I am a HUGE Casey Abrams fan! I was thrilled they saved him and hopefully lit a fire under his fans to vote this week! According to forum sites I go to, Casey is really popular. The problem is, the fans become complacent and think, "no need to vote, he will win". I have been guilty of that in the past and learned from my mistake. I vote away when I have a favorite.

It happened to Jennifer Hudson and at that time Fantasia was in the bottom 3 as well.

A couple of years back I joined in on an American Idol forums that turned into total chaos. I never seen so much bickering over a show! It was stupid and I refuse to ever join in again, I only read comments to see who they like. They still fight and argue constantly. Everyone has opinions on who they like and shouldn't be judged for it. I like Casey but some may not like him at all and that's fine with me. I am not going to fight about it. lol.

The year I joined is when Adam Lambert was in the running. I like Adam and some people despised him but they were downright cruel about it and it was uncalled for. I actually got blasted because I liked when he did Ring of Fire. This person told me I had no respect for Johnny Cash. Grow up people! It's an opinion and everyone is entitled to it. It had nothing to do with disrespect to Johnny Cash, it was just a performance. I will NEVER join an American Idol thread again! Ok, I got off topic and had my rant for the day! ha ha! cheesy

By they way, who is your favorite? I won't blast you for your opinion. He he! All in all, I think they have a lot of good people this year.

I agree, CAH. I really Like Casey, but I think James is probably my favorite. Either way, they are both talented kids ! I loved Casey's parents when they interviewed them. They are older and I can relate to that because my folks were 40 and 47 when I was born !

That is so childish and RIDICULOU that you got slammed for liking Adam. I personally LOVE Adam. The kid has it together in my book. He made every single song HIS.

People just don't know how to accept an opinion different than theirs sometimes. Just like politics. I will not discuss it because it is just too much trouble. I have seen comments on these boards that really upset me but I will not say anything because these are CHRISTMAS boards, not boards for debating anything.

I hope Casey does better this week !! I would love to see him included in the finalists along with James and Pia !

Just saw on tv where Geraldine Ferraro has passed away! another great person we have lost this week! She was from the generation of politicians that although I may not agree with her stances she was very respectful of others opinions and was very dignified and a trail blazer for women in politics. Like one commentator said; although they would argue different policies all day at the end of the day they would go have a drink together...so unlike today where everyone is on the attack(both sides) all day and is mean spirited. RIP Geraldine Ferraro!:(

We are on a 6-1 calendar, go to school for six weeks, then off for one week. The union and the district get together every year to set the calendar. We take the usual holidays, and we gave up Columbus Day, Washington and Lincoln's birthdays, and one other day so that we could group days together; and now we get one week in October, one week at Thanksgiving, two weeks at Christmas, one week in February, and one week at Easter. I always call the holidays by their "real" names and not by winter and spring break. These words starting sneaking in here back in 1976, and I was determined not to give in to it.

Do yall go to school year around? that is really late in the school year for a Easter or (spring) break even though Easter is really late on the calendar this year.. The local University here was out like the first week of March, and some of the school districts have thier spring break this upcoming week and some have it the weekafter next. They all get out for summer in Mid-May! and I am always hearing about the furlough days they have here too. They have even cut back the required days of school kids go from 180 to 150! it seems like every week they are out for something. Out of all the ways we can cut back I would think education should be the last! But Kudos for yall still actually calling it "Easter "break! you don't see that even here in the south. Just like Christmas is called "winter break" now. rant over!cheesy

That sounds like a good schedule. I think having kids out all summer makes it harder for some to get back in the groove of things...I think having smaller breaks throughout the year is probably easier on everyone too.

Good morning, Christmas friends. It is windy and rainy here in northern California this morning. We had fun at the Larry the Cable Guy party last night! My husband looked great! Normally, when we visit other Elks Lodges, he dresses in a suit or nice casual clothers, so everyone was shocked that he took the party seriously! On another note, I won a basket from another lodge last night. They were having a crab feed for scholarships and I had purchased tickets for the raffle. I put all my tickets in for the John Deere basket and won!!! My husband loves anything John Deere. When we traveled across the US in 1998, not only did we have to stop at every NFL stadium along the way, we made a side trip to Moline and visited the foundry there and took a tour! He has a 1947-B John Deere tractor he restored just before he met me. He had to go online to get parts, but he worked meticulously on that tractor. For our anniversary one year, I bought two steel signs, one painted yellow and one painted green. The man who made the signs then cut out one saying for one sign and one saying for the other sign: "Nothing Runs Better for George Than a John Deere," and "Nothing is better for George than Cherylle."

I hope everyone has a great day!

It is a great schedule. Those days off seem to come at the right time!

And with this post, Ballcoach is poster #6,800. Congratulations on winning a can of leather cleaner!!

What a good night...went out to eat with my parents and wife....came home and had some coffee while watching a movie....now just visiting.....Dad leaves again Sunday for another 6 to 8 weeks.....so I cherish these times.

I have truly been blessed.

Tomorrow...couple of hours at the office...couple hours ironing some shirts....then off for another day and a half before Monday morning.

See you in the morning for coffee!

This is so off topic, but being the weather geek I am, I just turned on my weather scanner, and we are under a tornado watch and there is a 80 percent chance of rain today...just last night the last time I checked it was a 10 percent chance of rain the whole weekend..i have not seen rain here in so long I am excited..and yes this perhaps makes me the most pathetic person on the face of the earth.lol have a great afternoon everyone!

WOW!! I haven't been by yet this year - been going through a bit of a rough patch and not so much in the Christmas spirit for quite some time, but got the itch yesterday and thought I'd stop in. Already at 6825+ posts for just March!!! Incredible!!

We had a little snow in St. Louis yesterday and we're expecting 2-5" tonight again. I didn't have a very good Christmas season this last year, so yesterday was kind of my opportunity to enjoy it finally. Got a peppermint white chocolate mocha, watched the snow and listened to Christmas music. It was so nice and so now I'm in the mood.

This morning my daughter came running into me and was yelling, "Mama! Look what Santa brought me! Thank you Santa!!!" She had found a set of Barbie's hidden in her closet somewhere and is convinced that Santa brought it to her. I honestly have NO idea where it came from or when I would have gotten it for her LOL. Maybe Santa did sneak in for a little Christmas in March...

So, onward we go in the journey to Christmas!

I'd be pretty excited by that. I love that kind of weather!

I'll bet your instructor's words were comforting to hear. Good luck to you!

Well we are off to make some visits in Chico and Paradise, CA. Hope y'all have a great rest-of-the-afternoon and evening.

Good afternoon,I am channel surfing and am wondering why I pay for movie channels that are showing the same thing every 3 hours. "Twister" is on,and for laughs I thought I would watch it. Does anyone remember when that movie came out in 1996? for the time it was an amazing theatre expierience(.ie cow flying through the air etc) etc. looking at it now it kind of looks cheesy and I am also wondering what ever happened to helen hunt!. Certain movies age faster than others and "twister" has aged fast. The weather is muggy and kind of rainy but still waiting for the "big one" we are still under a tornado watch basically all weekend.

I hope this year's Christmas season is much better for you. Of course, around here, a little Christmas can happen any day of the year! Love the story about the Barbies---maybe that WAS Santa slipping in a little extra visit.

Not so original ... there's a cow flying in a tornado in "The Wizard of Oz," and that was made in 1939. cheesy Maybe that was the inspiration for the scene in "Twister"!

I thought about you Louanne when I typed it. I knew you would not have liked that part!!! When I look at real tornadoes caught on camera,I always feel bad for the livestock caught up in it. you know it has to scare them. And I am sure they really do get picked up and carried like that too:(
