Yes, I know. Not even 5 years ago, they were still putting up fabulous decorations like the ones in this thread. But the area has changed, and I guess they got 'complaints' about the decor. Last year our closest mall didn't even have a tree in their big display area. They had vertical strings of white lights hanging down from the skylights, and that was it. The next closest mall didn't even have that. I also noted that the individual stores weren't decorating either. The big exception is Valley View Farms, and in consequence they get the majority of our Christmas money. I wonder when the Malls around here will realize that they will perhaps get more of a profit it they return to putting up Christmas decorations. The people who were happy and spending money were not complaining. I wonder if those that were complaining spent much once the decorations were stopped.
Ah well.....I should climb down off my soapbox and go to Valley View for some pictures for y'all.
