Good afternoon!! I tried to post this earlier, but after I hit send I got a "page cannot be displayed" message. Then when I hit the back button, everything I typed was gone! :( I'm hoping to have a chance this afternoon to read all the new posts I've been missing out on this week...been a busy week! I went to the coffee shop yesterday after work & guess what??? They were CLOSED!!! What a bummer!! If I have time, I'm going back after work tonight. They are open til 6 on Thursdays! Can't wait to try some of their different flavors! I'm sending some in a care package to a friend who just lost her Mom. I got a new Christmas cd from a friend last week...it's Sawyer Brown's Christmas cd! I really like it! Been listening to it in my car! :-D I hope you are all having a great week!!!

Have a great trip Crown!!!

Hello Everyone!!! Sorry for my absence...I've been on the board but not on the beloved countdown...I've been reading but not writing so I thought I'd change that...Hope everyone is doing well as we skate closer and closer the magic season...Can't believe it is less than 100 days...That has me almost speechless...That's it...I'm speechless...that's why I haven't posted...But I am here for the moment and happy to be saying hi!

I sort of count the weeks by Thursdays cause it's pay day and for some reason as I sit in the bank drive up line I always seem to say or think "another week..." And I can't believe how quickly I seem to say that...

Where oh where has our Cedar gone? Oh where, oh where has she gone???

Jay

No Way!!!! DONE??????? What oh what will you do with yourself in December????

Hi friends...Hope everyone had a good day! I worked this morning got home made some dinner and I am off to work another job in about an hour. Wanted to pop in to say hey to everyone. Weather here has been hot but it looks as if the clouds are moving in. So it looks as if we might get some much needed rain.

Hello to everyone -- as August rolls on... (sung to the tune of Old Man River! SweetPea1992= yes, insects become the entire focus of attention here in August -- (in the Washington, DC - Northern Virginia area. The lovely fireflies. Also joined by evidence of the August cicadas. So far the evidence consists of the dry outer shells - left on trees and brick walls and everywhere. The cicadas live most of their life underground. Then they climb up high somewhere and their shell splits and they climb out. But NOW - they have wings. So they fly slowly around (resting most of the time). And they make high-pitched buzzing sounds - sort of like a factory at tree level. (I am not making this up. It is their "mating song". Well, that is August for some of us.

Our entertainment in August is mostly watching insects here in the Northern Virginia/Washington, DC area. Beautiful fireflies. Little Tiger Mosquitoes that bite all day (and really hurt). Old fashioned mosquitoes that bite from dusk to dawn. And cicadas.

I've got this one and it's good!- http://tinyurl.com/6ra5nv Wonder if they will ever record another album?

I feel like I haven't been on the boards in forever, but life is rather busy on my end! T-minus 4 months till the wedding and only about a month until the big move into our house! Life is BUSY! But anyways...I have a day off tomorrow and a friend of ours is getting married Saturday so we're taking a little road trip! Christmas is almost heeeeeeeere!

SparkleNana - I lived in the Roanoke area of VA for almost 12 years...cicadas are definitely a marker of August for much of the country :D They're even up here in Toronto but only on hot days. And since we're in a really abnormal cool streak this summer, I don't hear them that often :(

Good morning gang!!! Happy FRIDAY!!! :D Where oh where did our Cedar go? Decide to stay on vacation with the girls???? I hope everything is alright!!

You all have a great weekend!!!

fall leads to the leaving of Daylight Savings Time, which means we approach Crown's fave nightof the year- where they get an extra hour of sleep.. then their second fave night- Dec 21st.. longest night of the year...... ( longer sleep..)

It's great to think about Labor Day coming AND only 3 weekends left in August AND fall coming...

Happy Day To ALL!

And the Crownster is on the road again. :)) Nice of you to pick up the countdown reins again, Dom!

Howdy y'all. We're back. Returned late lastnight. Missed the cat, missed home, missed thinking out loud on the computer about Christmas.

Missed the 99 day count - read up though so I can pretend I was here.

Ravenhardt is the first member at MMC to finish Christmas shopping for 2008!

Amazing. Come December, you won't feel any pressure at all.

I've barely scratched the surface of my shopping list, but I'm about where I was the same time last year only with an extra roll of Scotch Tape.

I'll shop a bit in early September and finish most of it in Novemeber leaving my husband and my father until about a week before Christmas in case they change their minds or buy what they want themselves before I can get it.

Keep a festive thought in your head!

Good afternoon, Christmas lovers! It's chilly and grey and rainy here in Toronto at the moment...not like a typical August at all from where I'm from (Virginia). It feels like autumn already, which is making me even more excited :)
