Yes.. but I sing those lyrics often... " a pretty girl serving coffee is like a melody...."

YABBA.. PAUS DU LUX.. the Passion...

That camel drained the third hump and then went dancing with Jay... and I was without java for 23 minutes and had toc all both Auntie and Cedar to see if they would help me over to TSARBUCKS.... the new Russian coffee place..... with the special LENIN blend... one sip and you start a revolution.....

YABBA! RUSSIA.. the PASSION!

Oh, quit Stalin and tell us more, Bing.

And look, RJD - I found my dog's song.

The Treniers ~ Ragmop (RaggMopp)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TyANRiqzfio&feature=related

The name of my childhood dog. A cockterrpoo mix that looked like a greyhound in the summer and a shaggy mutt in the winter.

She was my best friend and she kept quite a few secrets.

:tree: She also announced the arrival of Santa to me on Christmas Eve-early Christmas morning.

That's cool, Auntie! My Mom used to sing that tune to me way back when! Wonder how many versions of Ragg Mopp were recorded? Crown will, no doubt, be familiar with the Jimmy Dorsey/Dorseyland Jazz Band version. Of the one's I've heard the Treniers version comes in second to the Lional Hampton Orchastra's rendition. Joe Liggins & His Honeydrppers gets an honorable mention as well. There were even a few "white guy" versions including Bing's brother Bob Crosby's. He should have passed. Thank God Bing did! Or did he?

I have a tape of 21 Lionel Hampton songs and that is one of them - possibly my favorite of the collection!

Woof!Arf! Etc.

I know there were different folks singing RaggMopp - you named a few I didn't know about it.

I thought for sure I heard it on a cartoon once upon a time. It was like the tv version of Puff the Magic Dragon or something like that. It'll come back to me as all things eventually do.

:tree: Carl the camel at the shispering pines - cool, I'm headin' over there. I can't indulge myself in the fired twinkies, but some fired watermelon might tasted good.

Indeed I can, Dom, and here's the daily appetizer:

Days to the Season: 164
Days to Christmas Day: 206
(Inside a week now to day 200!)

A sunny, calm 68 degrees outside at this hour.
Some rain yesterday evening but not too much. Keeps things green and settles the dust.

Have a Marvelous Monday, everyone.
And with the spirit of the Season, and the fellowship of this site, that is possible!

Ohh that was a good one.. positively RED like...
Coming from a literary giant like yourself, I take that as a compliment!

Speaking of literary giantism, Carl requests that I ask you when we can expect the next opera installment. He not so delicately inquired as to whether or not he will have a starring role.
(That camel has returned from Arabia as narcissistic as ever!)

Good morning gang!! It's Monday again & it looks like I've got a lot of reading to do to catch up! This must have been a busy place over the weekend! I'm off to read...have a great Monday!!!

Hi friends...A nice Monday here. The sun is shining and we will have temps. in the 70's. The city pool at the local park opens today so I may take my daughter and nephew once they get out of Vaction Bible School. Other than that staying busy with our project we have going on. We got the hole dug for the basement...and I have been calling around this morning to price out forms. Hope everyone has a good day!

I saw that...That leaves Little Richard and Chuck Berry as the only original rock & Rollers left...Bo Diddley always said that Alan Freed coined the phrase "Rock & Roll" when referring to him and his Bo Diddley beat...

He was a little bitter...Old Bo...About the money he never got paid...But he kept on playing...Up until the stroke and heart attack last year...

One of the great live albums, in my opinion, is one with Bo and Ron Wood of the Rolling Stones, Live at the Beacon...What a GREAT record...

Jay

Hey guys I am back, due to money our internet was shut down for the last 10 days. I hope all of you are doing good. The weather here is sunny & warm.

Glad to see that you are back in the swing of things, Debbie!

Oh man, Bo Diddley died!

Ellas McDaniel, aka Bo Diddley, received his first guitar in 1940 at the age of twelve as a Christmas gift from his sister.

Welcome back

Man.. Bo Diddley was one of the original rock and rollers..... bummer...

YABBA.. Original Rock n Roll... the PASSION
