Christmas Countdown - 2008

Lovely and sunny here today. Funny, I could just do with browsing a few Christmas catalogues this afternoon!
~Good Morning Dear Friends!
I'm here Crownster. We had to take an emergency trip to Vermont last week and got home yesterday afternoon. David's father had a stroke, he is 84 years old...at that age, you think, "This could be it". But lucky for us, when we got to the hospital, he was sitting up in bed joking with the nurses. "Bud" was sent home while we were there and other family members were there to help...although, at some point, I think family members actually hinder the recovery...too kindness all at once!
OMG, I could have kissed the ground when we pulled in our driveway. So great to come home. To be home! And BIX...I missed him most of all!
So, I think I set a personal record yesterday; I went to bed at 7pm. Ohhh, my OWN bed, my OWN pillows..man, it's good to be home!!! I think I might be looking at 2 days solid on the John Deere tractor...the grass is knee-high!
I missed all of my Nutter Butters and am happy to be back. Thanks to all my friends in Christmas land!! I managed to buy a couple Christmas presents while in Vermont.

Good afternoon everyone hope you are all having a great Tuesday. Sunny here with temps in the 70's today, so a great day to get the laundry done & hang it on the line to dry.
Have beef tips soaking in Italian dressing so I can spear them then add the peppers, onions & cherry tomatoe & cook them on the grill tonight.
So great seeing you back Cedar, I was worried about you. Glad to hear everything is going better with your FIL.

cheesy Welcome back, Cedar. I'll bet you were glad to be home. I imagine it was hard to drive to Vermont keeping positive thoughts for David's dad. I know what you mean about too many family members trying to help.
You missed my rendezvous with Crown and a few tea-drinkin'-Christmas-nuts at the Shispering Pines. When you catch up, you'll see we had a great time making fun of coffee drinkers. I seem to be crossing over to the other side.
And sleep, wow! I know what you mean. That's some good stuff once you get the swing of it. I think closing your eyes is a good start. Thanks Crown - I wondered how it all worked.

Welcome back Cedar! Sorry to hear about Davids dad, but I'm glad he's alright! My Dad had a pretty major stroke 11 years ago...we are so lucky to have him with us (& knock on wood, doing good!) That is scary stuff! And can be a long process! I'll keep ya'll in my thoughts & prayers!
mammaduke, your supper sounds delicious!! I'm having a blizzard from the DQ tonight for supper! Lol! We mulched all afternoon & evening & then I got my hair cut & highlighted so on my way home at 9:30 I stopped & got me a cookie dough blizzard!
And oh is it good!
What a great afternoon it was to be off work! I'm only sad it's over!! I think I'm going to be sore tomorrow from mulching...might be tough to get out of bed! I'm not use to that! :lol:

It's another degree cooler this morning here in Raleigh with the temp at an even 50. This should be the last chilly morning however, and we will return to true spring by this afternoon.

Happy hump day everyone! Beautiful day here in sunny Rochester, NY. with temps going to be in the 80's today before a cold front comes through tonight.
Well the Lilacs are all opened up , bleeding heart plants have there hearts on them & the roses are budding.The grass is greener & the bees are buzzing, so haveing my morning coffee outside in the sunshine.
So glad you are back Cedar & that everything is ok. Have a cup of coffee for me & I'll send you the banana bread to have with it.

Gosh! Still over 200 days to go?! It feels like it's been forever since we had Christmas! Anyways...The temp is nice for now here, but it's cloudy and the mosquitoes are loving the humidy (and biting me). I find myself being jealous of my dog because his monthly flee treatment wards off fleas, ticks AND mosquitoes. Why can't humans have monthly bug treatments?
Good day friends! Hope everyone is doing well. It's a cloudy here today with some wind. Got my daughter to school a little early this morning. They are going on their field trip today to a nature center in Red Lodge. It's almost a 2 hr. drive one way. I am sure the kids will have a great time. It looks like a neat place.
