We go snow tubing the 2nd weekend in January every year at Hawksnest with all of my wifes family. There are 15-20 of us and we rent a large house for a weekend. This year a major snow storm blew in the Friday we arrived and they closed the slopes because of high wind and whiteout conditions but I brought four sleds from home and the side road in front of the house was perfect for sledding so kids (all 10 of them) had a blast.

Best of all is that all the women in the family are great cooks (one is a professional caterer) so the food if amazing. While the kids are doing their thing, the grown ups are sitting around the kitchen table or TV gaining several pounds of weight from the feasts and treats.

It's a small world. My Mother-in-law owns a southern-cooking restaurant, and is a very successful caterer. Needless to say, I eat lunch with her every day, and I invite myself to her house for dinner as often as I can! cheesy

Prayers for your brother, glad you have the chance to make your Town beautiful with thte banners. I like the idea of "Welcome to historic Bellville.
I think the fall ones would be nice too ,but does that limit the time that they would be up .? Would be nice to get somethng that could be hung all year. :treeguy:

That's been our concern, too. We don't own the equipment (a bucket truck) to reach to the banner posts, so we have to hire someone to change the banners, and take them down after Christmas. It'd be nice to be able to change with every season, but I'm not sure it's cost-effective.

Hi everyone, busy day, exam on thursday and two lessons tommorow meaning lots of studying and practising! Doesn;t like London will be getting much more snow this year, however I hear at home in Dundee in Scotland they are still expecting some in the next few months.

Yep, we got a downfall the day before yesterday. Deep joy - and snow too, come to think of it!!!

I went to the store earlier and everybody was grocery shopping prepping for the big storm tomorrow, it was crazy, we are set only thing is I will have to get to work tomorrow. Our oil delivery came so we should be good.

Snow beginning to fall, Storm predicted for here as well. Not as bad as some of you guys in the south and farther up north stay safe !

We drove around looking for our cat but couldn't find him. We did see lots of other cats though. If he didn't get frightened so easy I wouldn't worry as much but he tends to take off running frantically when he is scared. I am concerned he will keep running and get further away.

I had a cat nearly 20 years ago that was missing for 2 weeks then just showed up. I am hoping our cat will be back on his own soon!

We are going to head out one more time in a few minutes.

I'll be praying that he comes home soon.

I actually slept like a log last night, feeling more rested but still blah.

My younger brother is having surgery today to repair his sinuses, since he has so many sinus infections. The have to break his nose & re-set it, then drill out his sinuses and take out his tonsils. Ouch! He says he's ready to get it done so he can avoid all the infections, but, WOW, that sounds painful!

I will be praying that all goes well.
