Nothing better than enjoying the warmth of MMC when it's 5 degrees outside. Good night friends.

Sent home from work on "medical leave." Geez, I think they're overreacting to a simple head cold. I feel fine.
A few days off is understandable, but a leave of absence?

How is everyone tonight?

HIU coach.. I dont get here much as I use to.. I have been investigating some other threads here though.. we have snow again!!

Goodnight Everyone!!!!!!!!

Then you should be sure to see the movie "The Night They Saved Christmas" with Art Carney playing Santa and June Lockhart playing Mrs Claus.
There are extended scenes showing "North Pole City" and Santa's workshop with detailed explanations of how Santa operates and makes his deliveries.
It was made back in 1984 before the now obligatory crudeness and coarseness.
Pure magic!
It's one of my favorite Christmas movies and one I make it a point to watch every year.

I saw that one for the first time this past Christmas season, I really enjoyed it.

Good afternoon Christmas family !

Well, this will be the 3rd midnight shift tonight. I can't say it has been easy, in fact it is quite challenging. Isn't that what life is all about sometimes, challenges ?? I am thankful to have found another job and so quickly. I am tired but I am sure I will adjust !!

I hope everyone is doing well today. It is so cold here !! It started out at 10 degrees this morning !!d

Have a wonderful rest of Wednesday Christmas family ! xo

The first week will be your toughest, then you will get use to it, and hopefully enjoy the quiet of the night while you are working. cheesy

Well just got home clearing snow again another 6 inches of snow here. Beats the foot and more I am hearing about to the south of me. Oh well suppose to warm up some over the weekend they say. Might even go out on the deck and work on my tan if it does.

:snowball:

Tan or a nice windburn? cheesy

That is very nice of you to offer! I think we are the only family in the world (besides my parents) that has our text messaging blocked. I try to keep our family plan as low as possible and don't want to pay the 30 bucks a month for unlimited text. I had it on and would pay per text but I kept getting text spam? (is that the correct word to use?) I called ATT and told them to block it on our plan. I think it's crazy to have to pay for each text that you don't want to receive.

I think Wayne (Snow-in-Texas) might start following it again. He quit watching it for awhile. I guess he could fill me in when I get off work.

Thanks again for the offer though!

My wife and I have no clue how to text, and I have no interest in it cheesy

Superdave: I really like your signature text :) It is definitely true!

today was the first lunch with all the interns, and as I was waiting and waiting no one came, I started getting worried, wondering if i was in de wrong place. Numerous people passed me by, i felt really stupid. In the end it turned out there was a lunch seminar at the same time, and a lot of interns went there, luckily one nice person did come and have lunch with me, I felt really lonely :P I am just not used to just going up to people, so I felt really shy just standing there :P

I am looking forward to meeting Carl tonight :P

The dreaded lunch table. I was/am very shy myself, when I was in school I always skipped lunch to avoid that feeling. I played basketball instead. Now I will sit or be glad to offer a seat to anyone who needs/wants a seat. I am me and proud of who I am now.

Good evening Christmas friends,

Pretty good night tonight, I will start by saying: I got a promotion at my job, I am back as a manager, starting Saturday. I am so happy I will be spending more time at home with my family since I will be only working one night a week, the rest of the week I will be home by 4:30pm. I was superstitious about talking about it after the disappointment I had back in the summer when I didn't get it.
LC will be going to daycare which I think he needs, he never has really played with kids his age and it will help him learn more also since it is a daycare/preschool. It also means I won't miss some good Boston Bruins games like tonights I missed, seeing the highlights they won the game, but it looked like a game right out of "Slap Shot," the Paul Newman movie, I wish I didn't miss that game. Not to many more late nights on MMC for me.

Have a good night! :hi:

Well glad to hear that things at work going good. Slap Shot one of my favorite ole movies.

Good Morning Everyone!!!!! It is going to be a chilly couple of days here in central Indy with highs around 15 degrees. There is some relief in sight with highs in the 40's next week. I don't have anything planned for today. I will probably spend the day looking for new Christmas crafts to do this year. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!
Made, what new crafts are you doing this year? I love crafting!

Christmas-a-Holic - thanks for the Couch to 5K link! I have been feeling blah this winter after having the baby and I really want to get back in shape! I hope to start it when it's a bit warmer!

What is everyone up to today? We're heading to the library for storytime later this morning. And I think my sister is bringing her new pup by.. they rescued a (purebred!!) Boston Terrier and he's just sooo sweet and cute!!

It's freeeeeeeeeeeeezing today but 40s this weekend and 50!!!!!! by next week!!!!!! I can't wait to spend time outside with the kids!!!!

Well I did go to work yesterday, wasn't too bad. The main thing about driving in icy conditions is take your time. It was funny though at one point I was behind several cars on a 2 lane road when all of a sudden they all changed lanes. I thought something was wrong up ahead, but it was clear, so I accelerated all the way up to 20 mph and passed them all. I mean there is being cautious but they were being a little too cautious. the main thing is knowing how to stop and start. I made it to work with no problems.

Good morning, friends.

Ended up with about 5 or 6 inches of snow. Roads are packed and there isn't much going on here. I know many of you in bigger cities think that is nothing and your right, but living in small rural areas....well....there just isn't much equipment to clear roadways. So we are shut down until it warms up a bit, which probably will be tomorrow. Oh well, gives me more time to hang here.

Hope everyone has a great day today. I'm going to sit here and watch movies with my wife and just hang out! See ya in a bit...

After a week of predicting snow for eastern NC, we woke up this morning to nothing but a few flakes from the sky. Weathermen are now saying, "whoopsie, warmer air moved in at the last minute and changed things". Meanwhile, my wife and kids are stuck at home with each of their schools/daycares opening up on a different delayed schedules. One at 9:30, one at 10:30, one at 11:15. Two of them made those decisions last night. What irks me the most is my oldest's private school always sends out spotters in the pre-dawn to assess the situation. No snow was falling at 5 am but they called us and woke up the entire house to tell us that they are still going on a two hour delay because the weathermen were sure it was going to start any minute and 1-2 inches were predicted.

Nobody is happy right now (kids and parents) as the sky starts to clear a little and the ground is dry.

Congrats on the promotion, but more importantly, congrats on being able to spend more time with your family!

Good Thursday morning, my Christmas friends!

It's overcast and 40° here. Not cold enough for snow, not warm enough to want to be outside. I think I'll stay inside with a cuppa joe this morning.

My son downloaded a game onto his Xbox yesterday. It's called "Doom". I used to play this game on the computer years ago, before Windows, when we only had DOS. I haven't seen it in that long. It's cool to play again, even though I have to use that crazy controller instead of a keyboard. I spent most of the afternoon yesterday doing that...LOL!

I hope you all have a great day! cheesy
