Hey Xmas or Merry....DO any of you guys ever go to Boston on New years's eve celebration first night? I don't think it's anything I would like but brandi' says one year we may go up there for that...I think I would freeze to death though...but is it fun...safe??? does anyone know??

I have never gone to it, it's not my thing. New Year's for us is a low key event, usually a few friends and family over finger foods and some sort of comedy movie. We laugh in the New Year every year.

Slow Down!!!! I'm trying to get caught up!! Never Mind. My dinner is here. I'll be back shortly.

Ok.....I gotta go do something...the excitement is almost too much....

Think I'm going to run over to Mom's and see my Dad (he just got home....first time back since Nov. 29)

Cracking YOU up??? I wasted a LOT of coffee laughing at all of y'all!!!

Better than that.....

Can you guys believe Christmas is here? So quick! We've been in the season for some time now and it seems like a couple of weeks ago we were here bringing it in.....seems not to long ago Binger and Made were cracking me up watching Christmas in July....

Been a great year here.....and it's about to get better.

Just getting back from getting the inlaws they made it without any troubles...now I don't really feel like I need to take a nap so I will stay here as long as I can....it's nice to be here it calmes my nerves.lol
glad to hear everyone is safe under one roof!

I'm trying to remember how New Year's Eve is on MMC...like is it busy or is it dead?

last year there was 109 posts on news years eve. I am quite sure we will top that this year!
I just shut snowball up in the bedroom because some lady is suppose to bring a cake she baked..it's a caramel flavored cake, she did one for Brandi's baby shower and it was good..Snowball is kinda getting out of control and he scares the people that sees him because he is big and mean looking. I don't think he would hurt anyone but he is way stronger than me and if someone knocks on the door he is there in a second. I have already posted Beware of the dog signs in the yard and the UPS guy always calls ahead so I will have him locked up. but right about now he is crying like a wuss because he wants out of the room
we have to lock up the cat because she thinks everyone is here just to have her sit on their lap and be cuddled!

Hello everyone!! Hope you are all having a wonderful day

I made some homemade Italian wedding soup, cut up a variety of cheeses for a cheese platter, stuffed some celery with peanut butter and some with cream cheese for a platter, made three different dips, and last but not least, made some roasted red peppers. I'm all ready for the snacking part of Christmas Eve!!

We had some snow flurries earlier, but it's not looking like we're going to have a white Christmas Sheesh, I thought that was the point of living in Pennsylvania!

we have munch fest on Christmas eve too!

I brought a little plate of Christmas cookies to my desk so I don't have to move from my computer/reading the thread for a while! Pizzelle anyone?

Don't tempt me with those cookies Jennifer. cheesy I can't move fast right now, but you said cookies

Glad to hear that you're inlaws made a safe trip in!

I'm home, a little sore, but okay.

Thank you all for the concern.

Glad to hear you're home! Thanks for checking in. Get well soon!

The winner is Christmas Story (2007, Finland) Synopsis:
Hundreds of years ago in Lapland, a little boy named Nikolas loses his family in an accident. The villagers decide to look after the orphaned boy together. Once a year - at Christmas - Nikolas moves to a new home. To show his gratitude, Nikolas decides to make toys for the children of the families as good-bye presents. Over the years, Nikolas's former adoptive families become many, and soon almost every house has presents on its doorstep on Christmas morning. At thirteen, Nikolas is sent to live and work with Iisakki, a grumpy old carpenter, who forbids Nikolas to continue making presents for Christmas. Gradually, however, Nikolas wins Iisakki's trust. Together they begin to look after the Christmas traditional that Nikolas has begun. When the aged Iisakki has to leave Nikolas and move away, the tradition of Christmas presents is once again at risk. Thankfully, Nikolas comes up with a solution that brings children joy every Christmas, even continuing to today. Written by anonymous

It's a great movie!

Sounds like a great movie! I will have to check it out!

I think we are just going to order in Carrabba's tonight...I am craving some chicken bryan! tomorrow we are going to fry a turkey for the first time...meaning me and my father in law so neither one of us have fried one before...this should be good though.

Fried turkey is very good. Good luck with doing so!

I love Marie's cooking, she is a great cook. I will try to be here tonight, I've been up since 3:50am, and I'm feeling very uncomfortable, I cannot guarantee I will be there

I think we will all understand if you're not here! Rest as much as possible and take care of yourself. Hope you can make it though.

Time for a break from Christmas movies, the Boston Bruins are soon to be on. Last game before the Christmas break, and last one until Wednesday.

Lucky you...I will be overruled as you were earlier - I won't be watching anything fun - I will be watching Dora here in a little bit. The joys of Dora the Explorer.

Since I get up at 4am for work it's my normal bedtime and yep I am getting sleepy,I don't know whether to fight it or go ahead and take a nap and set the alarm for 11pm..hmmm what to do....what to do...

I say take the nap and then drink some coffee! Just don't forget to set your alarm!

Kid comedy moment: LC just got out of the bath and ran and stood in the bay window in nature's own as car's drove by, I think he was auditioning for a little bit older version of Baby New Year. I can't lift him right now so all I could do was laugh and try to talk a 3 year old out of the window. People must be traumatized

OMG! This was just tooo funny. I had just swallowed my drink. So like Seawaters said, if I would have had my drink in my mouth, I would have spit it all over the computer. You crack me up, Xmas!

You crack me up, too!!! Tonight will be so much fun!!!

I can't wait either - tonight will be sooo much fun!

I had the same result.

Me too!

You have to wear the hat tonight. We'll be watching you!!!

Or will he be watching us? He is dressed as Father Christmas, right?

I brought a little plate of Christmas cookies to my desk so I don't have to move from my computer/reading the thread for a while! Pizzelle anyone?

I will, I will! My grandmother and DH's made the best ones! I miss them so much!

No moving necessary, I'll send 'em right to you! ;)

we have munch fest on Christmas eve too!

I'm glad I'm not the only one! My aunt thinks we are nuts because we don't cook a five course meal for Christmas Eve. I'd rather spend my day being in the Christmas spirit compared to being in the kitchen!

Jennifer,
My hand is waving here in northern California!!!

Sending some your way!!! Want any walnut thumbprints or wine cookies with that? :sparkle:

going to eat really quick...this should not take too long..after that I may take a nap...I will be back at 11,should I miss anyone in the meantime....have a goodnight! hope to see everyone here later!

Yes to both, especially the wine cookies!!!

No moving necessary, I'll send 'em right to you! ;)

I thought this was funny so I have to share...

I went to visit my grandpa this evening. He offered to make hot sausage with his own sauce and peppers for Christmas Eve. While I was there, he would NOT leave the stove the entire time. The funny thing? Every time I looked at him he was tasting something (I mean, come on, there is not THAT much to taste)! I think he ate half of the peppers and I watched him bite into a piece of sausage (which I hope he didn't drop back in the pot LOL because it kind of disappeared). It was so cute! He was so focused on making everything perfect.

Ever since my grandma passed away, he hasn't had much Christmas cheer. I thought it was very sweet that he displayed all of the Christmas cards that he received this year. Maybe my overly-excited Christmas cheer this year is turning him into a Christmas lover again :)
