FYI: For those fall decorating. (I know I have mentioned it before on here)

We sell both hay and straw bales. We always suggest buying bales of straw over hay. It is more water resistant and least likely to mold like hay does. If you get a choice wherever you buy it, go for straw. Most people think the straw is prettier too. cheesy
I had to use straw this time because I couldn't find a local source for square-baled hay. All the local folks have gone to round bales.

It turned out pretty good, though. My daughter suggested that we put a bale of straw in a wheel barrow and decorate that. It looks great!

Going to the lake today, no reason, just want to go.
Hope you had a great day!

My phone at home rang at 6:15 this morning. I'm a councilman here in our small town, and I started getting complaints that the water wasn't working. So, I got in my truck and went to the well pump on my side of town. Sure enough, it wasn't working. I went to the other side of town and opened the valve that shares that well with both sides of town. Not as much pressure, but everyone gets some water. My phone was ringing the whole time...LOL! Anyway, the pump-guy is coming to fix it today. Ah, the rigors of small-town politics.
Small towns communities are amazing (wish i could live in one, but they are scarce in Holland and they mostly lack universities) people like you are amazing and really needed :)

We started decorating the house side this past weekend. Got the corn stalks up and of course the squirrels have already been attacking them, still have to get the haybales and pumpkins in place and then decorate the deck. Will pull out the halloween lights this week to test and get them ready to be put up this weekend.
Sounds like so much fun :) hope it turns out pretty

We got pumpkins and corn stalks in at work! I felt awful at work the other day but that did put a smile on my face to see Autumn arriving at work. People were buying up lots of bales of straw for decoration too.

Thanks to all for your get well wishes. I feel a whole lot better today.
Good to hear you feel better :D your work sounds great

We did get our Halloween decorations up except for the outdoor stuff, LC is afraid of most of them, even though they are not really scary, just a singing Frankenstein, and a wise cracking skeleton. The boys chose their costumes, JP is going to be Dracula, LC a cowboy.
Sounds cute and like a lot of fun What age is the cowboy ?

Had a really bad day today :( when i was making coffee this morning my boyfriend was taking a shower and at once we heard a whole lot of water falling... turns out there was a leak or something... our entire house was wet! And my classes were just ... well what can you expect :P

Hope you all had better days.. Will try for that tomorrow :)

I'm sorry about that, kerstig. Water leaks can cause a lot of damage if they go undetected. Since it was a big leak, at least you are aware of it and can get it fixed. Good luck!

Sorry to hear. I hope your day gets better!

Speaking of wheel barrows. I have an old rusty one in the back yard. For fun my grandfather use to push me around in it when I was 4 years old. I remember that very well and the last memories I had of him. He died that year and I will never get rid of the wheel barrow. To others it looks like a rusty piece of junk but to me it's full of memories.

Great idea Bradmac! I should fix it up and put a bale of straw in it. cheesy

Good Morning Everyone!!!!!!!! It is another chilly morning here in central Indy where we had a light frost last night!!!!!!!!!! Unfortuantely we are going to start warming back up the rest of the week until we hit the low 80's by this weekend. I don't really have anything planned for today. I will probably watch the funeral for the police officer that was killed on tv. I hope everyone has a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!
We had a police officer murdered during a bank robbery in our town years ago. My mother and I were driving somewhere and got caught in the funeral procession and had to pull off the road. We waited over 30 minutes for the line to drive through. It was a sad site but also amazing to see officers from all over the state of Texas in that line up.

It's really sad because it seems like every year a police officer in our town is killed in the line of duty.
Good morning,

I wasn't able to come on yesterday, and it seemed like a missed a lot. Not much going on around here, it is raining yet again and chilly, but have held off on turning on the heat still. We did get our Halloween decorations up except for the outdoor stuff, LC is afraid of most of them, even though they are not really scary, just a singing Frankenstein, and a wise cracking skeleton. Have a great day!
Aww.. Those costumes sound great! I hope you can post some pictures!

That's terrible... hopefully the leak can get fixed right away and you start having a better day!

Evening all!

Well I have got a upset little girl this evening, she is cutting her top teeth and they are upsetting her, i've given her everything I can but its awful when theres nothing else you can do! She is just having a bottle and cuddle with daddy then hopefully she will get some sleep.

Hope everyone is having a great tuesday! x:snowball:

I remember that drought. It was tough on everyone in your area.

I had no idea some folks get their water from the streams. I guess you have to hope your neighbor up-stream is being considerate!
Most of the streams are underground. Folks will dig out some of it and run PVC pipe into the stream then pipe it into a reservoir. It is all gravity fed off the mountain. You will occasionally get a spring lizard pass through the filter and pop into the bath tub...

Boom! 4000 posts!

Okay, I had to get that out of my system.

I've seen the "diverted ponds", I just didn't know the water was used in homes. I bet a lizard in the tub will create a little excitement! cheesy
