126 posts needed by Thursday for an all time record... 2,000 posts in ONE Month...

YABBA!
2,000 in one month will be incredible. In fact, I have a feeling that the record will stand until about.... October!

Well, when I started reading this board it was 8:15...when I finished it was 9:28 because I feel asleep. Imagine that!!

Bout to head to bed...see yall in the morning. TOMORROW WE GO TO THE PINES!!!

Don't worry, coach! In honour of Crown, I will do my best to ensure that a trip to the PINES is announced tomorrow!

It was cold and rainy all day here today. We reached a high of about 12C (53F). Kim texted me today complaining about the humidity in Ottawa. North Bay is only three and a half hours straight west of Ottawa, however, the temperature in Ottawa was 31C with humidex. Almost 20C difference?! Baffling!

Good night, everyone. See you in the morning for a countdown!

Good evening all,

Working in the freezer tonight while breaking down the pallets of food, I noticed the turkeys are starting to filter in for Thanksgiving, I had to make room and put away 13 cases of turkeys, not much but triple what we usually get, in a few weeks I will be making room for over 100 cases in one delivery, on a sour note there is rumors going around the store they are getting ready to lay-off people and I am worried I may be one of them since I am one of the most senior employees, and they could replace me with a couple part-timers for less money. I should know better than to believe rumors but it just sticks in the back of your mind when you hear that. I have the day off tomorrow, and may take a run over to Kmart with LC to see if Christmas is set up yet. The Red Sox were officially eliminated from playoff contention tonight, so I guess baseball is done for me, but I will root for San Diego Padres (if they get in) or Cincinnati Reds, without watching it. Just not the Yankees, please.

Have a good night!

Good morning to all!

Hey Xmas...excellent profile pic - and what a beautiful photo in your signature!

I see CM has an awesome new profile pic too! Love it!

Well...the weather sure has changed over the last few weeks. I was noticing everyone with the coats on outside - and it just made me more excited about the Christmas season! No more trying to "imagine" cold weather. No more imagining Christmas decorations...because its all starting to happen now!

On my way to work and I was thinking about all my Christmas friends. I may not be here as much as I was (and I'm hoping that will change) - but I just want you to know that I think about all my Christmas friends...and that I hold Christmas in my heart!

Have a merry day!!!

To update from yesterday:
My mom is still in the hospital. Thankfully, they didn't let her leave. I am really struggling with this because I am angry about some of her choices and feel like she needs to make a real change before I can welcome her back into our lives.. but it's hard to ignore the multiple phone calls from the hospital from her. I just don't have anything to say at this point. I really hope she will take the help she is getting there.

I apologize for being Debbie Downer here!
No need for apologies! I am so sorry you are going through rough times with your mom. I pray for you all and a speedy recovery for your mom.

Kandice is really recovering.....been jumping around alredy all day, playing nicely and been dancing for me for the last 30 minutes....hilarious and totally cute
I am so happy that she is doing better! It is so hard when your little one is sick.

I am glad you enjoyed a great dinner too!
Good Afternoon Everyone!!!!!!!! It is another cool and cloudy day here. I spent all morning working and then came home and helped my neighor tear out his garden. His tomato plants were still going strong but he decided that he didn't want to deal with them anymore. This afternoon I have some paperwork to get ready to send to my boss and then I need to finally finsih cleaning the kitchen. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am jealous! I will take your neighbors great tomato garden! I never have too much luck with veggie gardens and I really need one. I eat LOTS of veggies everyday!

Very nice of you to help him. You sound like a great neighbor to have! I think it's the spirit of Christmas in you! =)

My Hubby FINALLY got his bonus that he has been promised for over 2 months. My Birthday is in 2 weeks and we have a wedding to go to on Saturday. Things are going good!
Congratulations on his bonus! That is a nice early birthday present for you! =)

I hope your job is secured and it's just rumors!

Got up earlier than I wanted to but I have been nursing a stray cat back to better health in the past few days.

The sweet stray cat that hangs around our neighborhood, we named Larry, showed up the other day with congestion, runny nose, eyes and unable to meow. Ugh! It breaks my heart! I am pretty sure it's an upper respiratory infection.

I sometimes will not see him for days or even weeks then he shows up on my doorsteps like he is asking for help. I have some antibiotics and have been trying to treat him. He left the other night and Wayne and I drove around looking for him the next morning. I found him and brought him back to my house and this time he hasn't left. He sleeps on my porch or under a bush. He is starting to eat better so I am hoping he will recover. He is also started to meow since some of the congestion is going away. I would give anything to bring him in but I am to the limit of pets in my rental house. I also cannot chance him infecting my other cats. My neighbor feeds him too and watching out for him as well.

Some have suggested that treating him might be a waste because he will just get sick again being outside but ignoring him is not an option for me. I will not sit back and watch an animal suffer.

I hope everyone has a great day!

CN tower visit

me and my girls in the skypod, which is 30 stories above the glass floor (or 1,465 ft above the ground)
this is the glass floor, my son is trying to convince his sister that stepping on a piece of glass 1,122 feet above the ground is actually safe!
it was a nice sunny day and the shadow of the CN tower can be seen here.

We had a great day yesterday visiting the CN tower in Toronto.

Morning everyone! Today's high is about 70, kind of warm for fall if you ask me but as for right now we're in the low 50s. I definitely didn't want to get out of my warm bed this morning, but maybe when I get home I'll take a nice nap :)
Have a good day everyone!

Christmasstar, we stepped onto a glass floor in the Willis Tower in Chicago (formerly Sears Tower). It's a little freaky!

I am glad you all had a nice time!

I want to visit Canada someday. Well, it's starting to feel like fall. This morning it was about 47 degrees but it's going up to about 80 today. The Holidays are fast approaching and I'm starting to get that excited feeling!

I'm excited too, I feel like I'm going to burst into singing Christmas songs;)

Layoff rumors are always scary. We've been able to avoid them here, but the thought still crosses our minds occassionally. Try not to worry. Around here, it's normally "last hired, first fired". That's not much peace of mind for the new guy, but for those of us with more than 20 years, it helps a little.

Take care! cheesy

Good Wenesday morning, my Christmas friends!

We're getting more rain! It was a beautiful day yesterday, sunny & 78°. But more rain is most welcome. It's been pretty dry around here lately.

I hope you all have a great day! cheesy

Good morning, everyone!

Crown is off to spending more quality times with his father on the coast. I am sure that we all wish him the best! As a gesture of my appreciation – and because I enjoyed doing so during those few days during the summer – I have volunteered to fill-in once again. I hope you will enjoy the next few days as much as I will!

Without further ado, I think it is important that we get straight to the count!
The count:
Days to the Season: 45
Days to Christmas Day: 87
Only 8 – yes, a week and a day – to the 90% Season Milestone.
The homestretch will be here a week from tomorrow!

The weather is a little different in North Bay than North Carolina. Both are “north” but we are quite a bit cooler. Temperatures were at a crisp 8C (46F) this morning. If it were not for the rain, it would be walkable. The times (and seasons), they are a changin’.

It’s Wednesday. It is time for a nice glass of your favourite beverage at the ‘Pines. Coach will be there; I’d imagine that Holiday and Binger will also make an appearance, too! Hopefully Carl will be in a welcoming mood with the absence of Crown!

It’s the second last day of September. October is quickly approaching! Have a great Wednesday, everyone!!

Eeep! 1,122 ft. above the ground on a glass floor? I might feel a little uneasy about that lol
