I love stories, and for me one of the coziest aspects of Christmas is getting to sit down and read those storeis.
It's a lot to take on, I understand
I think good storytelling is a lost art, so to speak
I believe your podcast has the potential to kind of revive that

Its funny...to me the popularity of Dickens comes from his ability to tell a story
My oldest son has been doing public speaking in high school and has competed in Solo Performance. He's a riot!
I read him every year, it's one of my little traditions

Mine too, I have read A Christmas Carol over 20 times.
Is he a "bookworm" as well?
He does somewhat. I'm probably more shy then he is. He is definitely a bookworm!
Dickens was pummeled by critics in his day and he's not loved by modern literary experts either.
Personally I think there's always been some professional jealousy there
Well, Dickens wasn't perfect - but no one is, that's what I say.
But what I don't think the literary snobs understand is the value of good storytelling
Dickens was well read. It sounds like your son is too
I mean I still cry when I read the scene in Christmas Yet to Come, where Bob Cratchet is weeping over Tiny Tim.
Storytelling is not about grammar or perfect cadence in rhyme or even depth of dialogue
