Me too! They were rustic and classy. They would look nice in any home!
He really is. There's something about Santa, especially when he's checking that list of his. I really hope to be on it again this year!

I went to my friend's cottage for the weekend to help send his deck. His cottage is about 20 minutes outside of Perth, Ontario, which is a historic little town between Ottawa and Kingston. We had to pickup a few things on Saturday morning in Perth. We went into Canadian Tire to search for a few power tools. As soon as we arrived, I told him that I had to "look for something" and disappeared.
Canadian Tire usually doesn't start to do any of this until Thanksgiving weekend. Anyway, I was super happy to find the "seasonal" section shifting on October 1st!
How about those Christmas Tree bulbs? The bubble wrap should be off shortly:
Soon, these aisles will be filled with Christmas!:
Don't worry, the Christmas lights were out in full force:

Remember two years ago when I somberly reported that Macy's had decided not to put up a Christmas section because "it was a waste of space"? There was no section last year either.
Well, apparently cooler (meaning Christmas-Friendly) heads have prevailed because this year looks like it's going to be different!

Beautiful! No Christmas at Macy's just 'aint right! Afterall they are the source of Miracle On 34th Street! (and the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade, introducing Santa for the year!)

Stores don't seem to be in any hurry to bring out their Christmas merchandise here. We started getting a few items at work, our main set-up will be done the last week of October. But FINALLY I found a lot of merchandise at Canadian Tire! They're not done setting up yet but it was fun to see part of their collection out on the salesfloor.

[Sears is in trouble here in NC. Rumors have been afloat for some time that they may shut down. I hope not, as I have shopped there all my life. They are a part if my nostalgic history.]
1) Assembled trees in Sears' Christmas section await decorations -- or purchasers.
2) Along with lamp posts and iron railings, I am also a sucker for red bells with Christmas greenery!
3) What could be more joyful than Christmas Cardinals?
