To all you NASCAR fans, I was a die hard fan for many years, would go to Texas Motor Speedway every year and had a blast! I am a Jeff Gordon fan and have a few of his 1:24 scale die cast cars. I use to have a large collection of his stuff but sold most of it on Ebay. I still have a few Dale Sr. and Dale Jr. die cast cars.

Now that I work every Sunday I missed a lot and just lost interest in NASCAR. I would love to get back into following it. I do enjoy it very much!

I can still follow football because they get the portable tv out for that but not the races. Even if they did get the tv out for the races I couldn't watch it anyway, it's the busiest time of year at work during the first half of the NASCAR season. I guess I could record it. We will see what happens, maybe I might try to keep up with it this year. cheesy

If you have texting on your phone I could text you updates during the race:whisper:

Yep! The hubby plays guitar :treeguy:

I'd rather they not be in the MIDDLE OF THE LIVING ROOM (haha!) but the kids love the guitar so ... no biggie, I guess :hello:

Just be thankful you're not married to me and had a drum set in the living room.

Mine isn't in the living room here either. Figure if I ever get lucky and remarry be the first thing to be relocated so might as well go ahead and get it out of the way.

Then you should be sure to see the movie "The Night They Saved Christmas" with Art Carney playing Santa and June Lockhart playing Mrs Claus.
There are extended scenes showing "North Pole City" and Santa's workshop with detailed explanations of how Santa operates and makes his deliveries.
It was made back in 1984 before the now obligatory crudeness and coarseness.
Pure magic!
It's one of my favorite Christmas movies and one I make it a point to watch every year.

Wow never seen it, In fact not sure I even knew about it, Have to find it and watch it.

A drumset is my instrument of choice as well... My mom hated it (as does my sweet hubby)... Consideration of your future wifes needs is very admirable. But I say, be who you are, and set it up where it makes you happy superdave!

That is very nice of you to offer! I think we are the only family in the world (besides my parents) that has our text messaging blocked. I try to keep our family plan as low as possible and don't want to pay the 30 bucks a month for unlimited text. I had it on and would pay per text but I kept getting text spam? (is that the correct word to use?) I called ATT and told them to block it on our plan. I think it's crazy to have to pay for each text that you don't want to receive.

I think Wayne (Snow-in-Texas) might start following it again. He quit watching it for awhile. I guess he could fill me in when I get off work.

Thanks again for the offer though!

Sun has came out and melted a lot of ice on the road. The temps are still below freezing and will be that way until Friday.

My daughter, son and Wayne all slid to work/college today. They should have better roads to drive home on.

It has it's own music room. With posters on the wall even. I think I have a picture here in an album. Oh the steamer trunk full of Christmas wrapping paper and my Yamaha keyboard share the space as well.

I don't have it either myself. To be honest not really a fan of it but a lot of people like it.

Well, this will be the 3rd midnight shift tonight. I can't say it has been easy, in fact it is quite challenging. Isn't that what life is all about sometimes, challenges ?? I am thankful to have found another job and so quickly. I am tired but I am sure I will adjust !!
hope you'll be able to adjust soon! I am really tired of my new job(internship) as well, but I keep telling myself it's just probably these first few weeks, after that, you'll know what you're dealing with and what your best way of coping with it is! Just these few weeks I try to get some extra vitamins in, and I try to enjoy small things extra, maybe these things could help you as well!!

Christmasstar!!! I have been stressing about a train cake for my little guy and hellooo - should have just asked you if you had any brilliant ideas for me! I always make him (and will do the same for Noel!) a special cake for his bday.. this year it's a train! I am thinking of doing something like this, with modifications. And I'll make homemade pound cake and icing because I get a strange sense of satisfaction doing things from scratch! :)

What do ya think? Any tips for a regular baker? My cakes always look... ok but not stellar!
I love that cake - too cute! Your babes are fortunate to have a thoughtful & talented pastry chef mama!
I haven't yours or Christmasstars talent -I tried to make a cute cake from Disney's Family Fun magazine for my nieces kindergarten class. Instead of it turning out like the adorable picture, my cake scared them half to death... (I can laugh about it now...)

Superdave: I really like your signature text :) It is definitely true!

today was the first lunch with all the interns, and as I was waiting and waiting no one came, I started getting worried, wondering if i was in de wrong place. Numerous people passed me by, i felt really stupid. In the end it turned out there was a lunch seminar at the same time, and a lot of interns went there, luckily one nice person did come and have lunch with me, I felt really lonely :P I am just not used to just going up to people, so I felt really shy just standing there :P

I am looking forward to meeting Carl tonight :P

I wanted to share a quick pic of my boys with you guys! Jude will be 3 in 9 days (ahhh!) and Noel is 5.5 months!

Someone plays guitar at your house!

I see someone else noticed it, too LOL. Nancy doesn't like my amp in the middle of the living room, either. Since my son has started playing, I've turned his bedroom into our jam room. cheesy

The search will be well worth it.
This was one of the last of the "old fashioned" Christmas movies without a trace of bathroom humor or vulgar references.
Great for the kids (and us adults who are kids at heart)!

Thanks, Made! Awesome!

Stay safe in all of that snow!!!!

Hi all!
Not been on ina few days, just been mega busy with university work.
Anyone in the UK will know the wizard of oz has started previewing in London, I got a chance to see a preview earlier this week and it really is superb!
Hope everyone enjoyed the superbowl in the states!

Good afternoon, Christmas friends. It is still windy and just a little bit chilly here in northern California. Today we planned our Valentine's Day party for the classroom on Monday! I LOVE holidays when we can have parties!!! I especially like soft sugar cookies with good icing! One of my parents always makes those! Yummo! We have a good dinner cooking in the crockpot: chicken, carrots, potatoes, corn, and onions. Tomorrow, I will use the leftovers for creamy chicken noodle soup. I can hardly wait!!! I hope y'all have a great rest of the night!!
