Christmas Countdown - 2008

Cedar...how sad. I hate seeing animals injured. This is the first year in many that we missed seeing the Kentucky Derby. I didn't see the great girl horse fall and didn't know about this. The poor dear but what heart she displayed in coming in second. I am so sad over the fact they had to put the great girl down.
Today was a warm day but humidity was low so this is good. We are only 7 short months away from Thanksgiving and having fun tonight visiting MMC and all the wonderful holiday icons I've been visiting.
I hope everyone had a great Saturday and wish you an even better Sunday.
I'll be working but only for 1/2 day so not too bad.

Watched the race Cedar, yes they did put her down there. We saw she was hurt durning the race he( the jockey) should of pulled back, we were praying when we heard the news that she would be ok but they had to put here down there.

Yes, that was sad. I was watching the Derby with my father and 15-year-old niece. We did not see Eight Bells fall, which actually occurred after the race was over. After the announcement was made the horse was euthanized, my niece was upset - "You mean they KILLED it?". We had to explain the process.

On with the count:

Days to the Season: 193
Days to Christmas Day: 235
We continue to move on toward two milestones: The one half mark and the post that will put us past our 2007 total, now less than 20 away!
That momentous mark should be reached later today or tomorrow.
(Who will have the honor?? Stay tuned to find out. Perhaps it will be you!)

A sunny 69 outside here in Raleigh at this hour. The promise of about 80 for the high this afternoon.
The pollen continues to fall but is on the decline.

Hey Dom!

Binger, like Crown has admitted to being neither male, nor female...Sort of the allure...I have my guesses about both but occasionally they will post something and completely change my thoughts on who they are...Right now...I believe them to be Super Heroes down at the Hall of Justice, watching over us with weapons at the ready to protect us whenever the need arrises...It's just that I can't seem to figure out whether they are Batman, Superman, or Wonder Woman... :snowball

Oh Cedar...I could hardly stand to watch that! I HATE that! So sad!

Oh boy ~ can we not edit our posts anymore??? I could be in trouble! ;-) I'll have to read up on the new changes a little more!

I hope you all had a great weekend! I can't believe it's Sunday night already again! Where does the time from Friday at 4:30 to Sunday night go? The weather was pretty nice this weekend. Except for Saturday night got down right ugly out ~ I have never seen/heard/felt wind like that at the lake before! It was nuts! But we were troopers, outside in our jackets, blankets, & gloves eating Mexican food & drinking margarita's & celebrating Cinco De Mayo! :lol: Today was beautiful though...I hate to see good days like today come to an end!
