First off, a GREAT BIG THANKS to Brent for his outstanding count posts over the last 3 mornings. We have been taken into October with style and class!

Was sorry to miss our weekly visit to the Shispering Pines but Carl reports everything went well and a good time was had by all.
The sweet southern iced tea flowed as freely as one of Binger's coffee decanters and the fired twinkie batch was one of the best.

Well, the cottage is all prepped and ready for our late fall/winter tenant. Had to dodge raindrops, wind and flying roof shingles to get everything done but it was accomplished.
Wow! So much rain and wind! On the way back we saw houses and churches completely surrounded by water. Nastiest weather I have seen over at the coast in many a moon.

Days to Christmas Day: 84
Wow! The count has really moved!
Christmas Season 2010 begins 6 weeks from today and we are down to a scant 5 days until the 90% Season Milestone arrives on October 7.
(Is it any wonder why the Christmas Feel seems to really be invading this thread for the last couple of days??)

Update on the stray cat. He is about 90% in good shape! He is meowing a lot now and couldn't while he was sick. He was so congested that he would try to meow and couldn't. One of his eyes is completely cleared and the other is still a little yucky. His eyes were so bad that they had junk coming out of both of them and shut. I plan to get him some terramycin eye ointment from work tomorrow to help clear that one eye up that won't heal. He did lay in front of my house for 2 straight days from being so sick. Now he takes his medicine, eats and runs off for the day. I seriously thought he was going to die even though I was giving him medicine. I am so happy he is doing better! I know he is happy too! cheesy

Such good news about that poor kitty !! Since he cannot talk, I thank you on his behalf. You are a kind and loving person. I hope you have a wonderful weekend my dear friend. One of my kitties has not been doing well. His name is Goblin and he is 15. He is starting to do better I think at last !! Have a great day !!

It's still warm here but there is a change in the air...I can feel it and I can smell it.

It may not sound like much to some, but last night in Charlotte it was 58 degrees. Not too cold but a welcomed relief to the hot sticky nights we've had for the last few months. It's like the rain came through and took out all the heat. Noticing the extreme difference can't help but make you feel like Christmas is on its way now.

going to our local zoo today with kandice, her friend, his parents and my moms.....the Meerkats have gotten some offspring....so we are anxious to see their cute babies. besides that....just enjoying the bada-- weather............autumn!!!!

October did kick off well : yesterday was the university graduation of my boyfriend and it was an amazing crisp autumn day

Another long day at work, but I had a good conversation with one of my managers, and he said there is not going to be layoffs so that made me feel better, that along with other problems going on there, I got a lot off my mind.
Tomorrow we will be going to the Big E or Eastern States Exposition which is our state fair, get to see tons of animals, fair food, and everything that goes with it.

Today a parade of children demonstrating their skills comes by our house. All day I'll be preparing cupcakes and candy to hand out and of course pancakes for us hope you'll be having quite as nice a weekend all of you

You know what I love best about this time of year....on Saturday mornings, I go to my Mom's to sit outside in the cool weather, drink coffee, and just visit. It's just wonderful. This morning, I had to go put on a jogging suit b/c if wasn't cool, IT WAS COLD!! Try going outside in shorts, tshirt, and "Flip Flops" (as we call the in the great state of Arkansas)! I had to turn right back around and head back in to change. As I did, guess who locked me out? That's right. Ms. Precious herself....my lovely Wife.....


Can't BELIEVE it's October! Seems like yesterday we were at 100 days to the season and now we are in the lower 40's!!! Christmas shopping today for us....we are going to get an early start.

It just amazes me how much I enjoy coming here and reading all your posts. Thanks, Jeff! This truly is one of my favorite places in the world!

We have fall temps for south Lousiana! I love it!! It's currently almost 12:30 PM and it's only 75*F. Awesome.
The lows at night are suppose to drop into the upper 40s/low 50s. I'll take em!! hahaha
I so want to go to Dollar Tree and get some halloween/fall, Thanksgiving and Christmas Decorations going!!!!
I'm so excited about the Holidays!! They're just around the corner!! We put up our CHRISTMAS TREE next month. Who else??
