16 for dinner

I just found out today that all my children and grandchildren will be here for Thanksgiving.
That means dinner for 16. What a wonderful blessing. Now I have to get busy and get a few Christmas decorations up because I will be too busy the day after Thanksgiving to do it.

I will be cooking Turkey breast, green bean casserole and another veggie, probably corn, the little ones always like corn, mashed potatoes, baked yams, gravy, fruit salad, stuffing Balls and lots of pies: Pumpkin, Cherry, Lemon, maybe a coconut cream (my favorite) plus there will be Pumpkin Roll and lots of other goodies, hey it only comes once a year and we are going to enjoy.

Now I have to pray for good traveling weather.

What wonderful news. My s/o is working Thanksgiving so we will eat before he goes to work. I think my oldest and youngest brothers will be joining us. I hope the roads are clear when your family travels to be with you Joyful.

Awe joyful, that is so wonderful!! Everything sounds delicious! My sister offered to have Thanksgiving at her house this year! A few family members won't be there :-( (but they will be "home for Christmas") so we will be with about 25. Isn't that just so fun?!?! ENJOY!!!

Yes we all will be at the table. My parents always were always here for holidays and my dad wanted me to have a huge table so we all would be seated at one table. One year they bought me a new table/with chairs and told me to pick it out but it had to be big to seat all of us. So that's what I got and it made my dad so happy. My parents are gone now but will be seated at that table for they have left some of their character, their spirit in me and their values and morals I have passed onto to my children.
The youngest will be sitting in a high chair that was my parents high chair used for me.

Having everyone here is so neat for I never make my kids feel obligated to come home. They have their own families now and I understand when they want to stay home and start their own traditions. But this year, they all want to come here and I can't explain how good that makes me feel.
