Good morning! It's quite a miserable looking grey day today, but at least it feels wintery I guess! My husband said last night that we could get out the christmas decorations and do the decorating this weekend, so excited!!!

Thursday morning...

35 days 16 hours and 43 min til Christmas!!

I have 2 meetings to go to today, one for work and the other to get ready for our annual Santa Claus parade!

Good Morning, Folks.

Just enough time to post the count, then I have to run to class.
(We have to take 12 hours of insurance training a year to keep our NC adjuster's license.)

As such:
Days to Christmas Day: 36 (Five weeks from tomorrow!)
Days to Thanksgiving Day: 7 (one week from today, Friends!)

Have a Thrilling Thursday, Everybody!

morning all....hope everyone has a good day...gotta run....NO BALLGAMES TONIGHT! YES!

Getting Christmas cards in the mail almost everyday now, it's great! Thanks.
(my neighbour can't believe I am getting cards already...till I pointed out that it is only 34 days until Christmas!)cheesy

Mornin' everyone! I can't believe the count is getting so close to the big day! I don't know when I'm going to fit Christmas shopping in, but it's gotta be done soon.

I went to that meeting yesterday and learned that it was, indeed, an interview (good thing I prepared for that!). She was really impressed with my background in Girl Scouts and said she's going to recommend me for a second interview, but to not expect to hear back from them until early next year. :-?

The job would be interesting. For the first year, I'd be training underground in the mines (they're a coal mining and processing industry). Then, after that, I'd start on whatever career path I wanted. Even though I'll have to wait a loooong time to hear back from them, I'm going to actively persue this job (while searching for other jobs, of course!).

Anyways, enough rambling about myself here. I hope everyone has a wonderful day today! In exactly one week, we'll be smelling the heavenly aromas of turkey and stuffing and cranberry sauce and mashed potatoes and yams and ... I'd better stop myself there. I could keep going with that list!

I am really looking forward to Christmas this year and I can't wait until Thanksgiving because I always feel like that really kicks the season into full swing! :tree:

I'm going to have un-Thanksgiving along with Thanksgiving this year. Because I know what I am definately not thankful for this year. Yesterday I found out that I have a staph infection in my foot. Yaaah... That means no New Moon, no Thanksgiving with my granny on Saturday, no helping my wife prepare Thanksgiving dinner, no in the house decorating unless we wait 2 weeks. And to top that off, I have 8 days to get into walking shape for Black Friday. I am not missing Black Friday shopping. Even if it's just a few hours instead of our usual all day marathon I will get better by next Friday. All I have to do is find a way to sit on my butt for the next 8 days and do absolutely nothing but watch Christmas movies. I think I am up for the challenge.

Good Thursday morning, my Christmas friends!

It's an overcast, dreary sort of day, but it won't dampen my spirits. Thanksgiving is a week from today! Our company gives us Thursday and Friday off, and I plan to take the following Monday off (the kids are out that day, too) and hopefully go to the mountains for the long weekend. This is, assuming my labrador, Ben, continues to improve in his health.

I hope you all have a great day!cheesy

Mornin' everyone! I can't believe we are one week away from Thanksgiving! I also can't believe we are going to start decking the halls next week also! I have a short school week also. Classes are only on Monday and Tuesday.

I once had a staph infection in my foot. With an antibiotic, rest, and keeping my foot elevated, it was cured in three days. And I got to catch up on my reading and watch movies. So, not too bad. Best wishes for your recovery.

Congratulations on the recommendation, Snowfall! Good luck with the rest of the job search as well.

Good morning, everyone!!

We are nearing the five day mark until a month before Christmas. Kim is returning to Cornwall this weekened for her nephews' third birthday. They're growing up fast! Because of this, we went to the mall last night to purchase them a few gifts. Due to essays and proposals, I am unable to attend but I am sure she'll have a great time with them!

The speakers in the mall were not too audible but nearly each store we entered was playing Christmas music. Another fantastic sign! All Kim could do was shake her head bacause she knew why I was smiling.

It's another beautiful day in Ottawa. Mostly sunny right now and 4C (39F). Rain is expected tonight all the way until early Saturday morning. With the weather we've had, I have no complaints. It would be nice to have snow, but I think it will hold off until December. The 14-day forecast is above seasonal until the end of the month.

Well, we're counting down quite well. Today marks my final three day work week of the year. I only work two days next week and then I am done until January. I need time to do my essays and assignments next week. Plus, I informed them that I am returning home for much of December. Even with that, they want me back in January... Ahh the benefits of being a student.

I think this will be the weekend where I actually do some shopping and mail my Christmas cards. But, essay completions, proposals and other assignments will be the judge of that. Have a great Thursday, everyone!!! Continue to enjoy the Season!
