Yay for Christmas! My kids in school have paper chains at their cubbies to count down the days... each day they take off a ring... it's exciting!:tree:

I can't believe that we are so close. One week until Christmas Eve. We decorated our Gingerbread House today. I have to add tags to my gifts tomorrow and get them all sorted by which house they go to. Trying to get it all done before the kids are out for Christmas Vacation.

christmasgranny;141759 A local appliance store left a message on my machine yesterday that "I have a range that a couple of people have purchased for you" and wanted to set up delivery. I called them back said:
Now THAT is what I call the true spirit of Christmas!

:merry:

Somebody loves Christmasgranny!! That is so wonderful, a new oven for the Christmas turkey to bake in. :tree:

cheesy Congratulations, Crown - welcome to "the crew"!

That's great, ChristmasGranny. What a wonderful surprise.

Hope your daughter is feeling better Sandy.

Finally, I hopped to it!

I wrapped five presents tonight. About 25 left to wrap. O'Malley isn't allowed in our room because of the damage he can do, but when I'm secretly wrapping presents he cries like a baby at the door, bats at it with his paws and reaches under to try and find away to open the door.

I left the door open and told him "sit" and he did. My husband said, "are you sure you want to try that?" I said, "yeah, if he comes in I'll get him out, but at least this way the mystery will be solved and he won't drive you crazy with his kitty tantrum while you are watching TV."

It worked out pretty well for the first four presents. It wasn't until I was tying ribbon to one of them that he lost it. He couldn't control himself, it was like I had invisible fencing in the doorway. He was still sitting there watching me, but he knew he wanted the ribbon yet he couldn't come in the room so flipped out, and scurried down the hall.

I'll try it again tomorrow. I don't put ribbons and bows on all my packages, just ones that seem require it. I now have over fifteen varieties of gift wrap and a dozen gift bags of various sizes on hand. Five rolls of Scotch Tape, one on the go and one of the double sided rolls.

 Psst. Still have two more presents to get. Found the gift for my husband. Just have one to add to what mom is getting and something for O'Malley.

We had pretty close to an ice storm here on Monday, it's back to being all snowy again today. A bit slippery in places, but not as messy as Tuesday morning after the rain subsided.

Did you know ... Christmas is coming? Of course you do!

:hi: I can not believe that NEXT week at this time I will be at my parents enjoying my FAVORITE day of the year!!! :hello: Last night I got most of my presents wrapped, tonight I iced cut out cookies & I made the crushed oreo cookies mixed with cream cheese, rolled in balls & dipped in white chocolate, & I made the round pretzels w/ a herseys hug melted in the middle & an M & M on top, AND I made the white chocolate bark mixed with crushed candy canes & crushed pretzels! I made up candy trays for 2 friends & 3 neighbors....Christmas is SO close!!!! I can't hardly believe it's time to be doing all this stuff! There was no school here today...we had ice yesterday & over night & off & on today. The local radio station is GUARANTEEING us a white Christmas. They are saying there is a BIG front coming through, bringing plenty of snow accumulation on Sunday, Monday & again on Wednesday!! I'm dreaming of a white Christmas.....

Have a great evening!

Christmasgranny...that is such a neat story. Thanks for sharing & enjoy your new oven!!!

Just got my daughter off to school for her xmas party. Im just hoping they wont have a Santa Claus there or she'll be screaming her head off!!! lol
She missed most of the week in school because of her chesty cough and as she has asthma I have to be extra careful. Im gutted she missed her concert but its better than her being ill over xmas.

Rain here and temp is 8 c. I would really like the sun to come out now!

Shucks! Thanks, everyone! I'm humbled.

Good Morning, Friends!

Since we have arrived at another auspicious point in our count, let's get straight to it:
Today is Day 36 of our Christmas Season.
Days to Christmas Day: 7 (That's right! ONE WEEK from today!!)

Incredible! How fast the year went. 366 days down to a mere 7.
I hope you are ready, as Christmas stops for no one!

Damp, foggy and dreary here in Raleigh at this hour where our temp has been hovering at 53 for the last couple of hours.
The sun and low 70's are supposed to return tomorrow.

Have a Thrilling Thursday, everyone! And a Fantastic Friday Eve to boot.

Oh, yes! Before I forget.
Bing! Carl asks that I make sure you didn't miss yesterday's Hi & Lois comic strip.
He says it has given him ideas. << shudder! >>

(I thought it prudent to just place a link rather than a copy of the strip itelf, to avoid problems)

Good Morning Everyone!!!

Crown - I love the countdown and I ESPECIALLY love counting the days of the season!!! Together, we enjoy every one of them.

I am thinking about taking a little weekend trip to the Shispering Pines in January. It sounds so peaceful and beautiful. And the combined coffee bar/sushi bar is perfect for those New Years Resolutions to lose weight. Carl's wise presence would be wonderful. It was no accident that the camels brought the Wise Men. In fact, I think a lot of their wisdom came from hanging out with the camels. Those camels don't say much, but they sure know what is important!

We are a wild and wonderful family here, and this countdown helps keep us steady for the long haul. We appreciate it! Merry Christmas, friends.

Carl is deeply appreciative of your kind words.
(You have made a new friend!)

Under a week to go!!
Unbelievable.
These last 8 weeks have zipped by so fast.

Still not done wrapping......

Cheers!!

ML

My goodness....this time is running by....only 6 days to go....so, so fast...but I don´t mind it..I want to take it all in now...enjoy the holidays...be little sad after it...and then go on and start looking forward to it in mid-January...:D

btw...I had a nice day yesterday....My fiance and Kandice went to the Weihnachtsmarkt with my best friend and her daughter...my godchild Kimberly....We have a open air ice skating thing...a small one...but still.....Kimberly wanted to do it...so we wended up going there.....I was friggin cold...and we were skating...while Christmas Song after Christmas came out of the speakerboxes...that was such a great day...besides the fact that Kandice started a pinkeye...but it´s much better already
