Christmas Countdown - 2011

Today was a day with lots of emotions. I left my job of 3-1/2 years to start a new one. I begin the training process tomorrow morning at 9:30. I had forgotten something that was in the e-mail account with my old job and when I tried to get back in, which was only like an hour after I was finished today, my access had been deleted. The same with the payroll site. I understand that companies have to be secure but talk about "here's your hat - what's your hurry ?" Geesh !!! For some reason it bothered me that they "got rid of me" that fast. Funny how a company can just "delete" you as though you never existed, as though all the hard work you did didn't even matter.

I am just hoping I am not going to have a problem getting my last 2 checks. I guess I will just have to wait and see. I don't know what to do if they don't pay me. I have auto deposit so I guess I am just going to have to wait.

The storm seems to be over at last here. We are so blessed. There are many, many people in one of the nearby towns who are totally without power still tonight.

I imagine that felt weird to be gone just like that out of their system!

Of course they call it the sun. It's those falling white things some of us don't have!!! Let's see, what are they called? Feathers, right, feathers!!

Didn't you quit them? I understand your feelings, in feeling you been deleted just like that, but think here a minute aout this. Work is tight and maybe wasn't company's fault you had no work. But you left them, so have you thought how maybe they might feel about you leaving them. May be they feel you jumped ship on them. But yes it is SOP to shut all system access off when an employee leaves. If it has anything to do with HEPA then they have no choice but to delete you. In fact some companies will restrict your access upon being giving notice to leave and some will block you out say if on sick leave or during vacation. So don't take it to hard. Your moving on, so forward march as they say. Tomorrow is a new day a new adventure it is what is really important. Good luck as well.

My life and how I make a living is very strange and I would explain it but even I can't figure it out. Lets just say I never seem to be bored. For the most part I am a freelancer that does way to many things I think sometimes.
 
I hope everyone has a great evening. I have lots of work to do; in addition to my regular classroom, I have 37 students on Independent Study and just got another one this afternoon. Oh, well, it's only money!!!

Well thanks xmas365 I hope you are happy. You posted this and like a fool I ask you if you had ever thought about making one. So guess who has been sitting here thinking about doing the same thing? Yup me no doubt. But have an idea for one shaped like a tree. Hmmmm lets see how can I????????????????????????
 
Evening all! Tonight I had to stay an hour later at work. Helping a lady on the phone that wouldn't make up her mind! Sheesh! We didn't get hit as hard as they were predicting. Outside of London is another story! They were walloped! We had 80km winds last night and that made a nice 5 foot snow drift in the back. Foot and a half was on the driveway this morning. I was shoveling the driveway when I got home and loaded up my merry Christmas radio! Lets make a plug here "My OFFICIAL radio station of shoveling my driveway" haha. Well off to play some games before bed time. Take it easy and have a good evening all!

Looked at the forecast earlier....6 out of the next 10 days call for snow for us....that's not good! We need spring time....warmer weather...baseball weather....

Christmas A Holic...what's it like there right now? I bet it's getting pretty crazy. I would love to be there.

On the other hand you have those of us in northern California who would LOVE snow. Wow! to have the next 6 out of 10 days snow!!!??? But all we have is sunshine. Of course, it's all relative!

When you put your heart and mind into it it is all easy for the most part. Creating things isn't about being handy it's about being creative. Start out with simple things gain cofidence and the first thing you know you have your bubblelight centerpiece that will always be special because you made it yourself.
 
Good morning all. Well now we have no hot water at all in the entire house. We have water, but it isn't getting hot. I am no expert, but it seems to me that if our pipes were frozen there wouldn't be any water at all, why would it only effect hot water? I admit I don't know about this stuff, I never had to deal with anything like this before. Anybody have any ideas?
