Hey --- are you eating anything Christmassy today?

(Does aspirin, after all the wine last night, count as Christmassy?)

Lol!! I would say the asprin definately counts, since it is to cure the after effects of a wonderful CHRISTMAS celebration! Glad you had a great time!! We got together with lake neighbors (who we normally only see in the summer) last night at the lake. Had a super great time! This morning our neighbors (at home) brought over a plate of cookies & candy, so I have had a Christmas cookie & a piece of fudge today! We are heading to my sisters for a Christmas open house this afternoon, so there will be more food to be eaten I'm sure!!! Hope you are all having a great weekend!! Christmas is in 4 days!!!!

No.. we start the new countdown January 1st and within two weeks, we are at our first milestone which is the 300 day window- and Crown-can we add a new milestone-
which is Christmas in July on QVC-s ince theys pend about 25 hours on Christmas merchandise... really kick starts it all if you ask me....

.....We do the Countdown from the day after Christmas? We don't have to wait until January 1st??? Did I get that right???

Why - that is spectacular!! What a brilliant idea!!! I love that!!!!
The countdown to Christmas Season 2009 starts here on January 1st but since the Season begins on November 13, we are already down to 316 by the first of the year, and reach our first milestone, the 300-day window, barely over 2 weeks later.
Always helps a little with the post-Season blues!

THE OPERA>>> PART XXVIII

ACT ONE: SCENE ONE...

Opens with snow falling on the shispering pines combination sushi bar/coffee house. Carl the Camel enters and begins to dispense his favorite blend of eggnog/vanilla spice/blueberry java blend. Binger immediately enters and sings the aria: Coffee; WO/MANS Best friend and I Love Mrs. Folgers... The Camel and Binger exit stage right just as sparklenana enters and looks at the jukebox... instead of happy christmas songs, she sings the aria "Why is the only song here " Ode to Billy Joe" ( Dusty
Springfield hit circa 1970...)..... she then shakes her head and exists stage left- almost bumping into jayish who dances a paus du lux entitled.." Tonight.. The Winter Solsitce.. from the dark into the light.." which culminates with his glow in the dark tights illuminating the backstage.."

end Act One.

Act two: Enters with Holiday entering the shispering pines singing the aria.. "Ode to Joy There is today December 22nd thirty seconds more light than yesterday.. the days will get longer and there will be joy here at the shispering pines.." She thenl eaves and Jayish enters to dance a second paus du lux entitled.." ohhh Canada: look at my Mapleleaf" This brings out Auntie Mistletoe who dances a joint paus du lux with Jayish which culmiantes with both wearing glow in the dark tights which illumiante the emtire audience and half of the block..
end act two...

Act Three Opens with Crown ( lights darken in auditorium)..... entering and announcing to the audience via an aria that sounds like a funeral dirge, that using their new found powers ( besrowed in OPERA PART XVII by Jeff Westover..) That the Shispering Pines is being shut down and Christmas is cancelled.. They announce they are depressed and saddened over the increased sunlight that will cause them to get less than 15 hours of sleep per day. All previous backlighted areas courtesy of Jayish' tights are darkeend and we see Crown trying to dance a Paus Du Lux to "Ode to Billy Joe.." end act Three:

Act Four ( finale):

Opens with Maureen entering and using a special woven plaid, she sings an aria that the tartan Gods have shined a new light upon Crown and they are going to get their required 15 hours sleep per day and the Shispeing Pines will reopen with new plaid tablecloths on each table and new curtains which will allow Crown to pull shut and take a three hour quick nap after the afternoon sushi crowd leaves. In one of the most moving momenste ever in Operatic History, Jayish enters and dances a paus du lux entitled: "Scotch" It isn't just a transparent tape for Christmas.. " The paus du lux ends with Jayish's tights illuminating the EXIT sings for the audience patrons....

End....

Have never really been involved with that before but if everyone would really like to add that to the coundown milestone chart, I have no objections. What day is it?

Eeerie, my friend!
Your opera was posted the same moment as my message.

And what a masterpiece!
(Didn't I tell you - we have a resident master playright in our midst?)

Nice pre-Christmas treat, Bing!
And Carl is beside himself after being cast for the opening scene!
(I'm a little worried - I think he's starting to leak eggnog!)

QUOTE: "WO/MANS Best friend"
Well done, my gender mysterious friend!

:snowball: The Grinches are gone! I'm hearing "Merry Christmas" pretty much everywhere I go whether I'm shopping or not.

Finished shopping this morning. Got everything wrapped and we're heading off to have our little Christmas with my parents shortly.

Don't know if I'll make it into CHAT tonight, but if I get a minute I'll pop in.

Today is the first day of Winter. Longer sleep for Crown.

Hurry over to the Blossoms thread I have three pictures I'm adding to show you that winter's snow has been present where I am for more than just today.

:hello: It was great fun dancing with Jay. Please try harder not to step on my tender tootsies next time.

Bravo Brava, Binger as the case maybe! cheesy

Be right there, Auntie!

Another masterpiece by our gender neutral friend Binger! Not that Binger's gender is neutral but rather we at MMC don't know whether it is a he or a she...Same with Crown...A triumph! If my college dance teacher could see me now...She always thought I was a lost cause!

The sun is setting on the final Sunday before Christmas and we never even left the house...Well...I did to snow blow the driveway but we never left the neighborhood...A quiet build up to Christmas week. Two naps and a big lunch...What could be better! I ought to wrap a few things tonight and then we will be ready for Santa's arrival!

Jay

Binger - your new opera is incredibly powerful and moving! Wonderful! I LOVE the dancing with the illuminated tights! This is a brilliant new milestone for Opera! I assume they are LED lights illuminating the tights (much brighter, and yet less heat which will be more comfy!)

The Christmas Opera!!! Operas have everything - great acting, wonderful singing and orchestras, beautiful dancing, wonderful scenery!

I would like to wear a long sleeved, scoop neck black top and a full, floor length plaid Christmas-Opera dress! My husband will wear plaid suspenders and a plaid tie, with his dark suit.

Crown -- If we get to 316 days quickly in January -- that is wonderful! Much much better than just picking up a few extra days by starting the countdown on December 26th! I forgot that the countdown goes to the Season - not to December 25th!

Christmas In July on QVC should be honored, I think. QVC recognizes that many many people around the world are thinking about Christmas then. True - QVC honors it the only way it can - by selling things. But QVC isn't a person - it is only a business - so we shouldn't be too harsh on QVC. So I support the idea of acknowledging it during our countdown. What do the rest of you think?

By the way, Jayish, did you know that many many people are too tense to nap? It is tragic, but true.

Other people are gifted - they can take a nap. and wake up feeling refreshed!!!

Do you think you could lessons in how to nap - after Christmas? It would make the world a happier place if everyone could use such a convenient, free way to refresh themselves.

SUCH good taste!!!
