Since there were not many messages posted here today - I assume that everyone was either (1) working hard or (2) snoozing. Either one is fine!

Hey all,

Just popping in to the countdown thread to say hi to you all... I'm keeping tabs on the countdown with the subscribed threads option..but dont get that much time to actually come on here and post too often these days *boooo*

I'm going to try and make the extra effort to come in here, and say hello at least once a week from now on!

Anyway, good job with the countdown Crown...as always you're doing a stand up job! And a big thumbs up to everyone posting in this thread, helping to keep all our spirits up, and keep that festive cheer around all year long! Amazingly, I havent so far suffered too badly with the post-christmas-blues like I usually do every year! Might have something to do with I'm trying to do something to do with Christmas each week, to keep the season close to me!

Over the weekend I watched all of the episodes of Stephen Fry in America, and bought the book too. (For those of you who dont know it, Stephen Fry travels to all 50 states in the US in a london taxi, discovering the 'real' America, and what makes USA the way it is) Anyhoo, Ive always wanted to do this, and really should have done it when I left school! So, I have now added to my list of 'things to do when I win the lottery' to travel around all 50 states ;-) What would you all do if you won the lottery?!?

Right, must get on with some work.... will be back to post again as soon as I can, and I'll be keeping up with this thread in the background!

Seeya,

Scoob.

346 till Christmas fellas....:D

just got up a few minutes ago....Kandice is allowed Strawberry Shortcake now...then we are working a bit (she always wants to be a little helper...) and then I will go and renew my passport.
For the working people here....Monday will be over fast.....and the weekend will be there in no time....

.....I am suffering from a terrible case of insomnia lately.....
??
Insomnia? What's that?
??

Good Morning, Everybody!
Sleepy Crown here to welcome each and all to the start of another glorious week - another step closer to our Fantastic Christmas Season.

How close are we this morning, you ask?
Glad you did:
Days to the Season: 305
Days to Christmas Day:347
As everyone can see, a milestone will fall this week - on Saturday, to be exact - the 300-Day Season window. And through that window we shall see another, even bigger one, the 1/4 mark! And then another.....and another.....until Christmas Season 2009 is upon us!
Exciting, isn't it?

COLD here again with our temp standing at 34.
By Thursday or Friday, we are supposed to be in the teens for lows and 20's for highs! BRRRRR!

Have a Marvelous Monday, Fellow Christmas Comrades!

Hi Crown 84. Wow! We hit the 300 mark on Saturday!!!! Can you believe it? Actually, I am happy to have 300 days to play here and do fun Christmassy things in the spirit of "getting ready for 2009!"

Are you watching the results of the Golden Globes awards last night? Actually - I don't know what the "Golden Globes" is. But the awards feature beautifully dressed actresses blowing kisses to Leonardo DiCapriano (and saying how they have loved him for 13 years. Kate Blanchett had that electrifying exchange!) A little movie glitz for a cold winter day!

ShinyBrite started a new thread on doing something Christmassy on the 25th of each month. And the idea of a turkey dinner was raised. Sounds delicious to me. Are you thinking food?

my grandparent´s gave me 40 Euros today to buy a nice sleigh for Kandice....so as soon as it snows at some reachable point.....we are going and Kandice will go sleigh-riding....of course....I am happy bout it, too...:D

Hope everyone had a great Monday....we just had some chicken...and fries...not much of cooking....but pretty delicious...:D

anyway....take care and God bless

Tanja

I loved going sled riding. We used to go down this really steep street that the road crew would never plow or salt. It was fun but, looking back it was really dangerous. We would go sailing down the hill 2-3 people in a sled hit the bottom street and sail across that down an embankment and into some lady's yard and then into the woods. It was quite a ride. Oh, the good 'ole days. Kandice will have tons of fun and I'm sure you will too. I just hope that you get enough snow to do it. Keeping my fingers crossed.

another blizzard warning tonight into tomorrow!

then by the end of the week, we are in for a deep freeze!!! -16 to -18 deg celsius

sam champion on good morning america said that if chicago doesn't get another flake of snow for the rest of the season, we'd still be above normal for snow amounts

i love it!!!

Happy Monday! Im glad my workday is almost over. I have a terrible cold and being 8 weeks pregnant I cant take any med's :-?

sounds really dangerous...and it kinda reminds me of that scene in National Lapoon´s Christmas Vacations...:D

about the snow...there is some type of low mountain around 45 minutes away from here...there´s usually snow....so i will keep that on my mind and check there weather...and then we will go there to sleigh-ride....

MsChristmas....sorry bout that cold...I remember how it was not to be able to take any medication....

I remember going sledding too, we had this huge public hill a few miles from our house, with a little shack at the bottom of the hill that always had a fire to warm up. And a thermos of hot chocolate when were were done, yummy.

It's snowing again, we're getting another 2-4 inches, then another 3-5 inches on Wednesday. As of last week, before our last snow storm dumped 6-10 inches, we were 1/2 an inch below the 'average' snowfall for a whole season! We're doing good.
