Christmas Countdown - 2008

Morning!!! Day 2 of "I'm on holiday" week and today we're going monster hunting to Loch Ness - you may have heard of it!!

That's the one thing about having visitors - it spurs you into seeing things that you would normally not bother doing because you aren't a tourist yourself. Tomorrow we are going to Edinburgh Castle and on a ghost walk, then Thursday we are going to St Andrews to run along the beach and pretend we are in Chariots of Fire, then Friday - another couple of castles a) Glamis where the Queen Mother was born and b) Doune Castle where they filmed Monty Python and the Holy Grail. That one also has the pull of a REALLY good pub nearby!!!

We DID make it through Monday...YAY!! Looks like another beautiful day here. They aren't calling for rain until Friday!

Morning everyone...Lovely day here. The weather has turned for the better. Thank goodness...we got a "skiff" of snow yesterday. It's already melted off and we will have a hi of 57. Hope everyone has a nice day!

I don't think I can take much more of this beautiful weather we are having....6 straight days of sunshine and 78 degrees. We need some gloom around here! Rain tomorrow, maybe then I can get work done.

Nothing on the grill for us tongiht. We are having chicken alfredo ~ 3 of my nieces & my sister are coming over to scrapbook tonight (even though it's way too nice to be inside scrapbooking...) But last night I made a burger for my hubby, a green onion bratt for me (one of my favorites) & grilled marinated veggies!!! OH YUMMY! I ate outside on the patio....what a taste of summer!!!

Evening everyone hope everyone had a great Tuesday. Another beautiful day here, sunny with temps in the 70's.

Planted some more flowers & D/H got the garden done with rotor tiller, so now it's planting time.

On the grill tonight we had red & white hots, roasted potatoes & broccoli with cheese. Tomorrows dinner will be Italian sausage on the grill, baked beans & a tossed salad.

How is everything Cedar, Maureen, Auntie, Jay, Holiday, Annette & everyone else here on the count down.

I'll be gone till late Tuesday- in DC where I will argue a Supreme Court Case: very interesting: Crown vs USA, where they are arguing that Daylight Savings Time is against their personal Constitutional Right to an extra hour of sleep since it reduces nighttime by an hour. Very Very interesting!

Good morning! Happy Hump Day!! Now the weathermen are calling for a chance of isolated showers this afternoon! I sure hope not cuz I've got laundry hangin on the line!! We ate supper on the patio again last night (with my nieces) & I went for a walk w/ my sister at 10:00 & man was it nice out there! I could really get use to this nice weather!!! :smile:

Good Morning All...
Had a busy day yesteday. Minus the darn winds here... I managed to get the whole back yard at my place cleaned up and stacked about 3 cords of wood for next winter. Or even possibly this year to burn since our weather has been so up and down. The hi today looks as if it may be 54 and tomorrow 45. Sounds as if you have been busy planting MMD. Wish I could say the same for planting but with this weather so crazy I hate to plant anything right now in fear it may freeze overnight. I do hope if time allows to plant a few things. But not much since we will be busy adding onto our home. My neighbor Jim asked me yesterday evening if I wanted to dig up a few of his poppy's to plant this year. He has a ton literally all over his yard. So I just may take him up on his offer. I think they are really pretty. I also have some irises I need to replant from the back yard (where construction will begin before to long) to another spot in the yard. I hope everyone enjoys their day. I am off to make lunches...take little one to school and head to work myself.

Remember those Poppies that made Dorothy & Friends VERY sleepy? Then the lovely Glenda sprinkled fairy-dust on them and they woke up to discover the city of OZ! ~ Poppies will always remind me of that scene. That and the scene from "McCabe and Mrs. Miller" (A great 70's flick!) when Julie Christie enjoys some opium tea at Madame Tangs!
