those are amazing!
I have never heard of that bookstore before, but would certainly shop there if we had one close by. To bad they are closing shop.

They had some stores in the UK but if I remember right they are all closed or sold off. Some investers say the international thing is what killed them and I think to many book stores is what did. I don't know about rest of the country but we have book stores and places to buy books everywhere here in Kansas City. In one area oh say 12 miles from where I live there are three major bookstores three to four miles apart from one another. And all selling the same thing.

Don't wait to long to check out you local Borders might be one of 200 possible stores to close Borders is in trouble. Yesterday The Wall Street Journel was saying that the company was going to file for bankruptcy protection early next week.
Thanks for the info. I like Borders, hate to see it close.
Good Saturday evening to all! A nice relaxing weekend so far! I'm watching Season one of the Drew Carey Show. Man I miss that show! Exchanged Valentines day gifts today with my Wife. She isn't feeling that well. The outbreak thats going around daycare, she got it AGAIN. William has been needing more and more timeouts. Getting to the terrible 2's! lol. We are supposed to get 2-4 inches of snow tonight so that should be nice. Just sitting here eating my Cheeseburger Doritos and having a pop! Have a good evening all!
Sorry to hear she is sick. I hope she gets well soon!

It's 1:30 in the morning and insomnia is in full effect. The good news is it's Saturday night and I don't have to worry about work tomorrow. I was scrolling through the tv menu today and happened up a couple of Christmas films with Peter Falk. "A Town Without Christas" and "Finding John Christmas". I really like Peter Falk and he was in both of them. It was a very nice and surprising treat in the middle of February. I'm back to trying to sleep. Wish me luck.
I love finding Christmas movies and shows during off season time!
I should get off of here and get ready for church.
Going out with a friend this afternoon, I think we are going to watch the Kings Speech.

Have a fantastic day everyone!!cheesy
Good movie. Enjoy!

Coach- If you get a chance watch speed channel's The Day. It has alot of good behind the scenes stuff and interviews about the day that Dale Sr. died.
I have so much footage recorded on vhs after Dale Sr. died including his funeral. We also have a dvd about his life and the movie about him. So sad and still so hard to believe he is gone!!!

Well I hit 8000 post quite a few post back and just now realized it!

Wayne and I went out for lunch yesterday to celebrate my birthday/Valentines Day then we ran around most the day. We had a very nice time. I told him the running shoes are my Valentine/birthday gift because I can't think of anything else I want or need. I just enjoyed our day together and that's satisfying to me. Makes no sense for him to spend money when I already got what I wanted.

Like I always say, I don't have a lot but I have all I need! cheesy

Have a Sensational Sunday everyone!

Hey guys, gals, and gender neutral friends! Been a couple of days since I've been here...so let me sum up what has been taking place.....

WORK!

There..got that out of the way. Finally got to take the wife out for her birthday last night and for a little Valentine's day treat....good times. Came home and we watched the race, which I strategically planned....muuuuhahahaha.....and I was asleep before the break. Disappointing. During the week, I'm up at 5 and at work by 5:45 most times. On the weekends, I still get up fairly early because it's a habit. Well, at night whenever I finally get still....I usually fall asleep in 15 minutes.

Got more Martin houses up yesterday! Anybody else watch Martins? They are probably about a week away from here....can't wait!

Congrats, CAH! Great to accomplish this milestone!

Good Morning, my half-way-through-the-weekend Friends.

Well!
If you missed the excitement yesterday, let me tell you we passed Milestone #2 along our Countdown journey and have moved into the 2nd quarter of our travel back to the Christmas Season.
Days to the Season: 273
Days to Christmas Day: 315
And this brings up the inevitable question as to what Milestone #3 is and just how close we are.
Well, it's plain as the nose on our eager faces: the 300-day Christmas Day window. And it's.....drum roll please..... just 2 weeks from tomorrow!
Wow!
Then BOTH of our counts will be down into the 200's!

Our cold mornings continue despite the warm afternoons and we have again started in the 20's here under sunny skies.
I'm really looking forward to the promised 59 this afternoon and the 60's on Monday, however!

Well, enjoy the remainder of your Weekend and have a Super Sunday, Folks.

Good morning, Christmas friends. Woke up to frost this morning, negligible accumulation! I am going to help hubby pull wires in his workshop in a few minutes, so I don't have much time to be on this morning. I hope each of you has a great day!

Well what we saw last night I don't think we will see come next weekend. ARCA cars was running almost as fast and they was not running as the cup drivers was last night. The Mark Martin, Kyle Busch wreck as well will weigh heavy in teams minds. You can't race for 500 miles like that and things not probably go bad for you.

No I think to judge last nights race as possible fact is a long shot. If you look back in past non points racing events it always seem that it looks different and it is. First place is all that matters, anything else is moot. Where as rest of the year winning is good but top ten finishes is good as well for the chase. Number one reason I hate "The Chase." If one guy wins more than anyone else then hey he is the better driver and is the champion. To me the season is never over till the last race is ran. I don't care if someone has the chanpionship locked up by August or not still going to be some good racing going on. There will be 42 other drivers plus who ever has it locked up still trying to win as many races as they can.

Hated to see Denny Hamlin beat himself racing like that last night and as well my hat off to Nascar for doing what they didn't do a few other races in the past. Not give the win to a driver just because he went across first. Then as well you have to say to Denny you the man for saying you messed up and thats racing. Love it when people such as that admit they made a mistake instead of saying and crying they was robbed and that they did nothing wrong.

I agree about the Chase format, I hate it! That is the reason I lost interest in NASCAR. Seems like when they fix something, they always go too far. I always said that all they needed to do was award more points for winning. Make it about a 50 -100 point difference between the winner and second place. I even thought they could do like F1 and have a cut off, like if you finish outside 25th, you don't get any points. F1 cuts it off after 8th, but with 43 cars in the line up, that wouldn't work.

Now. I don't want to make anyone jealous or hungry, but I have to say that I am having homemade raviolis and homemade Italian sausage tonight. It will be sooooo good. We have a Sicilian friend who invites us over to help him make both of these items! YUMMO!!!

Missed your Italian dinner, but I think we will be making loco moco today (we're missing Hawaii).

1/2 inch, lightweight. I still have 3 feet in my front yard cheesy

I was looking out the window yesterday when I found myself eye to eye with a neighborhood cat who was taking a stroll. Eye to eye, because he was strolling on top of a snowpile outside the window that brought him up to my eye level! We were both a little surprised.

Have a good night fellow Yule-igans! cheesy

Yule-igans! I love that! What a great description of what we are!

If you enjoy Peter Falk, don't forget "Pocketful of Miracles"!

I personally like to hear about people who love each other and are not afraid to say so!

Mr. and I are so compatible---early on we worked at the same place and would leave together for lunch. One new co-worker commented one day after we had left, "Gee, they make a great couple ... but isn't HE married??" We were so compatible, of course we couldn't be married to each other! Been married 16 years and would still rather spend time with each other than with anyone else. So we don't do anything special for Valentine's Day, because it's Valentine's Day anytime we feel like doing something special.

CONGRATULATIONS ON 8,000 POSTS !!!! Really cool!!!

Yep, they closed our local Borders beginning of last year and it was horrible. We had a petition going and everything but a petition isn't going to come up with the money they needed. Such a shame.

They (being the government) are now looking to make budget cuts and the targets in their sights are - wait for it - public libraries, swimming pools and 2 key air force bases

How can ANYBODY in their right mind close public libraries???? Well, any of the above mentioned really, but libraries???:-?

Good afternoon, Christmas family. Not a lot going on today. Tonight starts my work week at 11 p.m. EST. and that goes through Thursday.

I have address what I feel is an "elephant" in the room. I responded to a post by Binger and I fear I may have offended some on the board. If I have offended Binger or anyone I apologize. I guess a Christmas family is just like any other, sometimes we all say things that can be perceived in a way they were not meant. I wish all here well and am proud to be part of this wonderful Christmas family.

I am getting ready to "main line" the coffee in preparation for my all nighter. Be well everyone and let's try to think Merry Christmas/Spring thoughts. Take Care Christmas family xo

Love the cat story and love the love story!!! My hubby and I spend all our time together except when I am at work. Out get-together was fun!

I am taking a break working with Geo on the wiring. I cannot believe how heavy copper wiring rolls are and how hard it is for me to help. I am such a weenie!! I think I might even have to take a nap when we are through for the day, which will just give me enough time for a nap and time to get ready for the Sweethearts' Dinner!!!

If there is an elephant in the room, blame me! It was truly MY error, not Caninemom3's. She assured me Binger was responding to something else but my self-absorbed, super-sensitive self wouldn't let it go. If I had an issue or question, I should have asked Binger directly. For that (and many other lapses in judgment) this newbie sincerely apologizes to ALL the MMC pioneers, especially Binger!

WooHoo Dale Jr got the pole!!!!!!!!!

I just came here to tell you that, Made! Isn't that awesome! I've got something to look forward to the whole week. I can't wait until Thursday!
