Good evening, Christmas friends. My husband's retirement luncheon was marvelous. Fifty people showed up and the food was fantastic. He received a cash gift, a plaque signed by everyone, and his personnel file. Two people even came from Idaho! I was almost too sleepy to go to the doctor, but the trip to Chico was not bad. I hope y'all have a great evening.
I am glad you and your husband had a great time at the luncheon!

Good evening ladies, gentlemen, and gender-neutral friends....I am sooooo glad that tomorrow is Friday....soooo glad. Binger...it is so good to see you, friend. Make has left to go camping, but he's gonna be excited to see you back!

Well, it was 70 and sunshine today...gonna be nice tomorrow....until 3:00...then rain moves in...figures...

Good Morning Christmas friends!

Here it is my day off work and babysitting and I wake up at 5 am! I feel good though but had a chance to sleep in.

I hope you all have a fantastic Friday!

Ah, glad to see Binger came back to see us! I knew you couldn't stay away for long!

Good Friday morning, my Christmas friends!

Yes, it's volcano eruption day in my daughter's class. She's so excited, it's fun to see! When my son was in her grade, they invited the parents to watch (I guess because we do most of the work?), but not this year. Oh well, It's more fun to hear her tell the story when she's still excited.

It's overcast and chilly this morning. I've been out walking, but it took a few minutes to get used to the cool weather!

Gotta get ready for work now. See ya'll after while!

I hope you all have a great day! cheesy

Bing! Welcome back, my coffee-soaked friend, foil and twin of mystery.
Hey! Bet I know where you've been. No doubt cloistered with Carl in his lab under the Shispering Pines working on another cough-ee blend/brew.
No telling what goes on down there. (Carl is mum as usual.)

And with the odor of strange coffee wafting across the board, let's move forward and down....ever downward in our count:
Days to the Season: 254
Days to Christmas Day: 296
Hey! Hey! Hey! Day-after-tomorrow, Guys. - SINGLE DIGITS to the 1/3 Season Milestone.
We just keep creeping closerer and closerer!

Sunny but cold where we started out at just above freezing this morning and have only gone up one degree since.
Nice and calm though with 2 more days of dry weather to enjoy before rain returns for the 2nd half of the weekend.

Well Folks, amazingly we have again cycled back around to Weekend Eve.
(How can the weeks move by so fast??)

While pondering that deep thought, you have a Fabulous Friday, Everyone!

Hope everybody has a great weekend. Sat. night is the Murphy family Oyster Roast that all of us anticipate year round. In addition to oysters we have BBQ (eastern NC style of course), fried chicken, baked beans, slaw, and butter beans. Not to mention 3 or 4 desserts. A true southern family feast all evening topped off with the Duke/UNC game on TV.

I will be eating a light lunch and breakfast tomorrow and I know I will eat too much. Take care everybody.

With an oyster roast going on, all other food takes a back seat. I love roasted oysters! Actually, I like them just warm enough to crack open the shell. Heck, if I can get in the shell while it's still cold, that even better!

never had a roasted oyster, actually only ever had one oyster, came out of a can and tasted ghastly, never had one since.
Some day if my truck takes me to your neck of the woods I will pop in a get you to make me one to try!

hey gang!

i can't stop thinking about christmas! spring is on the way, yes it's lovely and i am looking forward to some lovely days out in the summer with my baby girl but.... i long for the crisp, cool autumn days and the smell of bonfires in the air! that lets me know that christmas really is on the way.

the way time flies, the autumn will soon be here and atleast i have the best website in the world to keep me in the spirit until then! cheesy

Being a North Carolinian, I LOVE BBQ (both styles) and the Duke/UNC basketball games. Duke, though, has always been my team, even though several relatives attended UNC Chapel Hill. I might sneak in and attend the Murphy Family Oyster Roast. What's one more mouth to feed, right?

Amen to everything you said, JOHNOR! When those crisp, cool autumn days are here, I really start my major Christmas anticipation!

Good morning, Christmas friends. It is clear and chilly here in northern California. I have wonderful Mexican leftovers ready for lunch, so my Friday is looking good already. I forgot to add in my reply to Murphman, that here in California, their idea of BBQ is either something cooked out on the BBQ grill or something cooked and smothered in KC or some other bottled sauce. Not anything like the Eastern or Western NC BBQ. I see we are close to post 5800. Wonder who it will be.

I am sure Binger woke up to the smell of Maple Bacon coffee. I ordered mine last night!! I will let you know! I am definitely looking forward to the opera. They make my day!

I'm with you there.
