Hello Christmas Pals,
Looks like NJ may get some snow this weekend. I decided I will put up my tree if ONE SINGLE snowflake falls from the sky. My family will probably call me the FLAKE for putting up the tree before Halloween, but who cares. I feel like I need a little Christmas right this very minute!!!
Well looks like some of you have started Christmas shopping and that's great !!!! I can't believe how close it is. I am ready to deck the halls and trim a tree !!!!! I think I will use this weekend to do something for the holidays since I am not doing anything for Halloween. At the least, maybe I can write a Christmas list and get some real ideas going, or start planning my Thanksgiving menu, or maybe a little of both. Well I hope everyone has a BOO-tiful and SPOOK-tacular Halloween weekend!!!! Have fun!!!!

As a retail worker in Mass. we are not even to be allowed in the store on Thanksgiving by state law, they either have to have everything set up by midnight the Wednesday before Thanksgiving to open for Black Friday at midnight or wait until later Black Friday morning, I love our laws in this state. Now if they made Black Friday a time and a half day it would even be better, I can dream. cheesy
TGIF! I am so happy today is over, today has been a rough one, very mentally drained tonight so can't think of much to share with everyone tonight other than we are supposed to get some snow overnight. Normally I am ecstatic over the first snowfall of the year, however this could be an ugly mess with a lot of leaves still on the trees..... the heavy wet snow could cause limbs to break, power lines to be down etc..bleh.
I was planning on going to a halloween party tomorrow night but it is an hour away and really don't feel like going out if it is going to be a wet ugly mess. Actually that might be my way out of going too, really was not feeling like going anyway, would rather stay at home and relax and immerse myself in Christmas stuff than go out and hang out at a halloween party anyway
Anyway, think I will go catch up in the fun and games section here maybe go play Forza 4 on the Xbox and call it an early night tonight. I'm just drained and out of it tonight.

The calm before the storm is here, we are now in a full fledged winter storm warning, I do work tomorrow, I hope I will be home before the snow flies. Get ready for this, the forecast is now calling for a snowfall amount of 10-15 inches around here. We will be carving pumpkins and shoveling the driveway on the same day. I am tired tonight, got to play in the freezer to move the turkeys to make room for the regular freight. I will be heading to bed soon, got a busy stressful day ahead of me tomorrow.

Sorry that you had a rough day, CJ. Hopefully you can decompress tonight, and have a great rest of the weekend! A good night's sleep will help. We are just laying low tonight, too. It has been a long week! Probably will just throw in a movie or play PS3. Take care
Enjoy the snow!! But, be careful driving. Everyone tends to forget how to drive in the snow at the beginning of the season! This I remember. (So weird to say that, Halloween isn't even here yet!)

I meant to have a good morning post this morning, however, my officemates soon came in and I couldn't post with them walking by every two minutes!
Anyway, it wasn't a very busy day at all... well, until the last hour when we were hit with about 25 envelopes of grants. Each envelope had about 20 grants in it, too. Lots of sorting! My colleague and I decided to leave most of it for next week so that we will have something to do on Monday morning.
As for the rest of the day? It's been very quiet. I cleaned a bit tonight to get ready for my dad tomorrow. Both Kim and Mike have been out all night, so I've actually had some free time alone. I love having the apartment to myself! It's something that I never have, too. Kim will be home in about 10 minutes. Not sure what she has planned for the rest of the night...

Louie seems to be doing better. He doesn't seem to be coordinated as much as before, but he isn't sleeping all day anymore. Hopefully he will make a full recovery, and thank you SO much to everyone who sent their thoughts/prayers our way, it means a lot.

This is so cool & crazy all at the same time, I too had a day of securing the site and making sure it was winterized, weid we haven't set the clocks back & I am getting ready for snow!!!

Sorry VS, I worked retail in high school & college, no fun, but I think midnight is just plain rude, Old Navy was the 1st to do it here in my area, and I never shopped there since, nor at the Gap, I don't shop on Black Friday, I remember what it was like working that day. As for you boss, be yourself, I don't know too much about her but, she may be jealous, maybe she is older then you and sees how happy you are & your whole life is just starting, maybe she is bitter sshe takes jabs at you, maybe she is intimidated by you, the way you are on the boards so friendly, stand for what you believe in, maybe she is threatened by you, or maybe she is just plain mean, just because she is. What I am trying to say is that there maybe things in her life you may not know are going on, I am not saying she is right, by no means, but maybe if you can do it, just brush it off, she isn't worth your happiness or health, remember all you have & the feature you have planned, feel pity for her, it will help you past her bad attitude. Be strong, stay strong, you will come out ahead.

My stitches were removed from my shoulder today. I only had to have four "holes" for the doctor to do his surgery. I am SO far behind, but I am looking forward to catching up on all the posts. There's not a lot I can do physically, so this will keep me busy. I am just giddy with excitement about all the posts, the upcoming holidays, the new cookbook, the gift exchange and all the other exchanges, and, yes, my upcoming surgeries. My eye surgeries will be done on November 2 and the facelift on December 14. Oh, how vain am I? I will be returning to work on a limited basis. I cannot believe how it is getting harder to bounce back. I am sure it has NOTHING to do with my age!!! I had to take a three-hour nap the other day! I hope to finish all my catching up right after my eye surgeries. Note the use of the word "hope." And a HUGE congrats to Dawg for being MOM. It is a great honor, and the green banner is an added touch of recognition. My eyes are slowly closing, so I better get to bed. I really miss you guys.
I think I might be moving to Massachusetts then, lol! One of the local Michael's around here is apparently open from 8am-2pm on Thanksgiving Day, so laws like that definitely don't apply down here. And last year I think the Toys-R-Us next to my Kohl's opened at 10pm Thanksgiving night. Sigh. Glad to know at least some people stay home on BF!
Lucky you, made! I miss having a non-retail job and keep looking every week. One day I will find myself a job in a new profession! I agree, I think either Toys-R-Us or Target/Walmart started the midnight trend...more and more stores are doing it every year to keep up the competition!
Last time I checked (about an hour ago), my part of PA is under a winter storm warning until 10pm tomorrow, and we are right on the line between 8-12" and 1'+. We're hoping it's all just crap bc the last time they told us we were getting that much (last February), we got maybe an inch. We are supposed to celebrate Halloween at a friend's house tomorrow and I do not want to be wearing my costume while it's blizzarding outside! lol
Thanks for your advice on my boss. A little more info...she's only maybe 7 or 8 years max older than me, I don't think it's a jealousy issue but she does tend to be a little aloof as it is and I know she's had some marital problems lately. The thing that gets me is that anyone else can talk to her and she's all easygoing, but if I try, she doesn't even look at me while I'm talking and it seems like I'm bothering her. And I get a little self conscious and wonder what's wrong with me, why am I the only one she treats like that...but I will drive myself crazy worrying about it all the time. I think the only reason it's REALLY bothering me today is because the last hour+ of my shift today, I had to call nearly 40 people to come in for holiday interviews, and after just ONE phone call, I said something to one of the girls in the office who is a good friend of mine...I maybe said like 10 seconds worth of conversation and my boss yells from her office, "Hey maybe you should stop yackin' and get back to calling people!", and not in a joking way. It was just a real wtf moment, then the whole thing at the end of the shift when it seemed like I was bothering her...I dunno. Maybe I'm just weird.

I went to sleep at 9 then woke up to let the dog out at 1038 and still can't get back to sleep. Not even the Murder She Wrote marathon on Hallmark put me back to sleep. So I decided to get up and see what the weather was doing. Maybe I will sleep better tomorrow night. At least I don't have to worry about working tomorrow. Last I saw on weather.com so many of you guys are on the 'power outage likely' areas.Good luck!
