While going to school
I was invited in to Santa's Office
And he offered me a job writing press releases

What was the first press release you ever sent out? Do you recall?
Oh yes. I put out a press release about a new sleigh design Santa was using
It took me three weeks and a lot of sleepless nights to write it

That's a generous deadline!
Oh I blew the deadline entirely
Santa told me I was going to need to step it up a little
If I wanted to be in the news business
I learned that I was putting far more detail than was needful
I learned I was writing information that adults didn't really want and that children did not understand
It took me a while to understand who I was writing to
