Gooooooooooood evening!

Still digging in the ground. The dirt here is awful. Spent bout three hours digging and then took a break. After that, two hours more spent in the hole. Finally done with hole #1. After that, one of my friends came up and said he had a tractor and he could come take it out in one swipe.

#$#$W#^^$%@!@$@$%^.....really? One swipe? 15 seconds?

Shower, Dancing with the Stars, then lasagna that my wife made. YES!!

Hope you all had a good day. GA, be careful on your way.

Made, I sure could use some help here if you want to come down!

Well I should be getting my car back today. They agreed to fix it for free even though the labor was only under a 1 year warranty, they said it was so close they would do it free. I asked if it was going to be an ongoing problem, they said that they didn't think so. Hopefully this is the last time I have to get this done. By the way they had to replace my rack and pinion, not sure if I said that last time.

Good Tuesday morning, my Christmas friends!

It's a BEAUTIFUL day here in Georgia! Wow! I wish I had the day off so I could just be outside. As it is, I have to open my office windows and dream about it. Well, I'm not going to complain about having a job in this day and time.

We finally got our new cash register in at the store yesterday. I was afraid Bernie wouldn't like all the new-fangled equipment, barcode scanners, touchscreen register, online inventory and reports, etc, but he was like a kid at Christmas. He had all the equipment out of the box and spread out on the checkout counter before I could get there yesterday. I hope they didn't lose any parts! LOL! Now I just have to make it all work.

I hope you all have a great day! cheesy

Ah! Thanks, Maureen. I knew you would come through.
Now Carl can wear his nosebag with pride!

Good Morning, Friends of Camels and Christmas!

Another calm and sunny one here in central NC where we stand at 59 1/2 degrees with the promise of an excellent day ahead.

Can we count on the weather service for accuracy, though?
And speaking of counting.......
<< I knew it! I just KNEW it! CROWN!! >>
Awwww.........

Makes me wonder if we will ever get barcode scanners for our store. We still price everything the old fashioned way and hand write our receipts. Customers ask all the time if we will go that route. Our pricing system is very time consuming but I guess we are going to keep it old school. cheesy

I usually run in the mornings but late yesterday afternoon, around 6 pm, I decided to run. I think I need to do that more often because I slept like a ROCK last night. That is the best nights sleep I have had in a very long time. I usually wake up before the grandkids get here but it was them knocking at the door that woke me up this morning.

Hey friends...I read this post in the thread "What's Santa up to in March?" Reading these each month is one of my favorite things to do. Today, I came up on one great post by jimmyolsen and I felt obligated to share it with you.

I'm sure St. Nick has a well worn itinerary for March, and I'm sure that, this year, it doesn't apply.

I suspect he's strolling through the greenhouses, tending the trees, mulling over Christmases past, present and future, wondering about the nature of things.

He takes refuge there, I imagine, in days like these, when he needs moments alone, because he doesn't care to let the people who love him see the weight of ages in his eyes. And it's there now. There, and too near the surface to hide.

You see, knowing the light and shadow that dwell in the heart of a man is a gift, but it's also a burden. For not only would you sense their presence, you'd feel their loss.

And the world just lost so many, so suddenly. The emptiness must be too great to bear.

So he walks through the trees. And he weeps. And his thoughts and prayers belong to the people of Japan. Like all of us, he's asking God to heal, to bring comfort and peace. To make them whole again.

I think that's what St. Nick is doing these days, not unlike so many of us.

And like us, I think he'll be doing it for many, many days to come.

Touching.....very touching....

Good Morning Christmas friends....I have not slept till 1130 since my 20's! but I have today...i am pooped! I drove till 230 am...and I have made a decision... when I retire in a few years I am now moving too West virginia or somewhere in the Mid-atlantic....I freaking loved it! I always pictured myself retiring in my home state of Georgia..but that was before I moved back and forgot about alot of things that go along with living there (ie knats, heat, humidity,no snow, short falls, summers that last 9 months spring allergies, which turn into summer and fall allergies)and that is just to name a few.I will always be a Dawgs fan. and go to the Ga football games...but I have been seriosuly reconsidering this for a while now. Bradmac don't hate me now!! anyways I drove all night.until I got to Charlotte,Nc then the seasons suddenly went from winter into spring just like that...everything is blooming and bees are buzzing about..I have about 6 more hours to go then I will be home. have a great day everyone!

Good morning,

It is a chilly rainy morning here, I ran out and did all my Tuesday errands, and started the pot roast, which already smells delicious, I am just taking a little rest before I clean up the house, there are toys everywhere right now, I guess that happens when you are all busy for a number of days.
Have a great day.

I don't ever see myself leaving Massachusetts, I know my sister wants us to move to the Charlotte, NC area, but I do not do well in the heat, I melt faster than a snowman. cheesy

haha! I know what you mean...I loved driving through Pa,and WVand even northern north carolina...the neat thing is my car's GPS system gives you the altitude and when I was in the mountains I was 3000 to 2000 ft and snow was still on the ground. The rest of NC was just going downhill and by the time I get to Charlotte it was alot warmer and it looked basically like Georgia. No more huge mountain ranges. Just rolling hills. I am coming back to Wv this summer because I hear they have agreat Rapids and love water Rafting! you wanna go with me xmas365??:snowball:

I kinda know how you feel. I grew up in the mountains of NC but work took us to Dallas then Nashville then Atlanta. We finally decided this was not how we wanted to live. We made a career change and moved back home to the mountains. The TX and GA summers were awful and the winters were too short and mild. It is nice to have all 4 seasons with summers that are not too hot. The nights cool off nicely here even in the summer.

One other thing that has really surprised me was the beauty of the Charlotte skyline! I love taking photos of different cities skylines...charlotte,philly,atlanta,and louisville,ky are among the best I have seen on the East side of the country...but until I actually drove through Charlotte I thought it was a much smaller place. The bank of America tower made it look as if I was driving into the city of Oz! I took alot of photo's on this trip which I will post soon!
