Well folks, this is it. We stand at the threshhold of Christmas Season 2010.
(And what wonderful sights, sounds and odors waft through the door!)
Days to the Season: 1 (Tomorrow. That's TOMORROW. What more needs be said?)
Days to Christmas Day: 43 (Six weeks from tomorrow!)
Days to Thanksgiving Day: 13 (UNDER 2 weeks, now!)

Astounding! The year has gone so fast. Over 13,000 posts have been placed here. Our (not so) little thread has been looked at over 160,000 times. And now we stand under 15 hours away from our long-anticipated and precious Christmas Season!

Calm, brilliantly sunny and downright cold here, with the thermometer at 38 degrees. No precipitation in the forecast for a while, though.

Whoever can, please be here as we count down the final hour (Eastern Time) to Christmas Season 2010.
It's an annual event you don't want to miss.
(I get the sneaking suspicion the posting rate may jam the boards this evening!)

1 Day to the Season? Well, Crown, we've almost made it. Thank you so much for guiding us throughout the year. It has been a magical ride and I am very excited that we will "Step into the Christmas Season" in mere hours!

Good Friday morning, my Christmas friends!

One more day to go! I can't stay up till midnight tonight, I have to open the store for my father-in-law at 6 am. But I'll be here as long as I can!

As some of you may know, I'm on my local city council, and I'm a member of a non-profit group that raises money for city beautification. Last year, we bought Christmas banners for the light poles down the main street. We wanted to buy lights for the poles, but they are SO expensive! Well, we were contacted by the mayor of a neighboring city. They have bought new lights, and they want to donate their old ones to us! A little work and they'll be great!

I'm supposed to go to their storage building today with my trailer to get the lights. I'm excited! :dance:

oh i'll be snoring my head off as everyone else hits the season!

never mind, i'll be here in spirit.

took my 13 month old to the grotto today, she was a bit "meh" about the whole thing. i was clearly more excited.

on the plus side my 2 and a half year old goddaughter was with us and she was delighted! she was asking santa all sorts of questions and afterwards was saying to me "oh he is lovely father christmas, isn't he?" it was very cute! she keeps asking if we can go back and see him again. the answer is of course YES! i plan on taking them to every grotto in the land.

Although your 2 and a half year old goddaughter may not remember such a memory when she grows older, I am sure it is one that you can cherish forever. She sounds adorable!

Question:
How will you all mark the Season begining?
For me, the Season advent means I put away my usual music and start listening exclusively to Christmas selections.
I also switch then exclusively to Christmas movies.

I will mark the Season by playing Jingle Bells by the Barenaked Ladies. It is the song that his ushered in the Season for the past five years. I've started my own tradition!
I am entirely with you on the music and movies, Crown! It is going to be a wonderful Season! Kim and I may put up our Christmas lights tomorrow night! Woohoo!

I have already started on my Special Post for next year, just in case I am chosen to present one. I try to keep my heartfelt thoughts in a document to give me ideas.
