I just start clicking away (if I ask, I'm afraid they will say no!) but I'm discrete about it.
I don't take any if an employee or customer is in the immediate area.
And if there is sufficient lighting, I disable the flash.

In many years of taking Christmas photos, I have only been challenged once. The key is just to choose your moment carefully, snap, then move on quickly.
(It's actually kind of fun!)
It helps if you hum the "James Bond" theme song as you steathily snap the shots.

Great Photo's :rudolph:

I love the pictures! I hope to snap some as soon as possible too. Is this just for stores and such or can I put up pictures of my street once everyone has decorated?.....
See my "rules" post in this thread on Oct 10.
Pretty much anything goes as long as it's Christmas Season related, taken this year and not a commercial copy/paste photo.
We are trying to keep this "personal".

Thanks Crown. Snapped a few coming through Macy's yesterday. I'm not a real fan of skinny trees but it sure is good seeing this stuff in stores.

Also, not sure if I'm doing this right, so its a bit of a test as well.

You've got the idea, Unchosen!
Thanks for your contribution - very Christmassy!

I feel our Crabtree Valley Mall is unique among malls since they "grow their own".

In this set of 3 photos, we see Crabtree's 2010 Christmas Decoration crop just about ready for harvesting.

Nice, Kerstig, and so festive-looking.
Love the use of the bus in the display!

This is at Bass Pro Shops in Savannah, GA on 10/17/10:

I really really love this thread. A quick question. When you guys post your pictures and they come out big, are you linking from like photobucket with an img url or are you using the attatchments feature in the message editor?

I use Photobucket.

I use Imageshack and paste their "direct link" into the "insert image" box that opens when you click on the yellow box icon.
