Nice, Kerst.
Thanks!

Hey! Only 5 more posts to go to equal last year's Blossoms post record.
(Who's will it be??)

ok i swear i'll try to snap some photos of places around town..i'll try for tomorrow...how do you post pics on here?

I don't know how to post BIG pictures like everybody else seems to do but by clicking on the paperclip above right next to the smiley you can add thumbnails, those small pics like I did.

.....how do you post pics on here?
Britt, this is a copy/paste of what I wrote to Ballcoach in this thread on page 2:

Well, Ballcoach, first you have to "host" your digital photos through an on-line service such as Imageshack or Photobucket. Just follow their instructions.
Once you get and copy the link to your photo that site gives you, just click on the square, yellow icon (the one that looks like mountain peaks) above the place where you normally post a message.
A box will pop up. Erase anything in that box, then past the photo link you just copied.
Click "OK" and you're done!
Then just click on the submit button as you always do to place a post here.

Hey! Next post ties last year's record!

thanks a bunch Guys!! I will attempt to post my photos thencheesy

Brooks Brothers at our mall has the classiest storefront Christmas display, in my opinion!

We are looking forward to seeing you contributions, Auntie!

:-? Bad news - nothing much new to share.

I got caught by the camera police in our local Christmas Comfort shop. Privacy policies are to blame for the changes in many malls and stores regarding snapping photos. I snapped a few and when one of the employees shouted to me about what I was doing, I explained that I was helping my father shop for my mother and I by giving him photos of the things we like. I wasn't taking pictures of any of the shoppers or staff - I was still "shoed away". That bummed me out.

The mall tree was the same as last year, but the balls and stars were huge red ones and there were giant yellow ribbons all over it to support our troops.

The Santa at the mall closet to where I live, is the the worst Santa I've ever seen. I noticed him in the Parade. He didn't at all jolly and yesterday when I saw a friend from work encouraging her youngest of two sons to go and visit with Santa, I could partially understand his reluctance. I felt like tossing on the suit myself. He barely even offered a HoHoHo.

I can add a few photos from our local parade, but that's about it until I trek downtown next weekend.

Sorry for the let down.

Your Brooks Brothers window display is nice. Thought of Maureen right away when I saw that. cheesy

Loved your pics of downtown Raleigh, Crown and the other Christmas
storefront pics. Kerst, very much enjoyed your Christmas Market pics
and what a neat ice-skating area too!

AuntieM, I had no idea there were "picture police" out there LOL but it
does make sense that some of them are more sensitive about the photo
taking. At least there doesn't seem to be any problems taking pics of
the Christmas decorations inside the malls or the outdoor displays....just
the cold weather that makes the outdoor ones a little more difficult.

Yes, people are getting more and more sensitive about photos.

I try to follow two cardinal rules:

1) Take the photos when people have cleared the immediate area. (Sometimes I have to wait a while on busy days!)

2) Avoid using the flash setting on my camera.
(If you are in a well-lighted area, most any good modern camera will not need the flash to take a good photo)

By following these rules, I have only been challenged once in the past 5 years during which time I have taken close to 200 Christmas photos, many of them indoors.

OK, some more at Crabtree Mall:

This one is a composit of one of the displays, to give you a feel for its height.

Player piano in the food court, set to play Chrismtas music, of course!
(This is the area where the school chorus and orchestras perform Christmas presentations during the holiday season.)

Beautiful pics Crown!!!!!!

These are some of the pictures I took this weekend when my family all got together for our christmas meal - this place is always beautifully decorated each year! Apologies for the small picture size.

Garlands around columns!
Another Christmas decoration I like to see.

Thanks, Frost!

More lampposts.

These 2 were taken in an old, restored section of Raleigh called Moore Square.

Here are the street pole banners we ordered for our town:

Sorry about the size! We had to special order the "Merry Christmas" banner to change them from "Happy Holidays". You gotta have your priorities!
