Wow xmas365, thanks for digging up that post! Think I understand a little more about everything, although I'm still waiting for the pas de deux explanation! =)

Binger writes operas for the Countdown, which he describes in a post. The operas feature Countdown posters. The opera usually includes a pas de deux and an appearance by our own Carl. To describe one is woefully inadequate ... try paging backward in the Countdown toward the 3rd or 4th week of February, which is when Binger debuted his most recent opus. (Or search on posts by Binger.) Somewhere a few weeks back is also a post by RadioJonD with links to all of the operas still available for viewing. Enjoy!

Hello everyone!

It's is a beautiful (yet slightly cool) morning/early afternoon here in PA. I have gotten a lot accomplished this morning, which is very rare for me, seeing as how I'm a complete night owl and am usually not productive until after 3pm. =p

I have to go to job #2 today, which I am not happy about given all the great NCAA basketball games that are on today! Oh well, I have my cell charged, at the ready when there are no customers so I can check the scores. =)

Thank you for all the advice on the job situation. It does seem like an easy choice, but I just don't know. I know they say money can't buy happiness, but it would be nice to be AHEAD financially instead of just scraping by some months.

Anyway, there is still a lot to do before I leave at 2pm, but I just wanted to stop and say hello to all, and I hope you have a fantastic Saturday! :)

And may the NCAA Basketball team of your choice prove victorious today and tomorrow.
(Unless they are playing against an ACC team, of course!)

GO DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUKE!!!!!!!!!!!!! (They are my ultimate bracket winner.) Just hope all the other teams I picked for the Sweet 16 win! The only ones I have out so far are St. John's and Louisville (both complete shockers!!!).

Okay, sorry for the random basketball outburst! I have March Madness! =p

I will be there and I will bring my new maple-bacon coffee. It is surprisingly good. I will order it again! My husband liked it, too. He was afraid it would be a "girlie" blend.

...Rest assured, it will start here and with a pot of coffee! Anybody want to come over...omelets at 9:00!

Good advice, Track; I agree!

now that is a tricky situation...but the way it seems.....I say keep Your both jobs and keep on applying for others. Especially the aspect of this amazon warehouse overhiring and layin the employees off after a few months. You would give up two jobs You love for this one....and in the end You might lose this job and would have take any job You can get...sorry for this situation...but I think I wouldn´t give the other two up...just keep on apply.

A couple of thoughts: If you are laid off from the warehouse job, you won't be ahead at all!!! (You said they sometimes overhire.) I would have doubts about a company who wanted me to leave my jobs without a notice. What kind of company is that??? Also, mychosen profession was teaching; but due to my husband's military service, our rotation dates were in December, not a good hire month for teachers! So, I took a job in a title company and one in mortgage lending. Both jobs served me well, but they were not in my degree area at all. I waited, and eventually landed a teaching job in the small town in which I live. It was worth the wait! You might not believe it, but I could hear it in your voice which decision you knew you needed to make!

Yes!!! Duke has always been "my" team since I was in high school--a loooong time ago. If you know Hack Tison, Art Heyman, Jeff Mullins, etc., then you know the time bracket!!!

I noticed you are a Nittany Lion. I remember the Rose Bowl in 2009 and my first trip to the parade. Sad for your school that they lost. On the other hand, USC won! We have great pictures of the parade and the game.

Good morning, Christmas friends. It is overcast and chilly here in northern California. Rain is predicted for all of next week. My husband built a fire last night which is unusual for him. He is not cold-blooded at all, and even he was cold enough for a fire! I have quite a bit of stuff to do, but I am limited with the use of my right arm. Hopefully physical therapy will help. I hope you all have a great day. Hubby and I are going to the Elks Lodge tonight for a corned beef and cabbage dinner. We will be entertained by Irish dancers.

Wow...those operas are awesome! Love them!!! <3

Seawaters - When they first said they wanted me to leave my jobs and start the next day (the first phone call, which was about 3 weeks ago) and I told them I couldn't because I wanted to leave two weeks notice, the guy seemed really ticked, but said he understood. When he called a week later, he didn't even remember that I had said that (again, he was calling me to offer me a start date THE NEXT DAY), and then said, "Well, we're hiring a lot of people, and I shouldn't be expected to remember who said what to me..." That right there was when I started to second-guess taking the job. You would think someone would take notes on phone calls, especially if you are hiring so many people! But you are right saying I should take heed of a job who balks when I say I want to give two weeks notice...

Sigh. I really can't wait til my vacation next week so I can not think about this stuff for 8 days, lol.

Glad you love Duke too! I'm hoping they can repeat this year...they weren't my first choice for the ultimate winner but I changed at the last minute. You WERE a fan a while ago, haha!

And yes, I am a DIE HARD, TRUE Penn State fan. Love 'em win or lose (and their loss on Thursday was a hard one to take, tbh). Don't like to think about the 2009 Rose Bowl...we played so horribly, but I like USC so that made it a little easier to bear. :) Jealous you got to go to the game! I wanted to, except I couldn't afford it at all!

Good afternoon everyone.. I tryed to get up and moving today but I got tired after I took a shower and the bed looked so good after that so I just plopped down in it again..(sigh) another day spent trying to get well. The weather is sure warming up too..I looked at my local weather in Ga and it is 88F today! I think it is a little too early for upper 80's and 90's. I am already looking forward to Fall and brainstorming possible 3 day getways to go leaf peeping in October.I think I have plenty of time to consider all this. I hope everyone is having a great Saturday. Enjoy the basketball games everyone!

Seawaters, you're 1/3 the way toward needing serious help! Congratulations!

Congrats Seawaters on 10,000 !!

I guess since 30,000 is in need of serious help, I must be on the way to certifiable cheesy

On a serious note, I am just so sad. Knut the polar bear just died today....He was only 4. I know polar bears are not cudly or sweet, but IMHO they have so much stacked against them and I am ALWAYS for the underdog. This big guy was rejected by his mother if I recall right and they stopped her from killing him. The zoo saved his life. It was not a very long one. Just really sad.............

RIP Knut........xo
