Happy Hanukkah -- which begins at sundown on December 21st, and lasts for seven days. Each evening, the children in the house gather at sundown, for the lighting of the candles on the menorah (the candlestick holder). Gifts are given (usually only to children). I don't think Hanukkah is celebrated in every country. But it is celebrated in the United States.

Happy Hanukkah! May the candles be lighted with love and prayers for peace.

hey good morning... just read the Times review.. the Opera is a HIT.. hmmmm must write the sequel.. part 29..

"it was a dark and stormy night.. a good night for string cheese that Crown had ordered stricken from the shispering pines menu... causing great anger and hurt among the paus du lux crowd..."

HI YA JAY DUDE

.....Two naps and a big lunch...What could be better!.....
Hmmm..... Maybe three naps and a big lunch?

Good Morning, my Fantastic, almost-to-Christmas-Day Friends!

Just how close are we? Well, let's take a look:
Today is Day 40 of our Christmas Season.
Days to Christmas Day: 3 (Less than half a week, now! Scary!)

COLD here this morning in Raleigh, with our temp standing at 27 despite lots of sun. (Good thing there is no wind, meaning none of the dreaded "wind chill" factor.)

Quote SparkleNana: "By the way, Jayish, did you know that many many people are too tense to nap? It is tragic, but true."
Oh, good Lord! Say it ain't so!

Have a Marvelous Monday, Everyone - the last Monday before Christmas Day.
(Hmmm.... Don't know if all these "lasts" are making me feel excited or sad!)

110 posts to 5,000.
It's going to be close, but it looks like we will make it if the current rate continues!

Not close now all!

- 1 day, 8 hours and 12 minutes to Christmas eve
- 2 days, 8 hours and 12 minutes to Christmas day

Merry Christmas everyone - I will be so glad when tomorrow is over - Christmas eve day after!!

I agree!!
I still have to work today and tomorrow....
But it's hard to believe it's in a matter of hours now.

Cheers!!

Crown84 -- not sad! Next week we will have all the "lasts" before New Years. And after that..... well, we can have as many "lasts" as we like!!!!

We took the grandsons Christmas shopping for their family. Between the two of them, the pick out one present for their Mom, their Dad, and their Baby Brother. It was so touching to se them discussing and agreeing on which items the people would enjoy!!! (Along with other very important activities -- such as one of them staring at himself (and his newish braces) in the full length mirror for many many many minutes. And returning to the mirror again and again. And the other child carefully, carefully looking over the selections of chocolates - and finally choosing one to be served for Christmas dessert at our house.

Now, off to the drug store, the grocery store, and the wine merchant! I will report back later. Do you have any Christmassy things to report?

I saw Crown looking at themself in a full length mirror- they were laying down on a new mattress and were checking to see if the physics were to their advantage for maximum 18 hour cat naps..

YADDA...

The Mall really wasn't that bad..... I'm already stocking for next year. As gracie ( Does she ever stop by?) says.. "Christmas is either here..or on its way..."

Jay- tell Gracie Hi for me...........

Binger -- it is so true... looking at oneself at a full length mirror (at a store) is a very time-consuming occupation... ESPECIALLY if you are lying on a mattress and trying to check the physics of it.......

The grocery store, drug store, and liquor store were all busy --- but not crazy!!!!! This was good,

I saw a report on Yahoo news that the terrible winter weather is HURTING outdoor Christmas decorations!!! (The strong winds, the heavy ice and snow.) Dear, dear, dear. In fact, those things caused my multi-colored twinkly lights to go dark last night. Luckily, I was able to resurrect them by pushing the extension cord firmly into the outlet where the porch light bulb usually is. I apologize if this explanation is too technical.....

People --- what is going on out there?

Me? Why, I am feeling fine, thank you. Many things remain to be done. That may or may not actually happen. However -- I am going to watch TV and go to bed early tonight. Because REST is not to be ignored at this special time of year.

How about you?

only two times sleeping now...and it´s Christmas Eve .....time with the family and opening presents...we do that on the 24th...I am looking forward to it so much...You would not believe it...I just spend an hour and half wrapping the presents....I´m not that talented in those type of things...so it takes me a bit longer...haha...

And they get so mad when you try to pry the mirror loose and turn it sideways - I just don't understand.

Hey! Only 99 posts to 5,000!

make it 98 and a quick nap is yours....
