football. He is from Covington and went to OU as a walk-on football player. By the end of that summer he was given a scholarship. He started rotating at Running back in Week 1 and was the starter, as a Freshman, by mid-season. His sophomore year he was the starting running back and named Team Captain, the first sophomore in team history. He was injured that year season in the first game, but came back and had a good year last year. He is still healthy and expected to have a big year. It was neat for him to come to practice tonight and talk to the kids.

If you watch college football keep an eye out for him this season. He gets mentioned on ESPN from time to time and recently did an interview with them.
I have heard of A.J. Oulette ~ and I'll be keeping my eye out for him this year. We are big college football fans! (Mostly Ohio State, but we keep an eye on all of it!) How fun for him & the kids!!
Have a great day ITP!

I like this ideal a lot! I may have to order some too! Thanks for sharing Holiday!
You bet!! "Chicken Soup For The Soul Christmas Treasury For Kids" is an awesome, awesome book! It's another "story a day" book! (25 stories) And it's not really just for kids at all...

I don't think that I've ever heard or seen a Ben Franklin store before. So, I went online to check them out and I found out that the Ben Franklin Stores and Ace Hardware stores are owned by a company called Housemart (or something like that). Very Interesting.
I never knew they were sister companies. Actually our Bens & Ace Hardware are side by side. Hmmmm! And our Ben Franklin isn't a true "Ben Franklin" anymore, it's just called "Bens" but they have all the same things & more as a Ben Franklin.

I had to do the same thing, I never heard of a Menards before. So I went online and discovered that, there are no stores in New England or Mid-Atlantic areas. Looks like they are more centrally and Northern located throughout the country.
Menards is the bomb!! ♥ that store!

Happy Friday MMC! Hope you are all ready for the weekend. I enjoyed my 1st day off and today going to IHOP. Looks like the weekend is going to be nice weather. Low-Mid 80s and sunshine with lower humidity. Hope you all are enjoying your TGIF!
Enjoy your day off, IHOP & have a great weekend!

Well, the weekend is almost upon us. I'm off for a few days camping, so I won't be online. The relatives had a great time visiting and now are in New York city seeing the big apple. I dropped the dog off to friends to dog-sit. They lost their dog last year, so it's a nice time for them to have a furry friend around the house, but not have the full responsibility of having a dog full time.

When our previous dog passed, it took me about a year or so to get another one. I realize now that I was being a bit selfish. I thought I couldn't bear to lose another creature whom I loved for almost twelve years, but now that this little guy has come into our lives he's taught me patience, joy, hopefulness, and so much more. Sometimes we need to live our lives like dogs. Be present in the moment, be curious, and most of all, love unconditionally.

Thanks for letting me wax philosophically. Have a great weekend everyone. Remember, we're almost at the 100 mark.

What a handsome dude he is!! ♥
The day we lost our Gracie was so heartbreaking, we went out & got Lucy the same night! I couldn't stand our house without a dog! Best thing we ever did!
He is one lucky guy!! ♥ Hope he (and you) have a great vacation!!!

TGIF, Christmas friends!

Sorry my posts have been so infrequent lately. Between Elizabeth's play and my travel plans, I've been stretched pretty thin.

We went to a member's season preview at the community theater last night, and I'm pretty excited about some of the upcoming productions! There's A Christmas Carol coming, and a winter-themed Cinderella, along with a few fall season productions.

Right now, Elizabeth is wrapped-up in planning for her school's one-act play competition. There're doing a one-act Music Man, so that should be fun!

I hope y'all have a great day! :D
Sounds like you (and Elizabeth) have been busy!!
Hope you all have a great weekend with a little time for some relaxation!

Happy Friday, Friends!
I am looking forward to the weekend and relaxing. My youngest is leaving for 4-H camp on Sunday and we pick her up Friday night. This is the first time she has been away from me that long, I know she will be fine and have fun.
Hope you all have a great Friday!
Hope your daughter has a GREAT time at 4H camp!!! Enjoy your weekend!!

Thanks! We can’t wait for our Frankenmuth day. We live an hour and a half south of there, so you’d think we would visit more often. But we really don’t. We love the chicken dinners and shopping throughout the town. And of course, Bronnor’s is a huge highlight.
Don't forget to pick up some chicken seasoning...YUM-O!!!
