Hey I bet Crown is alseep still with that lamp shade on their head.....
Oh, the accoustics are great for sleeping. Kind of a seashell-like white noise. You should try it.

And with that restful thought, Good Morning, Folks!

Wake up! Toss off that lampshade! Throw away those coffee beans! Pour yourself some tea and enjoy your morning!

Onward.....ever onward with our countdown:
Days to the Season: 185
Days to Christmas Day: 227
Well, now! UNDER half a week until the 50 percent mark to the Christmas Season, Milestone number eight on our handy-dandy chart.
(Really hard to believe we are already so far along in the rolling year.)

Overcast here this morning but the weather service proclaims the day will be dry. Might be a different story this evening and on through to the weekend, however.
We stand at 64 degrees here currently.

You have a Thrilling Thursday, Friends.
(Weekend Eve tomorrow, you know!)

Good Thursday morning, my Christmas friends!

We finally got the new pool up and running, and the kids are ecstatic! I can't keep them out of it. It's actually a big mess in my yard, since we bought an above-ground pool but had a big hole dug to bury it halfway down. There's Georgia red clay all over my yard, and all around the pool. It's being tracked into the house by some wet little feet, too.

Hopefully, my contractor brother-in-law is going to come over Monday to start on the deck around it. Maybe that'll cut down on the mud in the house.

I've never had a pool, and had no idea it was such a chore to get the pH balance and chlorine levels correct. What a pain! I've made 4 or 5 trips to the pool place to have the water tested. Everytime I go, they sell me another $25 worth of chemicals to pour in. "Bring another sample tomorrow." What they're not saying out loud is "don't forget your checkbook when you come back, too!"

Oh, well. The kids love it, so we'll plan some "staycation" time this summer, and less vacation time. Sounds good to me. Bring on the weenie roast!

I hope you all have a great day! cheesy

My Christmas cactus has a big white bud on it! I've had it about three years, and this is the first time it has bloomed in the springtime. Even my cactus celebrates year-round!

Good afternoon, Christmas family !!

I just wanted to check in and say hello. Yet another mishap with my hands only this time it is my fault !!

I was trying to open a package a couple of days back and decided to use an extremely sharp knife...........well, you guessed it. The knife slipped and not only cut the wrapping on the package but it also took a piece out of the tip of my right index finger.........Man.....the thing is SO SORE and typing at night has been VERY painful.........Now I have the right index finger with a piece missing and the left one which swells up twice its size by the time my shift is over.........Queen of Clutz.....Geez.....:-?

Have a good afternoon, Christmas family !!! xoxo
Ouch! Take good care of those fingers!

Just have pizza for breakfast. We'd never tell!!!

...That sounds fun! I haven't eaten breakfast yet and now I want pizza, hahaha!

Maybe that's because this will be a special Christmas year! The count is up, Brad has a pool, Xmas has plans for his store, GBD and Jana are going to have babies, CM3 is now 8-Fingered CM3, and your cactus has a bud!!! WooHoo!

Good morning, Christmas friends. It is overcast and cool here in northern California. Today is the last day of state testing!!! We are having a Mexican food celebration tomorrow! My son and his girlfriend will be visiting us next week on their way to Maryland. They are moving to a small town near Annapolis to help take care of her parents. I hate to see him leave California, but I am proud that he is not afraid to undertake an important task. I hope all of y'all have a great day! Spend your time wisely!

Actually, my father-in-law's store sells pizza, and he has a breakfast pizza. It comes with scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, and whatever else you want. We love it!

Living out of the city has been sooo neat with the kids - yesterday, I got to show Jude a snake in the creek near our house (and one in our yard the other day!), fish, a caterpillar nest, etc... today we saw a HUGE hawk eating a squirrel on a low branch. It was sooo neat!!!

All we saw when we lived in Philly was pigeons!

I love living in the suburbs; last year we had a bird's nest right outside our bedroom window. So cute! We also have a large black snake(s) that lives in our basement during the winter. Of course, we have no mouse problems with him around; much better than an exterminator. We have some skinks that live around the front porch that are very pretty. And of course we have lots of wild birds that sing all day long. It's very calming to hear them.

Oooh - one IN your house!! That might be a little close for comfort fo rme... but yes, a very good exterminator!!! :)

I have not had a chance to catch up on here.

I have been completely drained the past couple of days. I just have a hard time chasing grandkids for 11 hours a day but I feel blessed to have them.

I don't have them tomorrow so I think I am going to REST! No going to the gym (I have gone the past 3 days), only do chores that are a must and then take it easy.

I returned the Rick Steves' European Christmas blu-ray that they mailed me by mistake and got the dvd. I found it for about 9 bucks cheaper elsewhere. I think I might watch it tomorrow! cheesy

I hope everyone is doing well!

I think I would be horrified seeing that! Lol! I know it's part of nature to hunt to eat but squirrels are so cute!

It scares me having a 5 lb chihuahua because we see hawks sometimes and they could easily grab her.

I am glad you get to see wildlife like that and enjoy it with your kids.

sounds like fun! My brother has an above ground pool, they use salt instead of chemicals and it works really well. Not sure where they get the pool salt, but it is so nice, no stinging of the eyes and he says a lot cheaper.
