Crown - I'm having a hard time seeing anything but white today!!! :lol: We got about 10" of snow overnight & this morning! It's BEAUTIFUL!!! :-D My boss called me as I was about to walk out the door this morning & told me to not bother coming in!!! :dance: Didn't have to tell me twice!! I had a nice snowy day at home w/ all my candles burning. I whipped up some sugar cookie dough (going to make snowmen & snowflakes for my Moms b-day party) did a little cleaning, a little shoveling, brought food over to the neighbors this morning (his Dad passed away)...all in all it was a pretty good day! Back to reality tomorrow!!

good morning....everything great over here....not much work to do....so besides me on the internet....it will be play time with Kandice...so it should be a fun day!!! oh yeah...and go to the city with my mom and help her find her birthday present
and just for the sake of reaching the 700 mark by Sunday...I posted this....

Good Morning, All.
Chilly here this morning at 37, but no white stuff.
It's sunny for the first time in days with no rain predicted for the near future.

As regular browsers of our Milestone chart will notice, the 1/4 Christmas Season mark arrives 2 weeks from today - the first of our percentage markers. Then, the 300-Day Christmas Day mark will fall barely 2 weeks after that. Hey! It will start to seem like they are going down like dominoes!

Today it is 22 degrees out but, it feels like it's about -20! I am freezing and I am rarely cold. I have my heat up to 68 and it usually is never higher than 65 or 66 when I'm home. It's cold today! We got some bad weather the past couple of days. Tues. it snowed overnight making for rough driving conditions on the way home from work Tues. morning. then Tues. night into Wed. we had a storm come through which started out as snow and turned to freezing rain/rain (which destroyed all of our nice snow), then it switched back to snow and dumped some more on us. My car was so frozen over that it took me a 1/2 hr. to get it cleaned off to go to work last night. I missed work on Wed. because of the ice. There have been accidents here and my husband has been busy running fire calls to go and rescue these people who have flipped their cars upside down from the poor road conditions. Now it's Thurs. and it started snowing again overnight. It's still snowing now and my classes at college were cancelled for today. The roads were looking pretty bad on my way home and my driveway is like the frozen tundra. It should all thaw out this weekend since it's supposed to be above freezing (35) on Sat. and Sun. Hope everyone is staying warm!

The weather here has been quite Christmasy. We got a couple of inches of "powder" over about an eight inch base. The neighborhood looks like a christmas card. Only a couple of houses still have some of their lights still on. I still have one string of lights on the garage and a reindeer still lit.

I took the day off today to take Grandma Eagle to one of our local hospitals for a minor "procedure". As with anything Doctor related and at her age (89), you never really know. Prayers are always appreciated.

Iron Eagle -- You are so right! At age 89 - anything medical is a big deal! prayers have gone out for Grandma Eagle!! Chicago has had an amazing amount of snow this winter! And I saw the cruise ship stuck in the ice on one of the great lakes! Wow! Be careful out there!
Good Morning! hose with electricity should feel very lucky! There was a notice on Yahoo that people in the midwest USA could be out until mid-February! That is too cruel!!!!
I saw delicious hot cross buns for sale in the grocery store today. (I think that is a sign of Easter and spring!) They were $1.99 for eight cute small ones, and they had fruit in them too! Yum!

Hi trackrebel! Hot cross buns are rectangular white-flour buns - which have a cross on each one in white icing! They are baked and sold in multiples. The really good ones have bits of candied fruit in them. But I like all the versions. They are not at all heavy - light - for breakfast or afternoon tea!
they look like Rosinenbrötchen (raisin rolls/buns) to me...not so much into them....but most everybody I know loves them....I´m pretty sure that´s almost the same.
I think the 700posts mark will fall before Sunday the 1st of February!!!
Good afternoon!!! We've got a windy day today to blow all that snow around!! Our UPS man was just in saying that it doesn't matter what road you are on or which direction you are going - snow is drifting!!! It sure looks pretty from the inside looking out!!! I just have a short jaunt to get home, but tonight we have to go to the funeral home - ugh! Sounds like there's more snow coming tomorrow!!!

Good afternoon, Friends!! I hope the day has been treating you well!!! It was a nice day albeit cold - the kind that seeps into you and nothing seems to warm you. Spent the day with friends celebrating a birthday. It was fun - good food and conversation is always nice. Came home and the driveway was plowed - woohoo!! :dance:
