Genre-wise there isn't much I avoid. I'm not a big country music fan, but I have some excellent country music Christmas albums. What I do avoid are the songs that are sorta mean-spirited, or don't seem to have the true spirit of Christmas in them.

What really grabs me are the artists that can take a standard and really put their own spin on it. "Silent Night" is a hard song to do anything new with, but last year Found Wandering released a bluesy take on it that was just outstanding.

Christmas is such a go-go time of year for folks and I think they otherwise miss stuff like this
Going back to the 'have you met anyone' question, I got to meet Elizabeth Chan in New York City a few years ago - super gal! And had a nice talk with Darryl McDaniel of Run DMC, and got a great pic with him.
That would be a lot of fun
Do you get invited to events?
The first time I heard Run DMC was on A Very Special Christmas!
Events: no, not really. There's the radio gig, and an occasional online thing but that's about it.
