It is just as relevant as December 25th being chosen for Christmas. It was agreed upon years ago and has become tradition.

If you're looking for some official pronouncement, here -- I'll make it:

Be it known herewith, henceforth and forever that the official start of the Christmas season begins on said date of 13 November and the countdown to such is led by the noble, righteous, and incurably merry Crown. He, and his minions, are hereby certified, notorized, authorized, dignified and hopefully not euthanized within these precincts to celebrate said season with all manner of mirth, witty reparte, wry observation, good humor and poignant repose.

This I declare by the authority vested in me as the domain proprietor of the only surviving Christmas portal dating back to the 20th Century and the owner of the largest, brightest, merriest, cheeriest and doggone Christmasiest website in the world.

So let it be written, so let it be done.

Hallelujah, holy sh*t -- where's the tylenol?
Wow, Jeff!
I am both honored and humbled.

Besides - Carl can't wait any longer than November 13th! I'm not sure if that was the date the camels started following the star..... but it is a very important date for Carl. Personally, if Carl is happy.... then I am happy.
Carl is happy, Sparkle.

(He was getting a little nervous but Jeff's pronouncemet eased his mind)

I spent one Christmas in Ca. I was 13 or 14 years old and it was awful :( No snow, and just the most um-christmasy place I have ever been. There are many beautiful things about CA. but I have always sworn that is one state I would NEVER live in again.

Good evening friends. Stoppin' in to say hello to everyone. Hi winds here this evening and cold. We had an odd day weather wise here. Blue skies one minute, dark the next, rain for a second and even a little hail. Have a good one!cheesy
